Wasted visit and wrong price charged

Wasted visit and wrong price charged

I booked an MOT through WhoCanFixMyCar at a quoted price of £39.99. The garage rescheduled my Saturday slot, offering 20% off. When I arrived for the new slot, I was told the diesel emissions machine might not work. They had known about the fault for days but didn't contact me. The test failed to run and I lost two hours.

The MOT was finally done on my third booking. I was then told the price was £50, not the quoted £39.99, and charged £40 with no sign of the promised discount. They only refunded part of it after I complained in writing.

The owner called and spent 15 minutes making excuses rather than accepting that customers should be told when equipment is down. The MOT itself was done, but I wouldn't book here again.

Dear Kennedy,

We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience.

Unfortunately, our diesel emissions equipment developed a fault, and we were also waiting on our equipment supplier/engineer to attend and resolve the issue. We understand this caused inconvenience and delay, and we apologise that communication was not better at the time.

Regarding the pricing concern, we have already issued a partial refund and also provided a voucher towards a future visit as a goodwill

gesture.

We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve how we communicate with customers when equipment issues affect bookings.

Kind regards,

Motormedic Test Centre Ltd
