A very sad box of Hotel Chocolat; they had clearly been stored in an overly warm environment resulting in some of the chocolates having a partially melted appearance, significant blooming on the majority of them and leeching of the flavours of the ones containing alcohol into those which really shouldn't, ruining the gift. They were close to their best before date but this shouldn't really matter too much as I have obtained Hotel Chocolat chocolates from their stores with a similar date without these problems. I raised this and was offered a replacement or store credit, it turned out they were out of stock so had the credit which I used to order a different box of Hotel Chocolat in the hopes that they would be in better condition, they were delivered the next day but the second box was worse than the first and had the same issues. Customer services were helpful, offering a replacement or credit again, I asked about a refund to my account and this was provided without issue. Unfortunately it seems that buying gifts from here isn't the way to go, stick to the good quality cards and get your gifts elsewhere.
