I was convinced that this was going to be the best move yet. However, this is a screwed up system #MoveCentralMoving&Storage has. They bring a moving truck to your house and stuff it full. Then they tell you that they are going to move all of this stuff into pods. $100/month storage for each pod. Movers at our house said we should be able to get everything in 3 pods. 5 pods later, we are paying $500/month for storage. We never got to see how full the pods were or how they are packed. Then to get my stuff back, they want all kinds of deposits. I figure they will put the pods on a truck and get right to me. When I scheduled the move out I was told they would be done at their facility and to my new apartment no later than 11. An hour and a half after that 2 guys showed up. I asked them to set up my beds, as Cesar assured me when I set up this move that they could do, and both men said they weren't the ones who took it apart and they don't know how to put it together. It took them >6 hours to get us out of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom that was 90% packed for a total of $2700. Then they charge us $500 a month rent. Then they charged us $250 deposit to move out. The move out charges totaled $1047 and no made beds and everything left on my patio. I do know that moving is very expensive but I surely feel like #movecentralmoving&storage really took two old ladies for a ride on their moving cart.

PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS before moving forward with this company!!! They are charging us over $3,000 more than the estimate. Jay Ortiz is a slick sales person on the phone. He will talk about all the discounts he can offer you and say he will take care of you. Jay estimated 5-6 storage pods at $100 each per month. The are charging us for over 9 pods at $950 per month. This was higher than the most expensive storage company I could find. Jay also estimated about $2,700 for our move into storage a few miles away, the bill was over $4,000. This was after someone came to our home and took inventory of everything we had inside and outside. In fact, we got rid of more large furniture items since the inventory was taken. We have scammed and I don't want anyone else to go through what we are dealing with. Jay will promise you the world, then stick you with a bill that is far greater than the "good faith" estimate. Please don't fall for it like I did.

We moved on 7/8/2022. By far the worse company I have ever dealt with. Like a lot of other people who have left negative reviews here, I can confirm, this company has very deceiving business practices. They have very efficient processes designed to force you to pay more than quoted at every turn and they make it impossible to recover any significant losses. If you refuse to pay the upcharges they threaten to leave, with your property. You can read a lot about known and systemic problems in other reviews here on yelp.
However, I would like to focus my review on a more serious matter. When they showed up to our new home to unload our belongings the foreman told us we had to much stuff and that he was going to need two more movers (at an additional cost), we reluctantly agreed. Shortly afterwards we started to notice a lot of broken and damaged items. We started to complain to the foreman and say that we wanted to be reimbursed for the packaging/wrapping, since so much was damaged. Things were a little tense, but professional at this point. After a while two other individuals showed up to "help". They continued unloading for for a while when one of the new movers who showed up became very agressive, he was kicking boxes and furniture, and started yelling at me. I immediately noticed he was acting "drunk" and then smelled a strong odor of Marijuana. I honestly became very frightened and nervous since my 15 year old daughter was there and my husband had gone off to finish other tasks. When my husband returned he asked the mover in question to leave, he refused and said he wasn't doing anything wrong. When asked why he was smoking Marijuana his response was "its not illegal". He threatened my husband and they had a verbal dispute, my husband had to walk away to avoid being attacked. We called their dispatch immediately and told them what was happening. Astonishingly they did nothing. The aggressive man and another man who was with him continued on-site smoking marijuana and were menacing us. Very scary situation to have men under the influence being aggressive at your home. Unfortunately we had paid earlier in the day (they threatened to leave with our belongings if we didnt pay) and they had included the extra hours for the two additional movers, so we ended up paying a person to break our stuff and threaten us. Before they left the foreman offered to call dispatch on speaker phone to see if it was okay to refund us a part of the money, the dispatcher (Joe Ibarra) said to the driver, "if she's inside the house get in the truck and leave".
After now dozens of calls the company has failed to take any responsibility, nor reimburse us for any services. Even after speaking with Angel, a supposed high-level manager who promised to review the situation carefully. They only offered us a settlement to cover some of the damage, $300.00, when there's over 15k in damaged property. Not to mention the horrible experience. Additionally, Angel told me that that it was not the companies responsibility if one of there employees did something wrong, apparently there have been other situations, simply incredible. Obviously we turned down that settlement offer. We filed a police report and are working on further action.
I encourage everyone who has had a bad experience with this company to file a formal complaint with the state. When I filed they were very friendly and it was easy. Apparently this company is well known for poor business practices. Don't let them get away with it. File and let's have the state look at their license. !! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I hired Move Central based on the positive reviews and it was a huge mistake that has cost me big time.
I paid the price when Move Central's truck got stuck outside my building for 4hrs. To keep it short: Move Central made a big mistake which left me without any of my things (and no place to sleep!) and said they'd make it right. Instead I was called the next morning and told that if I didn't pay $1500 for the previous day's work ($900+ in overcharges), I couldn't have my stuff delivered. They assured me that it would all be figured out Monday, they frequently have cases where they overcharge their clients, don't worry! When they did deliver my items, they severely damaged multiple items. That Monday and every day since they have ducked my calls and claims—every person I got on the phone couldn't help me, but they could all take my credit card.
I'm out $2000 and now have Move Central contacting me via call AND TEXT to try and extort more money from me. I've been dealing with this for four months and still have no answer from the company.
DONT BE TRICKED!!!!! This company is a scam. I saw all the good reviews and picked them based on that. After this experience, I went back and took a look and there are many awful experiences just like mine hidden in the sea of reviews. People out thousands of dollars, damages, not response from the company, poor practices, etc. I would not recommend Move Central. There are so many other options, go find another one.

We scheduled a virtual walkthrough with their team but no one called us and it did not happen. We were quoted $3,085 for our move.
At the end of our 13 hour move, when ready to pay over the phone, it was told to us that the cost was actually over $8,000.00 which is $5,000 more than we were quoted.
I agreed to pay for the extra 3 hours of labor and offered multiple times to pay in cash for the mutually agreed to expenses and the company refused to accept payment. Since I was promised a cash rate, I expect the cash rate to be honored. I was told that it was late at night on Sunday and a manager was not available. I was told they would either call me in a few minutes or in the morning. I did not receive a call from the company. On Tuesday I became award of a pending charge for $7,808.25 in addition to the $250 deposit the total charged was $8,058.25. They charged our card despite knowing we were in dispute and did not agree to that payment!!!!
I was told before the move that packaging materials could be used if requested. When the crew arrived we were not asked. We were told that they would use materials. The quantity of packaging materials was excessive, and they over charged for those materials significantly. We were charged $2,382.00 for packing materials!! This is basically bubble wrap and packing paper, as we had already boxed our items.
Not only were we overcharged but this company damaged many of our items!!! We have large dents in our walls, scratches on our hardwood floors, a ripped umbrella cover, and a broken dresser leg. Also two dressers had legs removed, misplaced, and now they can’t be found!!!
We have not been contacted with a resolution or compensation for these numerous problems. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, and will take legal action if this is not corrected!!!!!!

DO NOT USE Move Central! They are dishonest and a terrible moving company. Where do I start?
PRICING: What they dont tell you during your quote is that you have to use their packaging supplies. They will come in and packup your items and will charge you for every inch of bubble wrap and every box they use. The problem is that they charge RIDICULOUS prices for these materials. At least 30%more than if I bought the packaging material myself at home depot.
If you dont want to use their material then you have to sign a waiver releasing them from all liability from damaging your goods! Packaging material is where they make their most money in my opinion.
REIMBURSEMENT: they will ONLY pay the $.30 / lb rule for any damaged items. They completely ruined my daughters $800 crib that my mother in law bought for us. They bubble wrapped only a portion of the crib and completely scratched/dented it. They only gave me $30 for this.
I also caught one of the movers WALKING on my tool chest in the moving truck.
MILKING the CLOCK: the movers took their sweet time "packing up" everything to run up the clock.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: is completely rude. They were not willing to work with us on any of these issues to make it right. On top of that they sent me multiple invoices with different prices but all with the same invoice number.
When it was all said and done, I had a $1700 bill for one truck three guys to move me 15 miles. Choosing Move Central was one of the worst decisions in my life.

The consultant will quote you one thing and change it a different amount at the end of the move. Be careful with this hourly rate! it's a scam!
I received a quote to move a 1 bed, 1 bath apartment, that's 700SF. I agreed to get their services and move forward, considering I only had a few things to move. ( fits into in a 10x5’ storage unit) Also the destination was not far, it was literally down the street.
The consultant recommended a 3 man crew and quoted me at $180 an hour x 3 hours (+$175 for 1 heavy item) = $715.
I agreed to this considering I only have a few things to move.
The 3 movers took their Time! in every way possible to make it last a full workday.
It went from a 3-hour job to a 6-hour job and My total balance due at the end was $1,300.
I've moved many times in the past and I know for a fact that a full 1bed,1bath takes about 3 to 4 hours. $1,300 to move a 10x5’ storage unit down the street is High way robbery!

they Overcharged me about 1K and was not fair. The agreement says one thing. They charge for stopped time, extra time and they never did that.

We used Central Moving Company last year for our move from Los Angeles to San Diego and had a great experience. Despite our movers being 4 hours late, the we're great once they arrived and a manager called to apologize and offer a small discount for the inconvenience. Because the guys that moved us were so great we opted to use you guys again for our recent move from San Diego back to LA.
This time it was a nightmare. We were given a quote when booking and we had cash ready as the cash price was less than card. We were told that wardrobe boxes were included in our price and we opted to use them (which we packed ourselves). The movers informed us upon arrival that all of our furniture and some of our other items would need to be repacked by them. While I do understand policy being in place for insurance purposes, this was not an issue last time we moved with you. And your employees NEVER disclosed the additional costs associated with them wrapping or replacing anything. They spend SO MUCH extra time unnecessarily packing and repacking our items and using and INSANE amount of wrapping and tape. Because of this they took WAY longer than the guys we had a year ago. And the bigger issue with all of this is that at the end of our move they charged us DOUBLE what we were quoted. I've worked in customer service for 15 years and I understand companies having their own policies and additional time and items costing additional money, however your employees should be required to disclose these costs PRIOR to doing anything beyond the original quoted price. This is absolutely shady and disgusting. We have a newborn and purposely hired a moving company that we had previously used in order to make things easier on us. Your movers took complete advantage of us. I would have been more than happy to pay for additional hours and additional materials had your employees been more honest and upfront about pricing increase. A simple, "hey we are coming up on our quoted timeline and still have a ways to go, just want to give you guys the heads up that each additional hour will coat X amount" or " hey each box we use or roll of tape is an additional X amount" would have made your business seem reputable. To just slap us with a price that was double at the end of a move day is absolutely disgusting and unprofessional. Exhausted from a long day, my husband paid the remaining balance with a card as he was told by the dispatch guy on the phone would be given at the cash price because of the miscommunication. To make matters even worse we were charged the "additional credit card use" amount several days later without our consent. This is illegal. And has now forced us to consider sending the entire situation over to our lawyer as it has left a severe bad taste in our mouth that we feel completely taken advantage of.
UPDATE: the manager Martin Hernandez has spent over a month sending me copy and paste emails and wasting my time completely. He has made the situation much worse. And has still yet to refund the UNAUTHORIZED charge on our card.

DO NOT USE THEM! Very dishonest about pricing. Scheduled a move for Oct 22nd and told them everything that was going to be apart of the move and received an hourly quote. Day of my wife received a call from on of their movers Mel who was extremely rude to her and was being completely unprofessional. They also told us they werent going to be able to make it that day and needed to reschedule til the next day Oct. 23rd. This was extremely inconvenient because this was our last day of the lease and we had scheduled our move with them over a week in advance. On the 23rd they sent out their team and once they got to our house, they told us it was going to be an extra $250 each for a safe and dresser which we had already previously told them about (weight, dimensions, etc) and were never told was going to be an extra charge over the phone. After negotiating with their customer service they were not able to honor their original hourly charge which was supposed to already include these items since we mentioned them upfront. We cancelled the service and told the movers to leave. Now they do not want to refund me back the deposit because we cancelled the move ourselves. These guys take no responsibility for their timeliness, lack of communication, being upfront, and just operating with integrity. We ended up using Best Fit Movers and received a way cheaper quote. Come to find out the owners of Best Fit Movers and Move Central are relatives. Now it makes sense why they no longer are the same company. Long story short do not use these guys, save yourself the money and headache of dealing with this extremely unprofessional company.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! They are the worst. To begin with when they arrived, they arrived without the necessary equipment to move everything. One of them I can say that he was just 18 years old. They took a long time to collect everything and therefore they charged us a lot of money. They scratched our walls and stained the entire carpet. They are thieves, they ended up charging us much more than what they had told us. Besides they had told us that there were two containers and at the time of charging us they charged us 3. Do not do it with them I promise you will regret it.
Amazing service
Best moving company I have ever used, and this was going across the country. They moved me from California to Arizona for work. I have a lot of glass and mirrored furniture and everything made it safely without a scratch. I packed up all my things by myself and bubble wrapped the big pieces of furniture that I was concerned might break or crack but they the team went even further and wrapped them in more cardboard and moving blankets just to be safe. Amazing service, really nice guys, and would definitely use them again!

I have used Move Central twice already and these guys are as good as it gets. The crews were different both times but these guys get after it and don’t show up to chew up the clock and charge you more.
For the move I packed up my stuff in my apartment, they rolled in with their dollies, and we were out in about 90 minutes. We got to the house and they were very careful with my stuff and helped me set those boxes up where they needed to go.
The second time I used them, they helped me unload a shipping container with the furniture in my house. Once again these guys came ready and energized to help me get the container back on the road to avoid additional charges.
With their work ethic and attitude of creating a satisfied customer, I got my furniture off the container and 75% setup in my house in under 2 hours total. Highly recommended!

I had a great moving experience with this company. Can’t say enough about how great these guys were. They did everything right.
Prompt quote, called to confirm date and time, the movers arrived early, no extra fees for an upright piano, putting things on the second floor, being and inside unit, truck mileage, or plastic wrap. The three movers were dedicated, professional, and fast. Everything was packed quickly and efficiently. Nothing broke in transit. They were incredibly careful with our belongings and the house.
This was far and away the best moving experience I have ever had.

I used Move Central to move yesterday and there were absolutely fantastic. My moving situation changed and got complicated after I originally set things up with them, but they were totally flexible and didn’t give me any grief about it - which I really appreciated. They also didn’t charge me any extra fees for changing the destination of my move and waiting till literally the day before to decide if I was going to use them or cancel.
Kameron and Ryan did the move and they were professional, careful, efficient, quick, clean, and overall just fantastic. I couldn’t have been happier and would definitely use them again!
Very reliable company
Absolute professionals - we had a lot of difficult furniture to move down a 3rd floor walk up, and these guys were very skilled, quick, respectful, and successfully got everything down those precarious stairs and into our new home without any damage.
The team was extremely responsive and offered excellent customer service. They delivered materials ahead of time, for us to use while we packed, and didn’t charge us for the material we ended up not needing/not using. Finally, they quoted us an extremely fair price and the final price was right on target with the quote.
We recommend this super reliable company to anyone and everyone!

No questions; these guys are a great deal and their service is great! Just got done with a complicated move. Move Central made a difficult move as seamless and worry-free as possible. Alexander provided me with a quote, which was very reasonable compared to some of the other quotes we had received. He assured me that this was the final price and there would be no surprises - and indeed, there were no surprises, no hidden fees. The price was the price. They were also very flexible considering that I only gave them 4 business days’ notice for this complex move before I actually booked them. The 2 days of moving went very smoothly - Juan, Mark, Samuel and Tyson were great. Very professional, great communication, great packing, very flexible and patient with requests. They arrived on time each and every time and got the job done in the amount of time they had estimated.
