Off to a false start by receiving a laptop with a battery which didn't hold it's charge! However, this company's customer service was brilliant and the faulty laptop was picked up the following day along with the delivery of a perfect replacement. Quality laptop delivered in good time, in excellent condition, properly prepared software-wise.
I couldn't fault them - at the price, I was expecting to find a few niggles but there was nothing. Top marks.

My Cheap Laptop sells very good refurbished laptops at good prices
Over recent years (it’s now 2023) I have bought, from My Cheap Laptop, two laptops, one small HP a couple of years ago, to travel with and earlier this year a Dell 15.5” laptop for daily use.
Plus I have bought our cleaner her laptop so she can run her business on that.
All three laptops work very well. No problems at all. They all arrived securely packaged and with all the apps and accessories required.
It was a pleasure buying from that company.
I recommend My Cheap Laptop to anyone wanting a well refurbished laptop at very reasonable prices.

Disappointed from Plymouth
Having been really pleased with a previous recon laptop from the company, I bought a 2nd one, and (my fault) did not read the tiny print stating there was no webcam and the battery was only guaranteed to hold a 30 min charge. These things should be written in red!
I called and felt that there was no flexibility for a returning customer, and was just pointed to the details on the advertisement. Now returning it.

If an item is listed without a webcam, usually this is because none of the items have a webcam, therefore even if we wanted to swap it we couldn't.

Misleading next day delivery claim and extraordinary battery life guarantee.
I bought a refurbished Surface Pro netbook and I am happy with it from a speed and condition point of view, however, I found the "next day delivery" misleading. Apparently it doesn't mean "next day after receiving the order" but "next day after they have got it ready for despatch" which in my case was 5 days.
My other complaint is that the battery does not even last 2 hours, however, when I contacted them, they said that they only guarantee the battery for 30 minutes which I find extraordinary.

We are sorry that you are disappointed with the battery life of your product and the delivery time also.
All items have a "delivery estimate" showing near the top of the page, just above the "product variation" options in which you select to specify your item. We always aim to get your item to you as fast as we can but we do offer a date range as like you have pointed out the order has to be readied for dispatch. This is due to the fact that we offer a varied range of options you can choose from in order to make your refurbished product the best suited to you as possible.
There is a guaranteed next day page on our website where it shows a range of items in which we have pre-loaded and ready to send out. Anybody who chooses an item from this page is able to pay for a guaranteed next day service if they place their order before 3pm.
In regards to battery life, we do only guarantee batteries to last a minimum of 30 minutes. However this is a minimum guarantee and not how long we expect the battery to last. We can see that you have stated 2 hours and that you are disappointed which we can understand, however please be aware that any battery in a refurbished item according to the manufacturer is out of guarantee and deemed as end of life. As a company, we do not feel you can offer an item with 0% health battery, therefore we guarantee that it will last for a period of time and expect it to last a lot longer than this guarantee.
We are aware that Surface Pro's are advertised with long life batteries, however this lifespan is based on little to no work being undertaken on the device and also from brand new.
Overall we can understand your frustration and hope that it does not put you off of purchasing from us in the future. Shambles on the phone, management refused to take ownership of the situation, and instead left tech support to deal with return and full refund. Gutless.

I can see from the information provided that you had an issue with a touchpad on the item delivered to you and it was collected from your home the very next working day and refunded once returned.
Unfortunately we are retailing used electrics and things can go wrong from time to time.
We are sorry you felt that management refused to take ownership of the situation. Our opinion is that a technician is best placed to try ad help in a situation with a fault on a laptop. They then have the authority to raise collection and refund requests where as a manager may not have the technicians knowledge to support you with your issue the best we can.
Overall we are disappointed that you had a problem with your order but equally we feel we did our best to try and resolve this for you at the time.
We fully respect the difference of opinion but we just wish to make clear that you received an item with an issue, remote support was attempted and a refund was offered and received.

The one we were disappointed in, replaced promptly we had to pay postage but gave us discount of the next one. We will continue to use them and would recommend. Swift despatch
Swift despatch. 1st laptop failed. quickly recieved a new conditioned one. However that one keeps telling me it's got errors and a corrupted microsoft. I also got glimpses of previous owner's settings. Uninstalled and reinstalled microsoft to no avail. So yes, swift service but laptops not totally cleaned and I feel uncomfortable. Will purchase a new and not a reconditioned. Sorry

We arew sorry that you are somewhat disappointed with your purchase.
First and foremost, we can guarantee that there is no "previous User" information stored on any machines in which are sold by us.
You may be relating to the "administrator" account in which has to be created in order to setup the PC. The PC is then reset under the Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher program and is setup ready for 1st use for it's new owner where you have to accept the EULA and offer your details in order to log in.
All data on any item in which we sell is destroyed and certificated either by us or by the previous owner.
In regards to the errors you are seeing, this can be one of many things including virus or malware contracted while browsing the internet. If your item is experiencing issues, please feel free to contact us as although we do not officially cover software issues under warranty, we always want to help and would therefore be happy to help you with your issues either remotely or physically in the way of a warranty return if required.
