Great solution for a newer laptop. My Levovo doesn't have the lock slot for a cable lock. After a Google search I came across this adapter and watched a few of the videos. I needed it for a trip and it arrived in a few days. Thanks

Nice cable lock system for laptops without cable lock slot. The audio jack mount seems pretty secure. I gave it a few pretty good tugs. I'm sure, if someone wanted your computer, it could be torn out most likely causing damage to the machine. Shouldn't be leaving your laptop alone anyway. Overall I'm very happy to have found this company. Get one. Fast ship from UK to US

I brought a new gaming laptop for Christmas last year. The laptop did not come with a spot where you can lock the laptop(even if the laptop is very expensive). I have been searching everything for a solution which for months I could not come with one. I was just about ready to begin a vacation (which I'm on now writing this review), when I come across your website. I posed the question about locking the laptop when Sham Rahman answered my question. He was real thorough and explain how it would workout. We even made sure this lock would work with my old computer lock(which it did). Sham is a lifesaver and I have been using this lock constantly. You should be giving this guy a raise. He sold me well on it and I am hooked. This lock has been everything I'm looking for. I would totally recommended to anyone.

The laptop lock adapter is okay. Not sure how secure it really is but I think it will do.

After our company purchased us new Macbook Pro computers, my old locking system didn't work. The company that made the old also didn't have a great solution for securing my machine.

With the help of another photographer friend, I learned about Multplx. The locking unit that uses the headphone jack was a great solution to keep my company machine safe while on the pitch.

I welcomed the availability of the Multplx security slot adapter for laptops without a security slot. We have installed the ones purchased on several of my laptops. We feel better about walking away from our laptops for short durations. There was some reversation about the Multplx harming the headphone ports where the Multplx is inserted. However, normally any headset or speaker is connected to via Bluetooth wirelessly there has not been any effort to test whether the headphone/speaker jack has been damaged due to the use of the Mutlplx security slots inserted. I am not sure just how secure my laptops are with the Multplx security slot adapter. But I do know no one can just walk off with any of my laptops that lacks a security slot anymore. Prior to the Mutlpx there was no real options to prevent target of opportunity laptop pilfering

I cant remember what I purchased.

The concept is great, but the execution (at least in my case) is lacking. The screw that expands the insert and binds the device to the laptop was stuck. The included screwdriver would not stay in the slot. I took it apart and tried to move the screw with other tools but it would not budge. A hex key instead of a flat head would have been a better choice.

Also, it looks like once it's engaged it's not removable. I was hoping for something that would allow for the removal of the device to gain access to the audio port if necessary.

UPDATE:

After posting the initial review Multplx contacted me and offered to send a replacement as they believed that the original unit was defective.

With the replacement device, I was able to turn the screw and extend the locking mechanism.

I can confirm that the product works are designed and is removable once it is disengaged.

I have bought Multplx-products before, I will keep doing it.

First of all, I received a great service from Multplx, calling me directly as it showed in their record that I have not yet received the product within the expected time. He promised to check on it within 48 hours and will send a replacement product via Fedex. The next day, they already shipped the replacement product to me. I was very impressed with the service that was given to me. Secondly, the product in itself was great as it addresses a specific need and it's a very smart solution. Thirdly, back to the customer service, Multplx provided me with a discount code on my followup order for the cable and fix point. They made the price closer to the combo. Excellent service and excellent product.

Surprised at how easy it works! And the delivery was less than 1 week!

Aside from the outrageously amazing customer service (personally reaching out to me to double check if the address is correct, and then going out of their way to fix an issue with the address and dealing with fed-ex etc) - which is pretty much unheard of these days… the product itself is amazing. It’s intuitive, compact and feels like a quality product. Am using it at a conference to secure my laptop and at night, securing the 32” display.

100% recommend this product and all round and excellent service and purchase.
