Stranded at the airport - prebooked and paid well in advance. . 730am pick up , called and left 2 voicemails, at 8am decided to cancel . No communication , simply left to wait.... and wait whilst app continued to say "assigning driver ".

Paid £120 in advance and was left stranded with baby and still not received refund
I booked a taxi to collect me and my young baby from Manchester airport after a long flight but it didn’t turn up. I paid £120 three weeks in advance for a car seat and confirmed the booking again before I flew out. The taxi to the airport arrived fine but when we got back to the U.K. after 18 hours of travelling our taxi wasn’t there. No one answered my phone calls or WhatsApp’s and in the end we had no choice but to get another taxi without the car seat we had booked.
Several hours later I received an email response to my pleas for help telling me my booking had mistakenly been shown as “unpaid” due to an “technical issue” and was cancelled but that I would be refunded. It’s been a month now and I still haven’t received the refund.
The next time I want a reliable taxi firm to look after me and my family after a holiday I will be AVOIDING MMA transfers. I am disgusted this is a shocking service that not only let me down but still owes me money.
EDIT - in reply to your response : I have called and emailed you again today and received no response re my refund and there is no answer either. Perhaps you can check your emails and contact me as I requested this morning and process the refund. I understand the booking process very well which is why I paid well in advance. I was NOT sent a cancellation email notifying me there would be no taxi. And no one answered my calls on the day either.

All bookings with MMA Transfers must be prepaid in advance. This is necessary to secure a driver, particularly for airport pickups, due to the strict airport parking and waiting charges we incur. If a booking is mistakenly listed in our system as “cash” instead of “paid,” our system will automatically cancel the booking, as we are unable to allocate a driver without confirmed prepayment. This process is outlined in our Terms and Conditions at the time of booking.
In your case, it appears there was a technical issue that caused your booking to be marked incorrectly as unpaid. If a cancellation email was sent, we kindly ask that customers contact us immediately upon receiving it, as we can often rectify the issue quickly and ensure a driver is dispatched.
We’re also concerned to hear that you haven’t received your refund yet. Refunds are typically processed within 10 working days, and if not received, we ask that customers contact us so our team can investigate promptly.
At present, we have no record in our system of a refund being due under your name. We kindly request that you contact us directly with your order number and payment details, so we can look into this further and resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Overprices, Poor communication. Awkward premayment. very late
Arrived in Manchester for the first time not knowing the area. I called this company and they told me I had to prepay and they only come once the prepayment was made. I think in itself this puts them below most private hire companies who would accept cash... After I fumbled about with the prepayment link I went walked outside and went to the taxi rank I seen just outside. What I didnt realise was there was another taxi rank around the side. I waited for a delayed taxi before receiving a notification they were there. I couldnt see them so tried to call but they wouldnt answer my call. They kept hanging up on me. Finally the driver called me himself who explained he couldnt come to the area I was stood at. Eventually we managed to meeup somewhere else after lots of walking. What upset me was the customer service side was very rude to not answer the call and to then send messages as if they were going to cancel. What hit the most is I could have simply used uber and it would have been a fraction of the cost and within minutes compared to waiting around maybe 45 minutes. Had I not prepaid I would have cancelled and went with black cab or another alternative.

As explained at the time of booking, all pre-booked jobs require prepayment before a driver can be dispatched. Once your payment was made, we confirmed that a driver would be with you within 20 minutes. You were also given clear instructions to exit at the front of the station and head to the taxi rank on the left upon exiting the terminal.
Our driver did arrive within the 20 minutes at the advised meeting point. Unfortunately, you were later found waiting around the back of the station, which is not where we had directed you to meet. This led to an additional delay of around 20 minutes before the driver was able to locate you.
In regard to communication, your calls were not ignored. Our office staff were dealing with other calls at the time and so kept you updated via text message. You were also placed directly in contact with the driver, who then assisted in locating you.
We appreciate that the experience was not as smooth as you had hoped, but we did ensure a driver arrived promptly to the confirmed meeting point and made every effort to connect with you when you were found at a different location.
Two bookings without success…
Tried to prebook a Taxi in Manchester by App twice, no one arrived. Extremely bad usability of the app. Telephone support not available. A total waste of time and nerves.

In cases where the app continues searching too long without successfully allocating a driver, you are given the option to cancel the booking and make alternative arrangements with another company if MMA Transfers has no availability.
To guarantee that a driver is assigned in advance, we strongly recommend using the **prepaid card option** when making a prebooking. As outlined in our terms and conditions, prepaid bookings ensure driver confirmation and provide peace of mind that your journey is secured.
We also understand your frustration about not being able to reach us by telephone. Please note that if you are unable to get through on the phone, we are also available via **WhatsApp and email**, which are often quicker and more convenient ways to get support.

Wrong car, wrong place - subsequently wrong time!
We booked an prepaid a car from Liverpool to Manchester Airport. I booked an estate car because we had a lot of luggage, the estate was more expensive than the salon, but we needed it. We paid £116. But we got a saloon Toyota prius anyway, wichresulted in almost 10 minutes to pack to fit all, and we had to have luggage inside the car with us. The car did not comes to the agreed pick up point so when the driver called us, we had to walk a bit - with all our luggage - to find him.. The child car seat is not big enough (baby cramped). And the car was a minute late - witch in it self doesn’t matter, but when it’s in the wrong place and too small it means we left the pick up 16 minutes after the originally booked time.
I complain to the service this morning - 13 hours ago now - still waiting for a response.
Will add: very nice driver that I felt sorry for…

Unfortunately, the vehicle we had secured for you had a sick child in it, so we had no other option but to send another car for your trip. The driver informed us that the luggage fit in the vehicle, and everything was okay on the day.
If we had been informed on the day of any issues and were made aware that the vehicle was not big enough, we could have cancelled the booking and refunded the booking fare but the trip was completed and you were dropped off at your destination.
As you still took the trip we are not able to offer a full refund but have issued a partial refund for the change of vehicle.

Do not use this company .Very annoyed and disappointed after arriving in Manchester after 24 hour flight from Australia and there was no one to pick us up🤬, when I booked the transfer it stated that I could pay cash to the driver, (which was welcome as I lost money last year on a pre booked and prepaid transfer in America) but they sent an email while we were in transit, 12 hours before our eta, saying if the money wasn’t prepaid they wouldn’t pick us up.when we tried to phone them on our arrival there was no answer on either phone numbers given. Not happy with this service.🤬🤬🤬

Unfortunately, we can not secure a driver without prepayment as stated on the terms and conditions and payment link email that was sent to you at time of booking. You would have received this with your confirmation. We have also checked the system and both emails were sent successfully
The cash option on the booking form is for local trips only and not airport transfers, this is due to parking charges at Manchester Airport. This information can be found on our website and order confirmations. As we did not have a response and the booking was not prepaid, we had no other option but to cancel the booking 12 hours prior to the pick up.
Apologies for any inconvenience but this is the terms and conditions when making a booking

Unreliable and rude. Avoid.
I booked a taxi back to Leeds the day before a concert in Sheffield to be picked up at 11:15pm. I got a "success" page on their website with a booking reference number.
After the concert I tried to call them to locate the driver but there was no answer from the number on their website. There was a different number for WhatsApp so I called them through that. They hung up and sent a message back.
I gave them my name and booking number and they told me if it wasn't pre-paid then it would have been cancelled. There was no option to pay on the website, only an option to pay the driver in cash or card. They said they'd sent me an email with a payment link. They didn't.
They then told me the fare was cancelled immediately because they were based in Manchester and it would have been too far. Despite having a Sheffield to Leeds page on their website. They said they'd sent me a cancellation email. They didn't. And yes I can check a spam folder.
So which was it? Either reason could be easily solved by a better website, but that doesn't excuse the rudeness of the staff. Knowing I was stranded in a different city late at night, they messaged me "Have a lovely evening."
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The booking you had made via the website mentions "Success. Your request has been submitted" this means the booking will then be accepted or rejected and you will be informed via email. On this occasion that booking was rejected as we are based in Manchester and this journey would incur a lot of dead Mileage for the driver. Also the webpage also mentions to and from Manchester Airport.
We spoke last night in regard to your booking and proof of the rejection email was sent to you via WhatsApp and this was also forwarded to your email twice again last night with no issue of sending to the email you provided on your booking.
You were very rude in your responsed and swearing at the staff who tried their hardest to explain how they work.
The fact you never had a booking accepted with us means that you were just ignoring our terms and conditions in your demands. I am happy to say that the staff followed our procedure efficiently and effectively. Also providing evidence of the emails sent to you and sent screenshots of the evidence via WhatsApp. You spent 6 hours arguing with our staff but unfortunately as the booking was never accepted there was nothing they could do.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused but this was not an error on our side but yours.

Extremely friendly, helpful and punctual. Great service, well worth it.
We used them for late-night pickup from Manchester airport with kids. Our flight arrived early, but our driver, Assan, had already seen and sent a message for us to get in touch when we got through security. Once we had our bags he guided us to the pickup area, where he arrived minutes later. Also got us to the hotel through all kinds of road works, and we were still there earlier than I initially planned pick-up.
Can't praise them enough.

Car and driver on time at Manchester airport, lovely new big Mercedes E class, friendly and helpful driver made the journey home a pleasure. Minor issue - would have appreciated a text to reconfirm the reservation the day before we travelled, as we had booked and paid long in advance.

Super company who bailed us out at very short notice
We had to contact this company at very short notice after we pre paid and booked with another company who cancelled our bookings for no given reason twice on us
We called from the airport after we landed booked a car they sent us the email to pay which arrived very promptly .
We paid and the car was dispatched at a moments notice
They totally bailed us out of a desperate and dark hole as we had no way to get home on a very cold late evening
The lovely Freddie turned up to get us , he was a gent lifting bags in and opening doors and he was wonderful chatty company on our drive to home his car was clean warm and a good safe drive across the M62
Thanks guys for getting us home after a long flight and a very very long day
We would have no hesitation in booking with them again and we hope Freddie maybe available to assist us again
