Bad experience, very long time to resolve issues
Update: I'm updating my review to 2.5 stars from 0. While I am overall quite disappointed with Free Mobile given my SIM was never delivered, the difficulty in cancelling the subscription, and the way some of the customer service representatives were responding, the customer service advisors I messaged today did manage to give me the full refund and were very quick with their response and resolving the issue, for which I am grateful. Still wouldn't recommend the company, but I will not bash the employees that were indeed helpful and managed to get the issue resolved. I'm leaving my original impressions below.
Original: I would give 0 stars if I could. I ordered a SIM card from Free to my address that was never delivered and my monthly subscription was basically being wasted. I called, emailed, messaged them online through their website over and over again for at least 2 weeks following the date the card was supposed to be delivered, and every time they would give me a different delivery date. One representative even told me to come pick it up at the office for an extra charge of 5 EUR, as if I hadn't already paid for the card they failed to deliver.
I had a twisted ankle at that time, I told them I physically could not move and go all the way to their office just for a SIM card that was supposed to be delivered to me. I tried to cancel my subscription and ask for a refund for days of non stop back and forth emailing and calling, and they had the audacity to try and upsell me more of their products and services when I was telling them I wished to terminate my subscription due to their unsatisfactory service.
Finally they agreed to refund me the full amount of the SIM and the month's subscription, they even confirmed my bank account details were correct... and then they never sent the full refund. I waited two weeks, I even went to their office in person to request from them to refund me in full and all they said was to contact customer support online... So online support tells me to go in person to their office, and from the office they tell me to contact customer support online. What kind of a joke is this?
Please, for anyone that's looking into getting a French phone number or just wants to change their provider, avoid FREE MOBILE. I really should have done my research and read reviews, and now I see why they have so many 1-star reviews. The amount of stress and time they have cost me is worth way more than the measly refund they never paid back. Don't put yourself through the same thing.
What a joke
What a joke, my sim card stopped working for no apparent reason, i went to the physical store and an employee told me to just get a new one which was 10 euros and then call a number to get a refund, i had to talk to 3 different people bia chat, 3 different calls by phone and they still had not solved it. It really is a waste of time and resources for me as well as for the company. Very inneficient and sneaky way to not give you back just merely 10 euros, of course i gave up cause it's not worth it, what a joke.
Before freemobile was good but now they…
Before freemobile was good but now they steal, take advantage of the fact that they have access to your account and take your money the way they want..they are cruel and a thief I regret buy their sim card. My freebox is not even working well but they collect money the way they want. Very useless Internet service
As an international student on a tight…
As an international student on a tight budget, I opted for Free Mobile's €2/month plan, which seemed perfect for my needs, offering unlimited texting and 50MB of data. However, my experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. Despite not using the 50MB of data and strictly tracking my calls to ensure they don't exceed the 60-minute limit, I consistently find my bills higher than expected.
The charges are often unclear and seem unjustified, making me feel like Free Mobile is taking advantage of its customers. This has caused significant stress, as I am unable to even turn on 4G for essential uses like checking directions without fear of being overcharged.
Given the misleading nature of their billing and the lack of transparency, I cannot recommend Free Mobile to anyone, especially students who are managing multiple expenses. I plan to switch to Bouygues Telecom, which has received positive reviews and seems to offer a more reliable service. Free Mobile’s practices are unacceptable, and they need to improve their billing transparency and customer service. Please AVOID this carrier at all cost.
Remboursement
You guys are not fair at all!!!!!!!!!
I contacted customer service via WhatsApp and Nicole responded. I told him I was leaving France and had to cancel my subscription. He assured me that I was not going to be charged this month and I should send a letter which I did only for you people to take money from my card yesterday. I spoke to Anabelle yesterday 17/06/2024 concerning my situation and she said my account is still active meaning you are going to deduct money from me every month when I am not in the country. It is fair! Please I need a reimbursement of the €60 and the €12,99 else I will take this further.
Worst ever co.
Worst ever service, they keep on lying and cost us to loose our mobile connection for 10 days bow saying they sent the sim cards and they didn't send anything and they don't have a follow nb with the delivery co. + They said there is fiber connection in our region and they knew there wasn't it's been more than 20 days without internet: we had to buy a mobile subscription from another co... Worst ever co.on theplanet
They rip you off with international…
They rip you off with international calls. Free mobile advertises "Call internationally at no extra cost!", but then charge you for any calls to overseas mobile phones except for a small number of countries. Really dishonest company and I'll be changing to another supplier ASAP.
Free mobile loot people by making you charge for unnecessary thing. They will make a pocket in your hole.
Whatever your plan would be, they would always be able to charge you extra. I paid monthly.
My total bills for the year were €240 but they charged me €450.
They are pathetic. I wrote them a letter to challenge it but they said they can't help. They charged me €10 just because due to some bank error my bill got delayed for 1 day.
They charge without providing service
Throughout the whole time I had the Free Mobile number (more than a year) I would get SMS and phone calls from people who thought I was someone else, as if someone else actually had the same number as me. Furthermore, they would block the service and stop withdrawing from my account randomly, but tell me to pay. This happened 2 times and the second time I did not pay again. I had no service for 3 months, but then they started randomly charging me the fee on the 3rd month WITHOUT OFFERING ANY SERVICE. This was after more than a year of using their SIM with the initial problem of getting random phone and sms calls from unknown people who thought I was someone else as if they had contacted me just the previous day on that same number. The oddest thing. After they charged me again via direct debit while not providing any service, I finally sent a letter to cancel the contract (WHICH IS THE ONLY WAY YOU HAVE TO END THE CONTRACT! A FREAKING LETTER in 2024 !), and now they want me to pay again a monthly fee for a service THEY DID NOT PROVIDE. THIS COMPANY IS CHARGING PEOPLE FOR A SERVICE THEY DO NOT PROVIDE.
BEWARE 30 Euros for three days of service. BEWARE
We paid 30 Euros for service which lasted for 3 days in Paris. The sim card went bad. They would not replace the sim card. We would be required to buy another and then fill out a form to apply for a refund.
I will NEVER use this service again!
They made me pay double the price of…
They made me pay double the price of the faire because they added a second number to my account. I had to pay it for more than 4 months! I went to the store no one could help me. I called customer service several times no response. I asked back for my money from a special email address that they had given to me. Never received my money. I called my bank to block free from my account because they would always charge me. Never again!!!
We called to sign up with freedom…
We called to sign up with freedom mobile for one of their plans told us there would be a $12 SIM card charge that was ok with us. The person we talked with said we would get within 7 days. The card never came so we called to tell them we never received the card and this other person with whom we were talking with said that the service was very poor to none in our area. We told that person to cancel the account created by the first person we talked with. We were charged $12 for a card we never received we called everywhere to try and get the $12 credited back to our credit card. All we got was the run around and no refund. We landed up cancelling our credit card account to make sure they wouldn’t withdraw any more money. Worst experience we ever had. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy. We filed a complaint with the CCTS
No Refund for Over-payment
4 years ago I was loading euros onto my Free account from my mobile while in France, need to only add 10€ to cover out-of-plan calls. I accidentally added 1,000€ which was deducted directly from my BNP account. I spent the next year at their boutique in Paris, on the phone and writing letters, incuding one from a lawyer friend in Paris. NOTHING worked. I eventually just treated the "extra" 990€ as a positive balance towards my monthly subscription for two phones. Since I pay my bill by prelevement, that worked and I had no monthly payments due for several years. But a lousy experience with the company.
No customer service
I tried to cancel my account and have everything in order but they decided to cut my line without communicating and still charging us the full month + cancelation fees. Customer service kept on avoiding the issue with no apologies. Wouldn't recommend this company
INVALID PENALTY
TL;DR, the company is a bunch of scammers, and avoid them like the plague.
The company claimed the card was declined, yet the card was working perfectly well. I paid the bill using the same card that had been functioning without issues for over 2 years and still works for other companies. The following month, the card was declined again, but now I am facing an additional 10 euro charge for the previous month, even though I promptly paid after the mischarge within their 7-day limit. I was never informed about the 10 euro penalty in their email.
Fraud mobile not Free mobile
Having to deal with Free mobile was an absolute nightmare. I got their 12.99 euro plan and everything was going well until they started charging me 10 euros in penalty even though my subscription was "regularized", and then they start charging me the penalty every month as soon as the invoice is uploaded in the Subscriber Space. When I contest this, they tell me that last month's payment wasn't debited into their account. When I show evidence that it was debited from my account and I did pay, they still insist on non-payment and tell me I have to pay the penalty. Their customer service is terrible, basically repeating the same thing over and over again. It's like the whole company is run by cyborgs. Should be called Fraud mobile not Free mobile.
Free Forfait is the WORST!!
We had the worst experience with Free Forfait! We contacted the chat assistant several times and EVERY TIME we were given false information by Free Forfait. Only after changing the chat partner several times could we finally be helped. The display of the current data consumption is not always correct. That's why we had to pay €79.99 for two months each instead of the €19.99, even though we still had more than 10GB of free data according to the displayed datavolume. We then contacted Free Forfait by registered letter - Forfait never replied! Do yourself a favor and don't sign up for an account with Free Forfait.
After my mobile phone was stolen along…
After my mobile phone was stolen along with the Free mobile SIM card, I requested a replacement SIM card, but then found it impossible to activate it in my client account. After ringing them several times asking for help, they did absolutely nothing about it and in the end I sent a letter of cancellation by registered post, along with the replacement SIM card, which cost me 10 euros, to cancel the subscription with the correct standard format, making sure that i'd get a receipt after sending it. Two weeks later, i have heard absolutely nothing from them and i now feel obliged to terminate the direct debit as i'm concerned the direct debit is continuing, which surely must be an illegal practice. They may offer a cheap subscription but be prepared to do battle when it comes to sorting out problems or terminating the subsciption. This company should be held to account because they are acting unlawfully when it comes to upholding their own obligations to the customer.
CONTINUING TO BILL A CLOSED ACCOUNT
CONTINUING TO BILL A CLOSED ACCOUNT.
I bought a SIM and phone in Paris after my phone was stolen.
I used the SIM for 5 weeks and when I returned to Australia I cancelled the account. Free confirmed the cancellation but have continued to bill me. I have tried on multiple occasions to let them know the account is closed now they have involved a collection agency.
Seriously over this.
Do not use Free
I came back to Brazil and free mobile allowed my phone to use 149 mb of internet. I was overcharged in 60 euros. After that they sent me a message. I asked than to cancel this ridiculous overcharging and they did not understand. Do not use this company, never.
