Lots of fitness businesses use the Mindbody platform. For whatever reason, the businesses believe, or feel, that the platform makes things easier for them.
Typically, while I have no issues registering for classes or programs, via the Mindbody platform, occasionally I DO have problems, where my password suddenly does not work. I ask for a password reset, and....Nothing. No email comes to my Inbox (OR can be found in my Spam, Deleted etc folders).
So then I have to contact the particular business, who is often able to send me a password reset, themselves. In these instances, I DO receive the password reset (thanks to the local business, NOT Mindbody). So I reset my password, then go back onto the particular business's site, to register for a class and... 'Wrong Password'. Say what?? Also problematic is the fact that we have no option to even SEE or VERIFY the password we are entering.
So then I contact the local business again, who tells me they've done everything they can to try and help me, and that now I must go to Mindbody for help. So I go to the Mindbody site and.... NO Contact Us page. NO Contact info. So then I have to play games on their site, all to try and find a Help option elsewhere. And then, guess what?? The Help/Chat is AI GENERATED!!!! It asked for my email address, which clearly means I'm gonna get a STUPID, USELESS AI-GENERATED copy/paste reply telling me HOW to reset my password.
I know HOW to reset my password you stupid idiots. It's just that...the reset option doesn't work properly.
It is beyond infuriating, that a platform such as Mindbody is obviously getting a $ cut of all class and services reservations made via their platform, and yet, they provide ZERO customer support to the very people from whom they are making their revenue/profit.

The Expert knows well the software but each question out of its logic seems hard to handle. I would have appreciate to be asked what kind of business I run so the help would have been more accurate and pro-activ.
Besides that, my expert was patient and with good will.

This is my second time using Mindbody for my personal business, but I have used Mindbody when working for other studios and gyms, as well as using it as a customer. I know exactly how great this system is. And let me tell you- that was the ONLY reason I did not cancel my account with Mindbody and stick with the system I was using previously. When I called in to inquire about switching booking systems from Wix to Mindbody, the sales rep promised me that the process was simple, that they had done it with numerous clients who also used Wix previously, so they were very familiar with it. I told them that my #1 concern was being able to easily transfer billing information, and they said to be rest assured, their data conversion team takes care of it. (That ended up being incredibly untrue.) Everything started out really well- Carlos helped me set up my Mindbody page, and that was helpful. But after that I was on my own. My data conversion specialist was referencing Google for directions on how to get the information from my current system for their conversion, and when I said that I was also Googling it, and was having no luck (hence when I was asking the specialist...) they told me that was all the support they could offer me. So, I was left with only being able to convert my contact list. I have been inputting everyone's credit card information manually one at a time. I am also individually updating everyone's individual account with their accurate class pack amount, because that did not transfer over. I still have to update the schedule to make sure that everyone who had pre-booked class is still booked into that session in the new system, so they don't fall through the cracks. Again, if it were not for the fact that I am well aware of how great the Mindbody system is once it's up and going, I would have walked away a long time ago because this felt like a bait a switch situation.

Carlos Shulos was my onboarding specialist and he was amazing! He was always polite, attentive, knowledgeable and kind. He even took the time to research subjects when we weren't on our call so I could take full advantage of the time we had together. It was frustrating that he was booked up and that I only got 25 min or 45 if I was lucky at a time. But he patiently showed me the online support bot and I used that quite a bit.

Early contact was helpful. As we got further into the onboarding they got less so and more to a script. Setting up the app was easy enough. We pretty much managed to get everything working without much help needed. However, the seeming insistence that we set up way too many meetings to go through each step got very old, and now we are stuck needing to have more meetings apparently just to receive payments after providing all of the necessary banking information.

Mindbody is the biggest name in our space, and they got there somehow, so credit where it's due. But as a small business owner, every single encounter I've had with them has been an unpleasant experience. They may work great for larger operations, but from a small business perspective, the support structure is a nightmare. You ask one simple question and get bounced between what feels like a billion different departments, none of which seem to communicate with each other. They're great at listening — I'll give them that — but actually understanding and resolving the issue? That's a different story. Every conversation feels like an uphill battle. It honestly seems like they've grown too big to care about the little guys. If you're a small business owner considering Mindbody, just know that the customer support experience may leave you feeling like an afterthought.

Overall, my onboarding experience was positive. The calls were helpful and the representative was knowledgeable and thorough. She moved a little quickly at times, but I was able to get clarification. She also gave me resources to help as I move forward on my own. One thing I wish was clearer during the sales process is that SMS messaging is part of a higher tier package. I had assumed it would be included and would have made a different decision if I understood that upfront. That said the platform seems great and I'm looking forward to being live and learning more as I continue to set up my business.

Be very careful once they have your credit card they continue to charge you
I ask them a month prior to cancel my membership and they continue to charge me

Others might be more intuitive or more modern looking but the fact that mindbody has real humans based in the US that I can call and talk through issues makes me stay with them. Today I can a zoom call with a client specialist to help me make sure I’m taking advantage of all that I’m paying for.
