Mower magic … What customer service

Ride on mower in for service …. Shocking customer service with dishonest information given

Ordered from them 3 weeks ago, no goods received or correspondence from company after numerous contact from us to them. Now told all previous information given to us inaccurate and none have been available; we were informed last week stock received and would be posted first thing this week out to us. Dishonest information given to us throughout process and refund requested. Would NOT recommend.

I want to start by thanking you for leaving your feedback. I appreciate your frustration, as I've investigated this order, and we could’ve improved on this service.

For a bit of context, the mower model that you had ordered was part of our stock order, which was due to be delivered back in Late February/Early March, around the time that you had placed your order. Due to supply chain issues, the shipment of this mower has been pushed back.

When you chased the order last week, one of our colleagues would've checked on this delivery and seen that they were due to be delivered at the end of that week, so they would've informed you of that date. This date was then pushed back further, and we are now still awaiting that stock.

We apologise for the inconvenience and lack of communication from us. Your order has been refunded, and the refund will be with you in a couple of days.

Excellent service ordered lawnmower 11am delivered next day .the screw pack was missing I phoned them and they apologised and sent a packet next day couldn’t fault the service

Excellent service

I sent Mower Magic an email requesting information on delivery and price of a Mountfield 1328H ride on mower. Mower Magic came back to me the same day explaining the price and when they could deliver a new mower. I rang them to discuss having the mower fully set up and ready to go on delivery and if they would take away my old mower. They agreed and for the same price no extra charge. Placed my order and it arrived on schedule today and they took away my old mower. The mower works perfectly and my experience of Mower Magic through the purchase and delivery has been very professional. Thank you.

Great Customer Service

The mark of a good company is how they deal with customer concerns. When I received my Mountfield mower I noticed that one of the front wheels was not as it should be and kept slipping off. After some reflection I decided to return the mower that very day and spoke to Don Dafis the Customer Service Advisor. He was very helpful and arranged for a courier to collect the mower and within a few days a full refund was posted. I have to say, despite not purchasing a mower from the company, I was mightily impressed with the service I received. Thank you.

bought a ride on mower used it 3 times,
within 4 weeks cutting deck adjustment would not go up or down,handbrake wouldn’t go on,paint on cutting.deck came off due to bad fitment,threaded holding screws wouldn’t tighten.asked for a refund……refused.
waiting over 3 weeks now for machine still not returned.
will never use again and will be warning people to steer clear,wish i would have read reviews prior to buying

Good Afternoon,

We appreciate your frustration - it's never a good experience to have a fault with a machine that prevents you from using it.

As the machine was outside the first 30 days of receipt, the resolution under the manufacturer's warranty was for the faults you described to us to be repaired. We attempted troubleshooting by phone and email first just in case it was something easily resolved, but the nature of the issue was one that required a repair by a trained technician.

Being relatively far from us, rather than wrestling with the logistical difficulty of re-palletising and collecting your ride-on, we reached out to local authorised Mountfield dealer who agreed to do the repair work under warranty then passed those details on to you so you could liaise with them directly about the best time to have the machine collected for warranty repair.

The dealer (Adam Jackson Ltd.) contacted you to let you know the repair was completed on the Tuesday of week-commencing the 25th of August - our understanding is that they described the repair work completed to you and you were not happy with the work detailed.

In the report from the dealer, they had tested that handbrake and not found a fault; the deck height adjustment mechanism had come apart, which resulted in the deck rubbing against the framework. This was re-assembled and tested, and the deck re-painted where a section had be scraped against the body of the machine. Some fixings holding on guards and inspection covers had also been replaced and old ones removed where they were no longer adequate.

We reached out to the dealer requesting pictures of the components mentioned in the repair and saw nothing that was a cause for concern or would affect the operation of the machine - on the contrary, it had been repaired and tested under warranty in correspondence to the manufacturer's guidelines.

Please accept our apologies that your machine had faults and that the time taken to resolve said faults was longer than desired.

Lights on, no one home

Asked them for a price for a £4000+ ride on mower, they suggested I come to the showroom so they could show me choices and prices. When I got there no one around and only one ride on in the showroom.waste of a 80 mile round journey. Ordered elsewhere

I'm sorry that you feel like it was necessary to leave a one-star review about your experience. Our showroom is split into two sections. There is the downstairs shop, which has walk-behind mowers on display, and also one ride-on mower. Then there is the upstairs showroom, which showcases more a large array of our ride-on mowers. This is signed on the door that leads upstairs, and also a video sign with flashing arrows inviting customers upstairs.

Regarding the claim that nobody was around, we have a fully staffed office that is in the building, and we are always walking between the showroom and the office. There is also a bell located on the counter (also signposted) which can be used to let us know that people are in the showroom.

I'm unsure of how long you might've waited in the showroom – we will take a look at the CCTV to get some facts, but I find it hard to believe that nobody would've come out and spotted you promptly. Perhaps we were on the phone dealing with other customers.

We rate your review as an unnecessary slur on a hardworking family company. Your impatience for instant assistance when we were likely assisting someone on the telephone is a shame. I apologise that you feel like you've wasted an 80-mile round journey. Clearly someone would have been here if you walked into the building. We hope that the mower you have ordered online is suitable for your needs and is trouble free for the benefit of the dealer.

The mower arrived promptly

The mower arrived promptly. However having assembled it, there was a fault on the cutting height adjustment. Having rung them up they confirmed it was a known fault with that type of machine. Therefore surely they should have checked before shipping. They would take the machine back but I would have to disassemble it, drain the fuel and oil and put it back in the box. Alternatively I could take it to the local dealer which I ended up doing.
The lesson I have learned from this is don't buy off the Internet, use local dealer. It might take longer for the delivery, but will save a lot of hassle if the machine is faulty.

With the ATCO brand that you ordered, they operate with dealers nationwide, and whilst we can collect any mowers that may have faults, it can be easier for you, the customer, to take the machine to a local dealer.

As mentioned in your review, we did offer to take the machine back, and when told that it was not suitable for you, we then told you that you could take it to your local dealer. We offered everything we can to get you up and running, and believe that we provided a good service.

Hopefully your machine is working without fault now, and you can get on with your mowing. If you need anything else, then please get in touch.

Great company to deal with!

I feel compelled to write a review of this company as some of the negative reviews on here are quite ridiculous.

Ordered a Mountfield Hedge Trimmer and it arrived very quickly…..great….sparked it up and it worked fine on cutting my hedge.

Unfortunately, when I came to stop the machine….the switch to turn it off wouldn’t work.

One of the signs of a good company are how they deal with things, when all doesn’t go to plan…and Mower Magic have excelled. A faulty machine is clearly not their fault….its the manufacturer.

I reported the issue immediately and was advised that the fault was dangerous and they would be able to replace or refund….my choice.

Replacement with a different brand offered and taken….discount offered on new machine which was appreciated.

At the same time as providing a replacement, I happened to need a new brush cutter, as my existing one died. Sam recommended a replacement and I added that to the replacement order…..discount provided and even offered a discount on shipping the extra item.

Both items received quickly and I have tried them out and both appear to be fine….one is a bit hard to start but I’m sure I’ll get the knack!

Overall, excellent company to deal with and don’t be put off by negative Nellie’s who are clearly out to ruin a perfect small business for no valid reason.

£994 shipping charge for a £16 item

I tried to make a purchase and went through the process and was due to be charge £10 shipping. Once I entered my address (mainland UK) they applied a £994 shipping charge to a £16 item. Outrageous and unscrupulous. Just as well I noticed before pushing submit.

Update

Update: Alternative items were sent, and arrived quickly enough so cannot fault them for that. Pity it took so long to be informed of the delay issue, and an alternative.

Poor service. 6 weeks (almost) since the order, and the only contact has been initiated by myself, on 2 ocassions. Now told they've no idea if the items ordered will even be coming in, so offered a (slightly cheaper) alternative (for the first time). Why wasn't I offered this initially? Told it will be sent out today. Hmm. Time will tell of course and I may update this review, depending. If ordering from this company please check with them direct about (a) availability and (b) delivery beforehand. Don't get caught out like myself.

Placed an order for a chainsaw part

Placed an order for a chainsaw part , I hear nothing so 5 days later I ring up to be told it is a non stocking item and has been ordered.Now it MAY be here 9 or 10 days after ordering ,my advise to Mower Magic is “ if you do not stock an item make sure the customer is aware so he can order it off of a company that has it in stock”Easily done on the web site When I placed the initial order it did not say "NOT IN STOCK BUT YOU MAY STILL ORDER " amazingly it now does . An addition ,this is the second time mower magic has done exactly the same thing to me . If the site had said the notice about not in stock with a chainsaw in bits I would have ordered it from somewhere else.

I'm sorry to see that you thought we provided a 1-star service. After requesting your details, I've had a look at your order, and I can see that you ordered a Clutch Drum Assembly on Thursday, the 15th of May, after we had closed.

This part isn't one we keep in the building, but our supplier did have one at the time of order. So, we would have specially ordered this in for you on Friday.

In the product description, we do say that this is a special-order item and may need an extra bit of time to come in. However, I can see that we have received your item from the supplier and marked it for dispatch today, so you should have that by the end of the week.

Considering that this order was placed 4 working days ago, we think this was relatively quick service, compared to other parts that would be ordered from this manufacturer.

In addition to the edit you have made to the review, it looks like since you placed the order, our supplier has ran out of stock of those, and the manufacturer has marked it as obsolete, so you have received the last one available to us.

Apologies that we didn’t meet your expectations. We hope that this part meets your requirements.

NOT in stock!

Another case of a company taking an order for something you believe is in stock, but turns out to be in the possession of their supplier and a week after order, still no idea when you will even receive it. It's just not on and I feel there should be laws requiring the vendor you are contracting with to be clear on this. My purchase should not be dependent on a 3rd party, especially when I'm not told about this beforehand!!

Trying to give the little businesses my business rather than Amazon and this is what it gets me.

Meanwhile, no mower battery in hand with the lawn out of control on growth.

NB 04/04/25: no battery, no delivery date, no remedy. Outrageous.

Very very helpful

3 people at Mower Magic helped me fix my Atco ride-on mower, by talking me through what i should do. They were Don, Mack and Sam and they were brilliant. They gave me their time and expertise even though I didn't end up needing to buy anything from them. Only wish I lived nearer Lincoln so I could use them regularly.

Amazing company

Took my ancient Mountfield petrol mower for a service. Company phoned to say it was only fit for scrap but I ought to call in to see what they could do. Fearing the dreaded scam, I went to meet the delightful Mr Dixon who assuaged my suspicions and provided me with a Mountfield Princess electric machine at an unbelievable price. Delighted to find the spare part I needed

I was delighted to find the small, spare part I needed for my Ryobi shredder. The website had a detailed diagram of the machine with all the parts clearly numbered, so easy to find in the order list. Helpful and responsive customer service.
