Good day
Your agents for the 135 line has a lack of attention. Had to repeat everything I said. I'm also being charged for the router , yet I had given it back and cancelled it almost a month ago. I feel you guys are just good at making excuses and taking people's money unwillingly.

MTN Ruined My Credit Report

I took Contract with MTN back in September 2025, I have to say it is the worst, I have been paying on time, not missing payment even by the day, but they actively trying to destroy my life, they have ruined my credit score, they have put my account in arrears, MTN is the worst internet provider, stay away

Complaint:

I am lodging this complaint after exhausting all internal MTN channels without meaningful progress.

On 5 January 2025, I reported that MTN Billing had deducted R229 from my bank account 82 times, totalling R19,000. These deductions were processed as card transactions, not debit orders, using my card details from a single recurring data bundle purchase (which has since been cancelled).

I have provided MTN with:

the original invoice,
the date of the first deduction, and
a full list of all 82 unauthorised transactions.
Despite this, my issue has not been taken seriously. Customer Service and the Fraud Department have repeatedly given responses that are unrelated, dismissive, or simply incorrect. I have been passed between agents, ignored after follow‑ups, and told that MTN will “get back to me when they are ready.”

On 5 February, I was informed that the matter had been escalated to the Superflex team, who would respond within 48 hours. It is now far beyond that timeframe, and I have received no feedback.

MTN has a known history of similar billing issues, and this experience reflects a concerning pattern.

I am requesting:

Immediate investigation into the 82 unauthorised card transactions,
Full reimbursement of the R19,000 deducted without consent, and
Written confirmation of corrective action to prevent further deductions.
I am willing to cooperate fully, but I need MTN to take responsibility and resolve this matter urgently.

I am extremely upset and disappointed…


I am extremely upset and disappointed by the conduct of MTN regarding my account.

Despite settling all outstanding fees and formally closing my account, MTN has debited money from my bank account again. This is completely unacceptable and amounts to unauthorized deduction.

I have fulfilled all my obligations. I paid the required fees and followed the correct cancellation process. There is no justification for any further debit.

This matter must be treated as urgent. I require:
1. Immediate reversal of the unauthorized debit
2. Written confirmation that my account is fully closed
3. Assurance that no further deductions will occur

If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will have no choice but to escalate it formally. This includes lodging a complaint with the relevant regulatory authorities and pursuing legal action to recover my funds and any related damages.

I expect a response within 48 hours

We signed a 12-month contract at…

We signed a 12-month contract at R499.00 per month.

After the first month, the price was increased to R558.00 with no explanation — the invoice simply reflected the higher amount.

This is very concerning. I have logged a complaint and am awaiting resolution.

Proudly offering the worst customer experience in the world!

If you want to experience new lows of incompetence and poor service, just call MTN's call centre on 135.
I guarantee: you will have to call back at least 8 times for the same problem; you will waste several hours of your time; AND as a bonus, your issue will still not be resolved.
This is my experience, every time I have called over the last 3 years.

I would not even give it a one... this is up to shit. Your wifi get so bad that it doesn't even let you watch YouTube because of the internet.. i am really deeply disappointed... you pay so much and get this shit

I cancelled my contract as it was time…

I cancelled my contract as it was time to renew and didn't want to continue. Went it all fine but they never disclosed to.em.or told me the insurance is a seperate cancelation I mean when I cancelled my contract I told them I don't even have the phone anymore common sense dictates you ask about the insurance as well. Now I too that and then got billed for it I've been trying to cancel the insurance for 3 weeks now I can't get through on the phone as my sim card was deactivated. Emails is useless they take forever to respond and are not helpful worst service ever. Don't ever use MTN!! It's not worth it.

Disatisfied customer

I was called by MTN agent that I was due to upgrade, then I agreed to upgrade, the online MTN agent was a lady called Shanique. This Lady told me the upgrade cames with new phone Huawei Nova 14i Black CT, and accessories like charger, cable, smart watch and powerbank. The delivery was done by DSV on the 10th Oct 2025, but no powerbank and smartwatch. Please help

Terrible terrible service provider

Terrible terrible service provider, do not engage their services.
Once they have your contract, you get no support and spend your days chasing customer service.
Hardly ever able to get hold of an advisor on the phone. When you do eventually get in contact with customer services either on the phone or mail, totally not helpful, not flexible and won't offer any support or additional recommendations to try and keep you. Service provider expects you to do all the work and running around.

A dubious and misleading MTN partner company!

Your partner company Cell Network is a dubious and misleading company!
Did an upgrade on one of our MTN contracts on the 30th Sep 2025. The senior upgrades advisor confirmed that the upgrade was approved. Today (7th Oct) when I followed up am being told that the deal is still pending. This is not acceptable. You cannot mislead and blatantly lie to a customer.

Mtn is worst company to ever deal with,
Extremely disappointed with the service I received. My delivery is delayed, and when I reached out to the customer service team for assistance, I'm getting alot of incompetence and a lack of helpfulness. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, I'm not provided with any meaningful support or solutions. The team's inability to address my concerns is shocking. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to their poor service and lack of accountability. 1/5 stars.

I have been defrauded by MTN

Will you please assist me, I have been defrauded by MTN. I have been following up on my refund for almost 2 months without success with MTN South Africa. I have been sent around to all your departments without been helped till now.

I have been through to your cancellations department, billing department, retentions department, credit department, and i don't know how many times.

You can actually check by yourself a trail of all the logged tickets which were closed without being resolved.

I took a home router contract online and I was assured that there was coverage in my area. I paid R765.00 up-front payment on this contract. when it got here it never worked, and i kept calling mtn telling them it is not connecting. On day 2 I was asked to send it to the nearest outlet, which I did. And when I got there they contacted the coverage department. And they confirmed that there was never coverage in my area. I booked back the router to be sent back within 2 days of receiving it. And I provided CCI or CSI Outsourcing with the RMA number confirming that the gadget was returned on the 8th August 2025. I still have not received my refund of R765.00. The issue is that CCI or CSI Outsourcing did not cancel the contract on time, which resulted to an amount of R300.00 being deducted from my credit. And now no one seems to know or must I say there is now within the whole of MTN a department which is able to pass the R300.00 credit back, in order for me to get my whole refund. And no one has ever called me since this whole thing started to give me an update. I am the one who must always chase and call MTN every day. And I am now pissed and exhausted.

I am now coming to this platform because I have exhausted all avenues available to resolve this matter.

Will you please assist me please.

MTN is a kak network provider and they're incompetent

I ordered the home router online, and it was delivered 2 weeks ago. I have reported to them that I'm unable to connect to the router, it's showing "Connected without internet." I've been doing back-to-back with them for a week until the 7 days to return it passed.

I even went to the store in Vangate, but I was still unable to do this thing. That means I will pay for a router that we're not using for 12 months, and they can't even resolve the issue.

They are so incompetent, and I would never advise anyone to choose them & their customer care/coverage is useless.

Today has been my worst experience with…

Today has been my worst experience with MTN. I experienced a frustrating network since last night thinking it will be rectified before the day, dawn. I work remotely and MTN gave me the shock of my life today. Their customer service weren't responsive (it cuts off immediately i was about to speak to them). No communication whatsoever, in all this mess, they even deducted #50 severally from my account for what I didnt subscribed to. This is broad day light robbery. Please rectify my services and every deductions from my account. This is really annoying.

I purchased the 600GB Shesha bundle…

I purchased the 600GB Shesha bundle from MTN, payment was successful, but I never received the data. This has caused serious inconvenience because I work from home and rely on internet access to do my job. Due to this issue, I’ve missed deadlines and important meetings, which is completely unacceptable.

I have tried contacting MTN several times with no proper assistance or resolution. The customer service experience has been frustrating, with no clear answers or timeframes.

MTN, please resolve this matter urgently — either provide the data I paid for or refund me in full. Your failure to deliver has directly affected my work and income.
