Poor experience with all the multiple steps and hoops needed to order furniture.
I ordered furniture in July and they sent an email with instructions on different pay options including a bank transfer and the details needed for that transfer.
I ordered more furniture now in Aug and the email didn’t have those bank transfer details but instead said I should come back to the store to pay. Who wants to go back just to pay?!
I went to the store but they wanted me to use the PIN of my credit card. I never use the PIN as for card card and don’t know it. All credit card transactions are for larger ticket items and or online. I haven’t used a credit card PIN in over a decade if at all. I told them I was happy to sign but they said they could not take a signature form for some safety reason. I was in disbelief as they had asked me to come in person. I don’t want to pay with debit cards on this large ticket as then I’d have no recourse.
I was exploring the disbelief and looking for options when the counter guy started with an attitude. They didn’t understand that their process’s is complicated and flawed. They kept blaming me that I didn’t know my PIN and were leading me to cancel the order — which I did not want to do.
I also spoke with the manager. She was also very, if you’ve ever seen Little Britain, ‘computer says no’. She kept saying that my credit card was the problem and did not want to acknowledge that their process is flawed.
Why would I get one email a month previously where the can pay electronically and one now that requires you to make an inconvenient trip back to the store to pay. They also say you cannot pay with credit card details over the phone.
The manager should be challenged by her own supervisors about the shortcomings in Muji Galeries process and also the lack of open mindedness to customers complaints. She wanted to shut all of that down I suspect and I doubt anything will improve there.
The smarmy front desk guy also was very offputting and dismissive.
Oh and they added an item to the invoice that I didn’t order and wasn’t on my original yellow order form.
