👎 Avoid Painter Adam – Tradespeople Beware
I signed up as a tradesman thinking PaintAdam would bring me work—but they take a massive 28% commission off every job. That’s nearly a third of your pay for minimal benefits. There’s no real support, and you’re often left chasing payments or dealing with mess-ups on your own.
I’ve seen multiple complaints from customers too—jobs cancelled at short notice, poor workmanship, and unprofessional behavior. It feels like the company profits off tradespeople without delivering a fair or reliable service.
Tradesmen, unless their model changes, look elsewhere. And customers—be cautious who you hire to avoid unnecessary hassle.

Disappointed by Sudden Price Hike

I didn’t end up using their services. After receiving and confirming a quote based on a detailed floor plan I provided, they assigned a contractor. Shortly after, I received a call informing me that there had been a "miscalculation" and the quoted price would increase by 50%.

Given the significant and unexpected price change, I chose to cancel the job and will not be using their services in the future.

We always aim to provide accurate quotes by discussing all key details during the initial phone call with our customers. For jobs under £2,000, we never require any upfront payments, and for larger projects, any deposit is fully refundable if the job does not go ahead.

While occasional miscalculations can unfortunately happen, our process is designed so that before any work begins, the assigned professional walks through the property with the customer to confirm all details. If there are any updates or extra requirements beyond the original scope, these are only carried out if mutually agreed.

Don’t book unless you want let down

Don’t book unless you want let down - what a joke - after back and forth phone calls I booked in a date to get walls painted - painter completely vanished - he didn’t turn up after messaging me saying he will be there 2 days before the appointment- oh and not only that- he decided instead of the start date being what was booked he would just come a day later without my knowledge until I phoned the company to find out what’s going on - on the paint day, I was waiting and messaged him - no reply no phone calls no communication completely vanished - I had an overall rubbish experience and I will NOT be booking anything with them - till this day still not heard what happened to him and I’ve been let down once again

Friendly and great standard of work

I hired through the company for work in my flat involving wall preparation (including wallpaper removal, repairs and sanding) and painting all walls, skirting boards and most doors after having had a rewire. The two painters who arrived were very courteous and friendly. The painter I spoke to (João) gave consistent updates on when they would arrive for each day. I also received a walk through or pictures at the end of each work day to show what they had done. João repaired one of my skirting boards and went above and beyond to paint above our bay window despite all our furniture and curtains in the way. Would recommend anyone to go with the company for the same works as they were one day earlier finished than scheduled and did a very thorough and neat job!

Quick solution, happy outcome

I had a let down with my original painter, but after I got in contact with Painter Adam my quote was sent promptly and sorted me out with a painter in 2 days which i find was quite fast and efficient. The customer service from the Painter Adam team was good and fast. Painter did a good job, arrived on time and carried out the assignment as agreed. Found the experience quite smooth and easy!

We were nervous as we had never used…

We were nervous as we had never used this company before and it all seemed a bit too good to be true. I was called back the same day I enquired and the painter was her a few days later.
He did a fantastic job and finished our room in half a morning. :)

Very good service

I had a very good service from Adam . The whole process was very professional from start to finish .
Initial planning with Sam was made easy by the tick box form .She was very helpful and was able to answer my queries . I was surprised at how quickly I was able to be matched with a painter
Dan,a very pleasant man, rang me before the date to agree paint colours etc .He turned up on time and was very efficient at completing the work .He left everything tidy when he left .
I am very pleased with my newly painted rooms .He did a great job.

I had such high hopes

I had such high hopes, but my experience was awful. From the start, the painter was late and made constant excuses. I tried to call Adam, but received no response. I was told at the beginning that the job would take three days, but it ended up taking ten days, and even then, the flat was left in a terrible state, requiring a huge cleanup on our part. They spray-painted over the smoke detectors, causing £1,000 worth of damage. They painted the front door without taking it off its hinges, which meant we couldn’t get in or out, and we had to hire a handyman to fix it. I still paid, but reluctantly, and the whole experience left a bad taste.

Unfortunately, we did not receive any responses to these efforts, and despite being told that documentation would be shared, no photos were received until July 14th - several weeks after our initial conversation.

We understand that you chose to settle the invoice despite being dissatisfied with the outcome, and we respect that decision. However, we’d like to note that as of today, no payment has been received on our end.

Regarding the specific issues mentioned such as delays, the condition of the property, and damage caused we are investigating this matter internally, as this is not reflective of the standards we hold ourselves to.

I Had the most bad experience they are…

I Had the most bad experience they are a team of scammers very very dangerous they hire people and put them to provide the materials paint… then you work as a stupid the client signed the agreement and then they don’t pay so you work for free I contact them weeks and because some touch up the client doesn’t pay and they don’t want to go back to finish so they work together with the costumer and we work for free guys never work for Irish people they are scammers too this Company refused to pay me may God revenge me

You cannot price a job without seeing…

You cannot price a job without seeing it their instant qoute is a joke if they over estimate the price you wont get the difference back if it turns out cheaper if its under estimated you pay more if job goes well depending on contractor your okay but if it doesn't go well your in trouble so you take a chance, they dont know these contractors only from photos of jobs they supposedly did , like who are they were is their shop were is their address
