Leo is a wonderful tutor and helped me secure a place at Imperial College for Mathematics. He is amazing at breaking down concepts in an easy and understandable way, and guiding your thinking in the right direction without revealing the answer. It felt like he was truly invested in my success and I had his full support and expert advice throughout the process. I have also worked with him at the Summer School of Science, where he was an incredible mentor and paid careful attention to the individual needs of students. Leonardo is one of the greatest educators and presenters I have encountered in my career so far.

Leo is an amazing tutor who helped my daughter gain a place at Imperial College to study Maths. He is a very humble person whilst being exceptionally good at his job. My daughter rates him very highly. His method of teaching is unique to other Maths tutors. He helps the student to work their own way towards the answers using critical thinking and through discussion rather than telling them how to resolve the problem. He is very talented in helping the students gain confidence and understand complex topics. Leo assists with the journey towards the University entrance exams including interview practise and analysis. He is a very respectful person and I would have no hesitation in recommending Leo to other students. My daughter found him exceptional and benefitted from his teaching.

I had the privilege of being tutored by Leonardo from my second year of A-Levels and throughout my undergraduate degree in Physics. Leonardo approached tutoring in a way that was beyond amazing for me, focusing not only on the individual concepts within specific topics but also on showing how everything links together, which ultimately led me to become a much better physicist than I could have imagined.

I first met Leonardo at the 2022 Summer School of Science, which he organized and led as President of a non-profit “Society for Outside-the-Box Education”. From my first day there, I recognized the immense quality of the School, largely attributable to Leonardo’s expertise and research experience, as well as his deep empathy in teaching and communicating with students.

I was initially assigned a proteomics workshop, but had to change projects midweek due to my mentor’s illness. After talking to me to better understand my interests, Leonardo decided to challenge me with a tough physics project—one I liked, but was not confident I could manage. This proved to be a great call. I blossomed on this project, and more importantly, gained the confidence to pursue things I find difficult, all thanks to Leonardo. I have never had an educator demonstrate such great judgment—someone who knows how to push a student to reach their full potential gently.

After the School, Leonardo and I continued working together when he mentored me through my 2023 university applications. He provided guidance on all fronts, teaching me to structure my CV and showcase my strengths in motivational letters, while also tutoring me in the calculus topics missing from my high school curriculum. In preparation for my Cambridge Physics interview, he taught me how to best approach complex problems, organize my ideas, and present my answers with confidence. With his support, I secured offers for my top choices: Biophysics at King’s College, Life Science and Technology at Groningen University, and Biomedicine at Karolinska University.

Most recently, Leonardo helped me get into my dream master’s program at ETH Zürich. He worked closely with me to refine my motivational letter, frame my research and academics effectively, and prepare a strong application for financial aid.

Thanks to Leonardo’s long-term guidance, I am attending my dream program at a leading university—and through his kind mentorship, I gained the confidence to apply in the first place. Leonardo is a knowledgeable, empathetic educator and a true joy to work with.

Leonardo has great teaching skills, he is very kind and approachable and makes it easy to ask questions and to be curious without feeling scared or intimidated, and also gives great both life advice and advice concerning education and future careers. He easily motivates people and helps them feel more confident about themselves and their skills.
Aside from that, he is also a great teacher and amazing at lecturing. He presents in a great way that makes a topic understandable to everybody, while still explaining everything in detail without oversimplifying, and also makes it interactive so that everyone can think and participate.

Leonardo is an excellent mentor who I've been working with for several years now. As a fellow tutor, he helped me by giving detailed and useful advice whenever I asked, ranging from pedagogy to explaining some details in the inner workings of IB, GCSE and A level school systems. Together we succesfully prepared many students for various entrance exams, including ESAT, TMUA, STEP, SAT, PAT etc. All this was possible not just because of his expertise and attention to detail, but also his warm and cheerful personality.

He also gave a talk about his PhD dissertation topic of nanomagnetism during the S3 summer school of science where he was able to explain a complicated topic in a way which high school students could understand while not losing detail, which is really appreciated especially for students interested in science like me. I will always remember Leonardo for his dedication, hard work and guidance!

Leonardo is an amazing academic advisor who has so much knowledge and experience and guides his students in the best way possible for their future education and careers. He is also a phenomenal teacher and role model, he not only gives out so much valuable theoretical information in his teaching methods, but also incorporates many modern experimental techniques in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding.
