TERRIBLE. I took my mum to see moulin rouge for…

I took my mum to see moulin rouge for her 60th birthday.. we were so disappointed !!! We were expecting it to be based on the story line of the film or at least have some kind of storyline with the dancing, however it was just a load of random acts and dances with no flow or meaning. Very disjointed, no live singing, it was all lip syncing! To be honest I felt like I was watching the Eurovision or a tacky cruise ship caberet act. We are from London and we love the theatre and have seen so many great shows- so he had high expectations seeing as we were watching ‘the moulin rouge in PARIS’

The only acts we enjoyed were the cirque du soleil acts which were really incredible. The can can was good. But the rest was just a messy show with bright coloured outfits and boobs/ bums outs to mask the fact that the show doesn’t have any real substance. Such a shame they didn’t at least incorporate a story line in with the dancing.

We were expecting a magical show but no magic at all, with the amount of money you pay you’d expect so much more!

Good Dancers, But Overall Overrated and Uncomfortable Experience

The dancers were talented and the costumes impressive, but overall the experience felt overrated and uncomfortable. The bouncers were rude, and the venue was packed like sardines, making it hard to enjoy a two-hour show where you’re seated awkwardly at small tables, not just rubbing shoulders with the person next to you, but rubbing up against the person behind you as there's no space.

While the topless performances may be part of tradition, it would be far more classy and elegant if the dancers wore the bedazzled bras some of them had on - those looked stylish and still very sexy.

The Champagne setup felt wasteful - most people barely touched it, yet it’s factored heavily into the high ticket price and the Guinness Record they hold. The show also became monotonous after 20 minutes while; the Cirque du Soleil–style acts were actually the highlight.

Given the fame of the Moulin Rouge movie, it’s disappointing that the show doesn’t incorporate more of that storytelling and magic - that’s what most people expect when they buy a ticket.

In short, great dancers, poor atmosphere, and not worth the hype or cost. Catch any Burlesque show if you're attending for the entertainment rather than the photo of having watching a show at the Moulin Rouge.

Buy tickets directly from them and not through agents. Its 200% not worth the premium agents charge.

The show was fantastic

The show was fantastic, the girls in the show are so professional and very fit and athletic. Stunning costumes and choreography. We went for the show only, it was absolutely jammed packed, you were sitting shoulder to shoulder. Too many people packed onto a long table. It was impossible to view the whole stage, so go early maybe to get a better seat?

Amazing show

Amazing show, an experience not to be missed. Waiters & service exceptional.
My only criticism - the Web site says smart dress but lots of people wore Jeans & Trainers which is a shame, it did slightly detract from the glamour of the occasion.

Moulin Rouge cloakroom is not secure

Whilst the show itself was enjoyable and staff very helpful and pleasant my whole experience at The Moulin Rouge was ruined after being asked to store a small paper shopping bag with a new box of perfume inside in their cloakroom. When I collected my bag perfume box had gone. The lady looked around to see if it had fallen out - even though a newspaper was still inside she couldn’t find it in the cloakroom.
Do not store anything of value in the Moulin Rouge cloakroom. It is not secure.
Staff have been responsive to my e mails but no outcomes or explanations to resolve this have been made.

An outstanding Company to deal with and a Spectacular Show.

An outstanding Company to deal with! My visit was delayed by more than two years because of the pandemic; throughout this time Moulin Rouge was responsive and reassuring about postponing my booking to a more suitable time. The staff proved to be caring, kind and courteous throughout my contact with them and during the time I spent there on 3rd September 2022. The show was spectacular, very well coordianted with a highly efficient front of house team and an amazing technical team making rapid scene changes along with superb sound and lighting systems. It is well worth a visit, you will have no regrets!
