Great service and products
Great service and products. Recommended by my kitchen fitter. Helpful staff and great range. Good price. Oak kitchen surface was bespoke cut from carpenters dimensions and was spot on. Oak looks fantastic.

I have dealt with Mitchell's for many years and have always found them helpful, knowledgable and efficient. It's refreshing to find a friendly family run business rather that a corporate machine where you are just a number. Keep up the good work Mitchell's.
Bought some worktops from this company as they offered a cutting service and they were being fitted by my Brother who is not a kitchen fitter we opted to have the 2 lengths of worktops machine cut to get a cleancut straight edge .We wanted both lengths to be cut to the same size and they wrote the correct measurements on the invoice which also stated they were to be cut to the same length. When my Brother tried to fit the first length he found that they had cut it several inches too long!! I phoned the store no apology no offer for us to come back so they could cut the excess off instead i was told to go and measure the other length of worktop. We did this and found that this one had been cut to the correct length.I phoned back and spoke to the same guy again surly and rude no apology offered .I told him i thought this was extremely careless and after all i had paid extra for the cutting service,he grudgingly agreed to refund me £5 [ they charge £5 for each end they cut ] This wasnt the point it was less about the money [which was nominal] it was more about the inconvenience caused to my Brother [ he had to cut the length himself and could bot achieve the same clean cut as would have been achieved had it been cut by machine] and the fact that we didnt get the service we had asked for
As i was so unhappy with this and the way i was treated by the rude and surly salesman ,i emailed the owner alistair mitchell [small company no head office] again a very unsatisfactory response [it was obvious by his reply he was not interested in the fact that i had received a bad service .He told me his wife and son run the southampton store [ i presume the surly young guy who took my call was his son[ i told him not to bother with my £ 5 refund because that wasnt the point. After i had thought it over i decided to email him again and request my refund, frankly i couldnt care less about the £5 but there was a principle at stake here as they should not be paid for a botched service that has caused us a lot of trouble.I think this companies core business is selling worktops to kitchen fitters from whom they will get repeat business. They were not concerned about my bad experience because my order was a one off i wont be replacing my worktops for many years .My view is its not that things go wrong that matters its more important how the company addresses things when this happens ,Mitchells dont address them tey just ignore them ,.I also firmly believe that staff attitudes come from the top down and as the owner of the business [alistair mitchell adopts such a cavalier and dismissive attitude to customer complaints its not surprising that his employee adopts the same attitude .I had much the same experience as the other reviwere of this company ,this company got their measurements wrong also and they found the business manager was rude to them also
This is no way to run a company .they are not customer oriented and perhaps should confine themselves to dealing with the trade only
I almost did not use them after viewing their website which is very dated and not very user friendly ,how i wish i had gone to B and Q like i normally do because i am sure if i had the same bad experience with B and Q they would have put it right and at least they have a head office to complain to,its very different if one is complaining to an owner of a company as they are answerable to no one but themselves .This is a lesson learnt for me in future i will always use large companies .My assessment of this company is that they were unhelpful throughout the transaction ,rude and unwilling to put their mistake right .
We ordered several thousand pounds worth of Maia worktop through Mitchells. We supplied plans of the shapes required and specified an all round worktop depth of 650mm. They placed the order to their supplier and the product was delivered on time. On receiving the order and discussing the installation with the worktop installer, our attention was brought to the receipt which stated the depth of the worktop - 650mm for all lengths as requested, with the exception of the sink module, which was 600mm. Frantic calls to Mitchells to confirm the error were met blankly with "we supplied what we quoted", "you agreed to the quote" - all very true, but the specification was all worktops should be 650mm deep, and for that discrepancy not to have been brought to our attention is a serious error of customer service judgement.
On physically double checking what was actually received, we discover that thankfully Maia had the common sense to supply a consistant depth of worktop.
Qudos to Maia for their judgement where Mitchells fall short. To add to that, the office manager; Susan is abrupt & downright rude. Unfortunately, it's her business.
