Simple process to buy through website, report arrives by email after a short time. Really responsive to messages.

Be wary. I had a very keen potential customer. He didn't want to see the car but was insistent that I paid for a Motorfax report and kept pushing me on Facebook.

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL!!! IT IS 100% A SCAM!!!!!!

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL!!!! Posted my car for sale and within 10 minutes had a message on WhatsApp from a guy that looked genuinely interested. Asking me plenty of questions about my car. Nothing looked suspicious into a moment when he started to literally forcing me to do this motorfax check on my car and pay for it with the promise of him returning money on arrival. Said no so he tried again and again. In the end I reported him and blocked!!! BE AWARE AND DON’T LET THEM SCAM YOU FOR YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!!!!!!

Scamsite same as the others

Scamsite same as the others - caller purports to be a "customer", insists on a Motorfax report which is nothing more than facts gleaned from the free internet sites.
AVOID THIS SCAMSITE

SCAM: I had exactly the same experience as…

I had exactly the same experience as others here:
Selling a car on Facebook and the buyer is 3 hours away and insists on getting this report "for my mechanic because it's the only one he trusts" beforehand.
As a rule - the buyer purchases these kind of reports, so I was suspicious even before I looked at the website.
(Plenty of other clues in the messages and in the locked facebook profile too.)
If anyone tells you to use this site, you can rest assured it's a scammer.
Be aware there are other versions of the site under other domains, which also have similar reviews to this.

Avoid this website,total scam

Avoid this website, total scam. I've had a car for sale on Facebook market place and a "buyer" was forcing me to give him basic report from this website. I've done the report and the report it is basically free info about the MOT history that you can get it from DVLA website for free and nothing else. Avoid Avoid Avoid!!

Scam

I had a very keen potential customer to buy the car. She didn't want to see the car without a Motorfax report and kept pushing me on Facebook. After she received report she get in an accident and never arrived. So I like to say its "legal"scam. You get what you ordered but this is the information about the car you can find for free in google. Be aware.

Total scam. Contact last night about buying a bike. Wanted to see the motofax 1st as it was a 2hr drive.
As soon as I showed that I paid all communication ended. Never showed to buy the bike.

The Standard report supposedly includes…

The Standard report supposedly includes a report on service history of the car checked, but does not.
All they provide at a cost of £42 is a regurgitation of the MOT history and Taxation which are freely available from DVLA.

Chatting with a person on Facebook call…

Chatting with a person on Facebook call Riley Morrison about a buying a motorcycle from me.
All was well until they asked me to provide a Motorfax report, with very little digging I arrived here to see the poor review so I just replied "According to Trustpilot this is probably a scam so I'm just going to report you to Facebook & the Police", I'm guessing I was right because they instantly left the chat and blocked me.

Motorfax… absolutely a total scam

Motorfax… absolutely a total scam. Fake interest in a car encouraging you to buy a motorfax report. It was a new FB account with 19 friends. Report never turned up. Just alerting my bank now to the scam.

Please beware of this site

Please beware of this site - as many users have described here encountered someone on Facebook feign interest in a car we were selling and consistently pressured us to use this site so they would buy the car. Profile was all set up within the last hour and very clearly fake to entice people selling to part with money for “premium car information”, which is generally available for free.

SCAM

SCAM
SCAM! Advertised my car for sale on Facebook and what seemed like a genuine guy/account enquired "jason Erik", asking lot of genuine questions and seemed like someone with legitimate interest. I got suspicious when he asked he could do car history report and sent blurry screenshots from an online chat on "motorfax" saying they could only do reports to owners, and I would have to do it. I knew this was bs immediately as there are dozens of sites anyone can use for history check on any car and cost a fraction of the price. He insisted that he and his mechanic only trusted motorfax and that if I paid for it he would reimburse me when he bought my car. I asked him to transfer me the money first and he said he had no money in bank and sent screenshot of his account. Even more suspicious. I questioned it and said all sounded dodgy to me and he sent my blurry "reviews" and became quite pushy. I suggested he could use any other website but he insisted it had to be motorfax and I had to pay it.

SCAMMER

Like many others, I was misled into purchasing a vehicle report from a Facebook buyer(a scamer). After paying £32.99,and 30 minutes later I received a PDF file containing screenshots of the MOT history — information that is freely available on public websites. The scammer Matthew(Fake Account) just disappeared after that.
