Mitchell & Dickinson draught proofed…
Mitchell & Dickinson draught proofed six casement windows at our home and added secondary glazing. Very nice people to deal with and we're very pleased with the results.
Great team. great result.
The team came in to put 11 secondary glazing units in the house. Josh, Matt and Luke were very efficient, delightful to have around and they did a great job. I would recommend M&D. The expense is worth the expertise.
We live in a Grade II listed house…
We live in a Grade II listed house built around 1870 near the cold damp sea . The condensation every morning is not good and was starting to produce mold. I wasn’t thrilled about secondary glazing as aesthetics are important and as we just finished renovating I didn’t want to deal with more building mess and disruption .
Well I didn’t have too . Tim came early worked hard and left the house clean . I don’t really notice the glazing on the sash windows and the rooms are now warm and the house not damp .
Tim was so helpful , friendly and worked incredibly hard to make the experience easy for us . He succeeded.

Just completed our 3rd of insulation work with M&D. Delighted again with the quality of the work, professional and friendly team on site and the support from the office.
A Friendly, Efficient Team
A friendly, efficient team who got on with the work well and cleared up well afterwards.
Ours is a crooked, timber framed home dating from the 1620s. Tony and his team coped with all the irregularities, odd gaps around doors and drafty windows. We now have a draft free home with secondary glazing to the windows and a roof space well insulated with thick layers of lambs' wool.
They ordered and fitted new window handles, so now they are all matching and in keeping with the age of the house.
Many thanks to Tony and the team, I highly recommend them to other people in old, crooked, drafty homes!
Mitchell and Dickinson fitted secondary glazing and loft insulation
Mitchell and Dickinson fitted CosyGlazing secondary glazing to the sash windows in my Grade II listed house as well as draught proofing and loft insulation. I'd really recommend their services. The difference in noise in the house was noticeable from the moment the first window was finished and the whole house has been noticeably warmer to the extent that I've been able to turn the heating down despite it being the middle of winter. The team were friendly and helpful from the office staff right through to the fittings team. A really fantastic experience and absolutely value for money.

We were delighted with the work done by Rob and his team. The house is significantly warmer and traffic noise is reduced. Our 500 year old house threw up all sorts of problems but nothing fazed them and they found solutions to all the problems. I would not hesitate to recommend Mitchell & Dickinson if you are considering having work done.

Tony and his team did a fantastic job on my windows. Very professional and pleasant to work with. The whole team from start to finish were spot on! I'll be having the rest of the windows in my flat completed by the team. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing work done on their windows.
Exceptional Window Renovation and Secondary Glazing
I have received excellent service from Mitchell and Dickinson.
Every part of the team was helpful and knowledgeable.
Keith and team who actually carried out the work were very polite and liaised with me daily to minimise disruption.
I was kept up to date about start dates; these had to change, which I fully understood when I saw how the team dealt with surprise extras needed for my quite dilapidated windows. Nothing was rushed or bodged. The windows are now far better than new and the house is so much warmer.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to recommend Mitchell and Dickinson; service standards this high are rare in any industry.
Better than we could have dreamed of
25 windows made draught-proof and given another layer of glazing, all immaculate and virtually invisible, despite the wonky window shapes of our ancient house. Superb and creative craftsmanship by Charlie Graham and his team, who also volunteered many extra touches to help the insulation process. We went in for this after switching to Air Source Heat Pumps, to reduce leakage of precious warm air. It wasn't cheap, but I'm so glad we took on M&D: they know what they're doing, and every inch is hand-made.
I had my reservations as to whether…
I had my reservations as to whether secondary glazing for a grade II listed Georgian house, close to Heathrow, could be effective for heating and noise reduction and done tastefully and then would it be worth the cost. Answer: yes.
Tony & Joe finished the work in 8 days rather than the planned 15 days; they were an excellent team. Tony was exemplary: friendly, well organised, clear communication, turning up early and steadily working his fine craftmanship to a well thought through plan. I am delighted with the end result: 9 windows that are repaired, working well and now make that part of the house significantly warmer and quieter. I still can’t get over how unobtrusive the appearance is. Highly recommend this company.

After a delay to the start the execution was faultless. Arrived at 8am every day and left at 4pm. 10 windows and 2 doors in 10 days including a rebuild of a very old window outside the quote. Tha latter was priced and extra timber acquired. All work was neat and surfaces covered, no loud musicand even made their own tea!

whole house secondary glazing…
We had the whole house secondary glazed. Tony could not have been more professional or friendly. They were clean tidy , on time and nothing was too much trouble. The finished product is brilliant, hardly visible and keeping my once cold house much warmer. Thank you Tony.
Window restoration
We are very pleased with the restoration work carried out on the four original sash and case windows at the front of our house. The windows are now in beautiful condition and fully functioning, with much of the original glass and it's interesting imperfections retained. The cosy glazing has a smart appearance and is very effective. The job was carried out with skill and professionalism. Tim and George were a great team and were considerate at all times. Whilst it isn't great having windows removed in November, we would like to thank them both for a great job. We are very pleased to have found this company and very satisfied with our "new" windows.
Kai and the whole team were fantastic!

Very professional, passionate and knowledgeable about their work. Our newly restored Windows look brand new and we are extremely pleased!
Thank you!!
I’m very disappointed with the…
I’m very disappointed with the secondary glazing. I truly believed everything Gary the salesman told me and stupidly thought that the old saying ‘you get what you pay for’ would be true and the secondary glazing of my 200 hundred year old sash windows would be a good investment.
Sadly, it’s been an expensive mistake.
The glazing looks invisible but there is no sound proofing and they still feel draughty. I think it’s been a total waste of money and would not recommend cosy glazing.
However, Tony and his team did a good job of restoring the sash windows.
Delighted with their work on my house.
This company installed secondary double glazing and loft insulation in our 18th century house. The work was carried out to an extremely high standard. We have a mixture of sash and other windows, several of which needed repair. The large repairs were done beautifully with pieces of oak and the smaller areas of rot were taken right back to good wood and filled with epoxy filler. Everything was then finished and repainted and looks marvellous. The glazing panels were then fitted and are unobtrusive and very effective: the house is so much warmer and quieter.
The foreman was Tony and he was assisted at different times by Matt, Peter and Daniel. They were all unfailingly friendly, polite and helpful. Tony kept us regularly informed about what he found as he worked on the windows and he happily dealt with my one or two requests for small changes to the works.
I would definitely recommend Mitchell and Dickinson.
A big project....
The windows in our Grade II-listed house were in a poor state of repair, and most were single glazed. We wanted a cost-effective way to both repair and insulate our windows, which were a mixture of sash and casement windows - some dating from the 17th Century. Having looked at a number of competitors, Mitchell & Dickinson were the stand out winner for the task. Not only did we really like the product, which could be applied to all window types, but everyone we dealt with during the assessment phase was utterly professional. The installation team were with us for 2 months; courteous, friendly, tidy and extremely good at their job, they worked closely with us throughout to ensure we were happy with the work and had the opportunity to make any changes as we went along. We are extremely pleased with the final product and would recommend Mitchell & Dickinson to anyone in a similar position.
Exemplary service and exceptional product.
Tony and Matt were our superlative team of installers who finished a four day job in our 18th century cottage last week.
The quality of their work and the finished product is exceptional - refurbishment, draughtproofing and secondary glazing to two sash windows and one metal casement window that it is almost invisible and yet highly effective against traffic noise (and almost certainly heat loss though too early to tell at this stage).
Tony and Matt were delightful and left the rooms where work was completed, and our garage which was temporarily their work shop, clean, tidy and entirely as they found them. All promises and timeframes were met and the office team were also polite, professional and a pleasure to work with.
In summary, we are so impressed with the effectiveness of M&D’s cozy glazing product and the professionalism of the service that we are now considering having them return to do two more of our sash windows.
Secondary Glazing
The firm were highly recommended to me by a neighbour and from start to finish the experience was first class. The office staff that I dealt with were friendly and very helpful and the guys who came to survey and then do the job were a pleasure to welcome into my home. I am extremely pleased with the work done and have no hesitation at all in recommending Mitchell & Dickinson.
