Because you use the same software that other DIY expat software sites use, your only point of differentiation is in your Customer Service. Your "chat" widget was never "manned", offers to leave a message were leveraged at least five times, yet I never received any answers. This just drives frustration and wastes time. I have used other DIY platforms (same software) and found them to be infinitely more responsive. I decided to try your service as I know that my returns will soon be more complex than I can handle on my own. I wanted to see what simple Customer Service was like to inform my decision with respect to the hiring of a service level in which my taxes would be prepared for me. This company is now off my list for consideration.

As an added insult, I paid more for the non-service I received from your site than I have paid for other more responsive sites.

This is the third year we have use MyExpatTaxes to prepare our U.S. returns. It is efficient, easy to follow, requests information in an understandable way, and is Costa effective. We had no issues with our submissions.

Very easy to use

Until finding MyExpatTaxes, I was terrified of doing my US taxes. Now thanks to this program it is so easy and stress-free. I first used MyExpatTaxes when I had a particular complex tax situation that no expensive 'tax expert' I could find could help me with; I got great advice and guidance from MyExpatTaxes that led me to a satisfactory resolution and I have filed with them ever since.

The software was very user friendly and the process was seamless.

Really useful service. I'd been paper filing for years because my spouse is a non-resident alien and I couldn't efile without an ITIN number for him. MyExpatTaxes made it simple to sort out online, and corrected some minor things I've been doing wrong. My return was rejected twice because of errors and the communication was really good, even on the Basic plan.

Gave 4 stars because some of it glitched a little on mobile and I had to switch to a laptop, but I probably shouldn't be trying to do my taxes on my phone anyway!

After moving to Portugal I find that My Expat taxes gives just enough guidance that we can still file ourselves. Because we have a business we have the level which allows for a review which is very helpful. Highly recommend.
