Excellent service (en français en plus!): everytime I phoned, someone answered and there is clearly in this Company a strong dedication to making the clients happy (and making their business flourish, which is the name of the game!). Tulip Table / Knoll / Eero Saarinen (marble dining table)
I received my Eero Saarinen marble dining Tulip Table (Knoll) 2nd week of February 2019 and I am so happy with it!
It took a while: ordered it during Cyber Sunday (end November 2018), but the price was great (25% off normal retail price) and I already expected a longer delivery time.
Table base and top were in original packaging so safely secured and during the process I was pretty well informed.
Do note, you can watch the progress of your order in your account overview on the website, but info is not very elaborate. You need to proactivly request information regarding updates on shipping date, full invoice details, etc. But once you do, response time by e-mail is around 1 to 2 workdays. I don’t mind a little bit of extra chasing for that price!
Shipping in The Netherlands (where I live) was handled by a small Dutch transport company and they were very friendly: calling me in advance to set a date an delivery time and kindly helped the table up to the 1st floor of my house ( and marble is not a light weight material I can yell you that!).
All in all, I had a good experience with myareadesign and would def. recommend if you want a really good price for an original design piece and don’t mind a small bit of chasing for an update.

Delivery and packaging problem
I ordered a Vogel OP1 TV stand (a handmade unit that costs over €800). The package arrived with all the internal protection missing and with metal and wooden parts just rattling around in the box. This had caused damage to the parts.
It was clear that the item had previously been opened and re-packed (poorly). MyAreaDesign were polite at all times and did respond but it took a further 4 months to obtain a replacement for the damaged unit and then only by asking the manufacturer for assistance.
The replacement unit arrived in perfect condition with excellent packaging and it was clear that the unit had not been opened since leaving the factory.
I suggested to MyAreaDesign that they might refund the very expensive delivery charge of €53 due to the very long delays and that the first unit was previously opened (and subsequently damaged) stock and that to protect the stand i was returning from further damage I used the excellent factory packaging (to return the original item) and was left with the incomplete packaging for the retained unit.
They wouldn't refund the delivery charge and claimed (may have been lost in translation) that the new packaging with the replacement stand was extra protection they had made. It is true that the product box was enclosed in a further external box but the factory sealed product box had a whole series of bespoke compartments and protection - and lovely presentation - that were totally missing from the first item they sent.
So although the problem was finally resolved, the delay, my time lost resolving it, and the fact the original product was not a new unopened unit was unacceptable - hence the single star rating.

Dear Customer, as we’ve previously explained, the first shipment has been made directly from our supplier warehouse (to be able to ship faster) so using the stand package the give for this item and in the one you’ve received the product the first time.
To ship safety the second time, we asked to ship the new support in our warehouse and after we ship to your address so our warehouse workman has been able to make a proper and safety packaging for this item for the new shipment for you. The delivery cost for this item to Portugal you’ve paid is 53 € Instead, we’ve paid much more (3 times this cost) because of the collection and new delivery of course our charge, this is also the reason for which we’ve not been able to accept to make the refund as costs for us were already elevated. We hope you can understand our position in this situation. Every day we try to do our best to give the better services we can and we are really sorry that it hasn’t be like this for you already at the first shipment because of courier or not proper standard packaging but we are happy that to the end you’ve got anyway the correct and conform product. Of course it wasn’t our intention letting you fully unsatisfied as you’ve expressed. We are sorry for how your order got but please be sure we’ve do our best to let you have the correct conform standard products in the shortest times depending on supplier availably and logistics times.
