Scam crypto
Hello. I have been called by someone who claimed his name is Jordan Chase (one of the many strangers who have called me for the same thing).
This time I have decided to give him a chance, keeping in mind that he didn't mention anything about a further payment from me to be able to get back my lost investment.
He sounded extremely well trained in the art of scamming. (sounded very trustworthy and professional)
He promised he had only called to get me back the investment I lost with Tradingbull before they went out of business.
He had me register with mtgateway.net and do my KYC after I refused to share my screen. I did it all trough the mtgateway.net system. The KYC system estimated verifying waiting time in between 10-15 minutes.
I have waited for around 25 minutes, then I have messaged Jordan on WhatsApp asking him why does it take so much more than the estimated time for me to be verified. He said quote:" You need to communicate with me. Let me talk to them!" In about 1 minute after he said that, I was able log into the account.
Once logged into my account I have seen an unbelievable amount of USD balance all in bitcoin.
Then he hit me with:"You need to pay 4% of the value in a down payment from your bank account into mtgateway.net with a link request money you will get back straight away, to link your mtgateway.net account to your crypto.com account so that you can transfer the funds".
Of course I refused to do so.
Mtgateway.net support claims he is a very well known and reputable member who they have been working with for 15 years (surely scamming together) and that the link request fee is a temporary procedural requirement and is immediately refunded to me once the transfer is successful.
Support said that they do it to ensure secure delivery of funds.
I told them I'll leave my account as it is and invited him to see that the website has very low trust, believed to be a scam, told them that reputable companies don't ask for a further £1000 from your bank account to release a huge amount of money from mtgateway.net especially after doing my KCY. I invited them to take this fee from my bitcoin value: no answer. Told them I will pay Jordan Chase, a the stranger who called me out of the blue a further 1-2% on top of the 5% that the company would pay him for my tranzaction if he will pay this £1000 amount that I will give to him straight back, after my bitcoin amount is transfered into my crypto.com wallet. Jordan gave no answer and mt support said they don't allow that.
The next day, after I told Jordan that I can't afford it, he called me in the morning while I was at work.
Because I was not able to answer my phone, he started texting me to ask me if I was ready to make the transfer that day (the next day after logging in).
I have told him I do not trust him and mtgateway.net website, giving him morals (or trying), and have told him I will not share any money with them.
I have blocked him after 5 hours of waiting for a comeback from him.
I mean, seriously, how and where will I find them if, once I spend all my wages, they suddenly disappear with all my hard and honestly earned money?
Please let me know who else among you have experienced a similar issue, and let's put the scammers in their place, making sure GDPR is respected and not used by them claiming to be us. Let's expose the thieves and not let anyone fall into their trap again!
I value your genuine experience with them and will be so grateful if you would share it and rate it on Trustpilot website and make other people aware if they are dealing with a similar situation.
