Booked a condo several months prior to Memorial Day weekend. They contacted me 30 days prior to check in, asking for final payment, which I provided. They charged my credit card, then emailed me 3 hours later saying they needed to cancel the booking as the condo had been sold. They emailed me other options which did not suit my needs. The property that was the best of the 3 options they sent me was $700 more. They told me to cancel the VRBO and I could book through them directly. No offer of providing the alternate property for the same price. This trip was not a vacation; it was a trip to see my active duty son who I have not seen in 5 months. I had to request that my money be refunded and scramble to find a property 4 weeks prior to a busy holiday. They left my family in a bind as I tried to find a property that suited our family size and was close enough to his base to align with military regulations.
