The battery of the Modmo doesn't connect properly with the controller.
I want to have it fixed.
I mailed Modmo many times, where I could find the nearest service partner (I live in Holland).
I did not get any respons at all.
Modmo bike replacement
Bought two of these bikes and love them but one of them was faulted with front light not working which was draining the battery.so I emailed and rang Modmo and spoke to Andrew who was very friendly and helpful and assured me that they would collect my bike and look at this and there had replaced it with a new one and this was all done in a week. I know they had problems with this model but I think there are trying the best to sort this and have a successful business. Thanks again Andrew and hope you make a successful business as the bikes are a great design regards Martin.
4 Bikes bought via william george…
4 Bikes bought via william george auctions for £500-600 each and what a complete disaster. To start with Modmo replied and sent me a replacement for two of the bikes but when the same issues showed up on those they stopped replying. Batteries are discharging in 24 hours. 2 motors have failed and the electric lights on 3 of the bikes don’t work after first couple of uses. One of the batteries I removed to send the bike back and now the screw holes are both theeaded and the battery won’t hold in place on the new bike. This was a add on part the new company owners engineered to fix the previous company owners recall issue. It is also faulty.
There is no chance this company is ever going to offer spares. They couldn’t even tell me where to get new brake pads that fit. They are selling off old liquidated stock that has been sitting for years with dud batteries and motors, turning a quick profit and running for the hills!
Do not buy these bikes
William George Modmo Bike
William George Auctions
Modmo bike
I bought two Modmo bikes from William George via bidspotter.
They were auctioned off by William George and I was happy at the price £500 each, plus auction fees plus shipping.
The bikes were shipped within a few days, all good so far.
After only 30km, the electrics on one bike went wonky, causing the power shifter to not work.
I paid £80 to get it shipped back and a replacement was sent back after 10 days.
After 50km the replacement failed, differently this time. As did our other bike after only 35km.
The electric lights don't work and the batteries discharge after less than 24 hours. Something seriously wrong with the electrics. The fire safety aspect of a full battery discharging in this time very worrying.
I contacted both William George and Modmo with my experience and they waffled and made vague promises.
As the bikes were sold as new, I am entitled to a refund as they are not fit for purpose.
Jade at William George agreed and this is where it all started to go wrong.
I was asked to prepare the bikes for collection, which I did.
They have persistantly used every delaying technique possible to (a) not collect the bikes (b) not provide a refund
I am now in the situation where I am commencing a small claims through the courts.
My experience: Do not buy a Modmo bike, do not deal with William George.
There are currently another 50 Modmo bikes on Bidspotter, due up in a few days. I raised this as a serious concern to William George, that they are knowingly selling faulty goods (which in itself is illegal).
They did not reply to this statement.
UPDATE:
Full refund received.
I still stand by my thoughts of Modmo knowingly selling faulty goods.
Motor doesnt work
Had purchased a bike, went on it once which was a good experience and now the motor does not work, I have sent numerous emails to the company to which they reply once and then ignore every other follow up email. Currently cant use a £3000 bike.
Where to get Saigon modmo + batteries…
Where to get Saigon modmo + batteries all bikes came without it?
Never used and never worked bike
Never used bike, never managed to switched the bike on, the battery is tested and is fine, yet the bike won't switch on.
If only the company published their cabling schema or provide a list of bike shops which can support the bike.
At the moment, this is a complete mess.
In reality you are buying a prototype that never got the time, to iron out its niggles or put proper fixes in place, before the company collapsed
These bikes are still being sold as "New": When in fact they are Not..! They are unsold stock from nearly 2 years ago (made before the original company went into liquidation). The new owners are trying to recoup its investment, by selling the old stock and attaching a new battery cap, to get round the dangerous recall that caused the original company to collapse. The problem with this approach is that if you're unfortunate or stupid enough (like me) to buy one of these bikes today, you are supplied with a new bike, that's been in storage with its original battery that is now 2-3 years past its manufactured date (Lithium-ion batteries only last 2-3 years past the manufactured date). Mine is the Saigon+ and has only been charged 4 times, giving me a total of 80 kilometres distance before dying. The amazing looking, front and side handlebar end lights have also stopped working and then there's the wonderful App that provides the top of the range Saigon + (@ £2800) loads of fantastic data and lets you tweak the light settings from your mobile phone etc.....Except it doesn't...... because it no longer exists in the real world. They neglect to point this out to you on the glossy website before you buy, still advertising it as being a real thing. In reality you are buying a prototype that never got the time, to iron out its niggles or put proper fixes in place, before the company collapsed. There are no spare parts to be sourced anywhere and no repair shops are able to service the complex gearing or electronics. You are effectively paying the new owners to buy a huge yacht with the profits made on the £1.00 they paid for the liquidated stock.
Great product
Great product, very well built & delivery packaged.
It works a bit differently to my old Coratech Bosch system but I've got used to it!
The wait was worth it.
What a fantastic piece of kit
Great bike exceeded expectations - Well worth the wait .Looks the part and easily assembled.
Possibly needs a suspension seat for more comfort and slime in the tubes to prevent punctures if riding over rough terrain.
Well done for producing a well designed bike.
Excellent new product from ModMo
Just received my new bike from ModMo, delivery was quick and easy, really enjoyed my first cycle, rides super smooth and was an excellent spin.

I use my Saigon S to commute to work
I use my Saigon S to commute to work. I've been using a normal city bike for years and decided to make the change and go for an ebike.I previously tested the Saigon but Felt the Saigon S was perfect for my usage and budget. I'm very happy with my bike. Thanks Modmo.
Worth the wait
Worth the wait. A lot of the reviews here are right that there are long wait times, I ordered around 6 months ago and only just received my bike about 2 weeks ago after minimal communication and a delivery notice about 3 days before. Despite that, haven't stopped using it since, so I'd have to say it's definitely worth the way. Modmo just need to work on their delivery times but otherwise I'm very happy with my Saigon+
I received my MODMO bike a few weeks…
I received my MODMO bike a few weeks ago and it’s an absolute pleasure to ride. The bike has premium features like an up to 200km range, custom removable and rechargeable battery, 4G capabilities and Bluetooth GPS tracking from the MODMO smartphone app, a smart digital handlebar displaying speed, distance, trip and battery level, bright LED lights integrated at the front, the rear and a range of snap-on modular accessories to customise the bike.
The bike took little less than 10 minutes to assemble and my my only recommendation is to include a pump in your accessory box.

I received my MODMO a number of weeks…
I received my MODMO a number of weeks ago and have loved every minute of it. The bike is so stylish, the motor is silent, and riding an absolute pleasure The community the app fosters is also quite fun. I love how you can use the app to track rides, see how you compare with other riders, and even customise your own lights.
