Wow, I must say this is such a cheap move from Musicbed. I subscribed for 1 year and barely used it so I never thought much of it. Suddenly I got an email saying I just renewed for another year. I thought shit I forgot to turn it off, oh well now I'm stuck with it for another year.
Logged in to turn it off and guess what? You can't turn it off until 30 days before it renews. The reason is "to avoid interrupted user-experience". I mean really? That's some bs. You already have my money for an entire year! If you are worth it, I will continue using it. Don't force me to stay and pray for me to forget cancelling in time.
Like come on Musicbed, are you really THAT poor that you must make money this way?
I will NEVER go back to Musicbed, nor will I recommend it to anyone!
To Musicbed: you claim doing this is for the benefit of the customers, that "for our clients who work with a high volume of projects, a delay like that can be detrimental to their workflow". What delay? You mean my account just gets deleted in one day if I don't have an active subscription? Please save me the BS! Don't be so obvious in treating me like a stupid person, please!
Let me help you: let us cancel anytime and IF we enjoy your service and for some godforbidden reason can't live without it, we WILL renew.
Yes you make sure to send me one reminder 30 days before but that is, thank god for taking your time! You know one single email can easily get lost.
I know you don't care one bit but you lost a potential customer. You COULD have made more money out off me but no.

Beware this company. I took out a trial subscription and cancelled within a week, as required. Apparently they have no record of this and have started billing me every month. Contacted them to cancel but they require me to pay even more money to cancel. I was willing for them to keep the 2 mos they already charged, but to require another $400, just to cancel. is a bad business policy. Again, beware of these guys.

Musicbed replied to minor issues promptly after the New Year, and everything was resolved smoothly. They also provide updates when an issue requires unavoidable waiting time. I highly recommend this service for my YouTube content because of their responsive customer support (and, of course, their great music library!)

Honestly, they have the best selection of music I have found. The songs are all super high quality and genuinely evoke emotions which is what I am searching for as a filmmaker. The only negative is their sound effects library which is lacking and difficult to search.

I've had a mixed experience with Musicbed. The platform itself is great - easy to use, easy to navigate, and the copyright validation system through YouTube is super fast and efficient.
I have also had a really great experience with Musicbed's support team! They're lovely, helpful, and respond to queries quickly.
However, I've had a terrible experience with Musicbed's remediation person. Despite answering all the prompts accurately when setting up our account, it turns out we were on the wrong subscription level. That's totally fine and I'm happy to be corrected. But the way the remediation person handled the situation leaves a lot to be desired:
- They emailed me a couple of times to address the issue (unfortunately, their emails ended up in my junk folder and I didn't see them - not their fault!)
- But then they simply suspended my account, locking me out of it (I got stuck in a loop where I thought the account had been hacked and/or something else had gone terribly wrong). I reached out to Musicbed support to get this resolved.
- I was informed that not only was my account suspended, but that I was technically in copyright breach (!!!!) until/unless I paid more money to upgrade my account.
- Again, I was happy to upgrade the account...but the rationale I was given was dodgy. Musicbed offered me vague and shifting reasons as to why I needed to upgrade. It was only after some argument back-and-forth that they pointed me to a specific ToS rationale, which I accepted.
- All the way along, the remediation person was unhelpful, rude, and demanding.
The TL;DR is that, while I completely accept the need for the account level change...I felt like I went through the wringer to get there. It was an awful, jarring, stressful experience.
I think Musicbed is a great platform. But I strongly urge the company to sort out its remediation approach, as it does not at all align with the rest of the experience and risks turning customers away. I am unlikely to extend my subscription after the first year, and I'm spreading the word to other creators about the experience I had, advising them to avoid Musicbed for this reason. I believe this is a net negative for Musicbed, which is very unfortunate.

While the service is okay, Music bed will trap you into an inescapable subscription. They make it impossibly difficult to cancel your subscription and charge you $114 in order to cancel. So if you are considering MB as a temporary or trial solution then look elsewhere.
- Since they replied, ask yourself, "Why would I be limited to being able to cancel my subscription to 30 days prior to the renewal period?" The only answer is that they intentionally try to make it as difficult as possible while being able to say, "technically we give you a small window to cancel your subscription!" This is a DIGITAL service, it should not require a cancelation window or cancelation fee to cancel the service. It's just shady business practice that I hope to bring to light so less people get scammed like me.
