healthy variety is spice of proper diet
a couple of my amazon's pick through it, i put as an extra and feel quite satisfied when they are digging through it busy being engaged finding new tastes. it hasnt been an all out hit for them but its worth it to me to have it available for them. i do believe variety is important and some ingredients may pack health benefits we arent even aware of. it comes packaged well and because freeze-dried will last a while stored properly. its my second order.

My conure loves all of Mikey & Mia’s foods. I tried both the spicy & calming seeds and I have found that the calming seeds really do work especially during his hormonal / moulting season. He loves the spicy seeds which I give him half a teaspoon every other day. I have found that his festers are so much better with less damaged ones. Amazing food, too expensive to ship
The shipment and customs charges (to Germany) ended up being way more expensive than the food itself. Which is a real shame, because our birds love the food, and they smell amazing because of it.

My Bolivian blue&gold macaw named Nixie
My macaw is still young & not weaned yet. She is five months old. She will eat chick peas & sweet potatoes on her own!! But vegetable chop I have to coach her. She sees the added sweet potato that I put in her chop to entice her to eat & she already scopes out chicpeas. I had purchased Shelby’s seedless mix & I add a tbs to her two tbs of vegetable,legumes & grain chop~ She likes that for a switch. I also purchased Mikey & Mias seedless mix that I offer to her with her tops dream seed mix. She gets grounded walnuts, pecans & sliced almonds anytime she wants. I have bowls scattered throughout my house for her to forage. As well as tops pellets that I mix with the grounded nuts. I use pinenuts for training treats but not always. She just eats and forages for them throughout the day. I am happy that both these mixes have flowers & things the hot peppers, she loves those btw! I only offer her bell peppers & she prefers the yellow ones. But those little red fire crackers she absolutely loves! I will be ordering more!

INFESTED WITH BUGS!!
Shelby dry mix was infested with beetles within 6 months of purchase. This has never happened to ANY of my other parrot food. I sealed the bag every single time I used it and kept it in a cool and dry area. Plus, I stored the Shelby Dry Mix in the ORIGINAL bag that it came in. So either A) the food came with bugs in the bag, or B) the packaging sucks!! and will allow a beetle colony to form inside. Not to mention the fact that there were hundreds and hundreds of beetles, which was an obvious sign that this was a well-established colony that had been forming for many, many months. I am sick to my stomach to think I was feeding this stuff to my parrots. I did not feed the mix to my parrots very often; I would usually feed them 1/2tsp about 1-2 times a week. Even so, it really does not matter how often I was feeding this to my birds and I am not sure why it is questioned heavily in the reply. Especially since there is no expiration date on the bag plus I do not think that 6 or even 7 months is an unreasonable amount of time to use the food at all?? (like they are making it seem) Especially since the ingredients are freeze dried and air dried. If the company could enlighten me on the exact timeframe I was expected to finish the entire bag that would be great!! If you reread my first email, all I was really asking was when does the food expire, and does it have an expiration date. Ultimately know that this “food” WILL DEFINITELY ATTRACT BUGS INTO YOUR HOME!!!!

Your order was placed on the 6th Jan 2024, it arrived to you in the USA on 15th Jan 2024
We received an email from you on the 2nd Aug 2024. Nearly 7 months after you have been using this product to say you on the 30th July 2024 you found bugs in it. 6 and a half months later.
Now, the bag you bought was a 150g bag, this consists of a 50g separate seed mix and 100g of drymix. Even feeding 1 teaspoon a day, it probably wouldn’t have lasted half that time, we are talking about 196 days of use on a bag so small you would had to feed maybe half a gram a day for it to last that long but you did state in your original email “I had over half of the bag left but I was forced to throw the whole thing away as it was completely crawling with insects.” Which means only 50g was used over the 196 days. I can only assume this wasn’t fed daily or each meal would’ve been the size of about 1/4 of a star anise
Now with organic items with grains, wheat, flowers etc, it is possible to have microscopic eggs inside them, even with human grade items like the ones we always buy, but even if there were any in there, they would’ve hatched within a month, which we did explain to you and you did agree with in our email, now if they did hatch, this would’ve probably been before you even received your order, yet, you managed to open, feed, and use this bag for 6 and a half months with no issues at all.
If there were bugs living in the food when it arrived, there is a very high chance you would’ve seen them very fast, you mentioned there were hundreds and hundreds of Beatles that just appeared one day. You would think if they were forming over many months in such a small space it would be very noticeable.
Your suggestion that our packaging “sucks” could be a fault of not sealing the bag properly after each use, an easy mistake to make, sometimes you just forget, we are all human, but our food comes in resealable bags that are constructed with food grade materials.
Usually in a situations like this, people would provide photo evidence, but unfortunately you mentioned you threw away the bag without taking any photos at all.
Now you may say our food attracts bugs, but that would also be similar to say if you left open sugar out on your kitchen counter and within a week it was filled with ants. Our food is delicious, its human grade, it has a variety of freeze dried fruit and veg, edible flowers, herbs, seeds, it would be heaven for any living being to feast on, so it must be stored properly.
Also, keep in mind with nearly 20,000 bird food bags sold, and hundreds of positive reviews, we have never once, had a review, email, comment, or complaint like this before.
We would like to thank you for trying our products and apologise that it didn’t work out.

We recommend storing natural foods in a clean and sealed bag, especially in warm conditions, to prevent such occurrences in the future.
