Total incompetence and a shocking lack…

Total incompetence and a shocking lack of urgency. They received my package on Tuesday, but it took them 48 hours to add it to my account—Thursday—after apparently linking it to someone else with the same name. Within 5 minutes of it showing up in my account, I paid for DHL Express shipping. Naturally, they didn’t ship it that day; they waited another 24 hours. Now it’s Friday, 4 PM CET, and all they’ve done is create a DHL label—it hasn’t even been handed over to DHL yet.

It’s a complete lack of care, like they’re some sluggish, state-owned operation. I’m baffled how they’re still in business. Someone needs to build a better service—receiving and shipping is as basic as it gets—and put these guys out of the game.

myGermany experience

Overall the best solution I've found so far for shipping packages from Germany to Singapore. However, the shipping rates are still a little high in general.

Dodgy--avoid

While myGermany was helpful initially, when a product arrived damaged and I tried to claim on the insurance they had sold me they simply ignored my emails.

I can highly recommend it

I can highly recommend it. I ordered something from the UK, and customs & shipping can be paid in advance through UPS, which is very convenient since I usually don't have cash at home. You can store and collect orders for up to 30 days for free. The shipping itself took only 3 days from mygermany team to me.

E-bike to Japan

I asked my Germany to arrange the shipping of an e-bike plus an additional lithium battery from Germany to Japan. The bike arrived from Czechia and was initially stored in myGermany warehouse under my name. I got pictures to check the content. After that, they arranged shipping to Japan as "dangerous goods". Needless to say there were many concerns and points to be clarified in the process, taxes, custom fee etc. The freight team answered all my questions in a timely fashion and the shipment arrived safe and in time as planned. According to my calculation the quoted cost included a 20% markup on the original shipping cost as their fee. I find this reasonable given the reliable service. I can recommend MyGermany.

If you want to waste your money and…

*Update - Still no communication, no resolution. It's great that my Germany posted a reply, but unfortunately there has been no further communication. **

If you want to waste your money and time, try using MyGermany to ship your items. The consolidation and repacking service is horrible. I paid for the highest level of packing protection and messaged them about making sure the items were packed well. The items that they packed for me arrived in a cobbled together box with banding used to hold the various pieces of cardboard together in some sort of box like shape. The items inside this makeshift package were smashed into little pieces. I immediately contacted the company to notify them of the damages to order# pSD1638901 and to start a shipping damage claim. This is when communication suddenly became non-existent. The customer service rep Dora advised me to contact the claims department. The claims department never did respond with any sort of claim form or information about status. I finally got Dora to at least tell me what exact info they needed from me to start the claim and I was able to provide that through the chat feature online and provided it directly to her. I then repeatedly followed up with emails and calls (of which no one answered). I spent months trying to get claim status information from this company and got complete silence in return. I emailed the president of the company and got no response either! Beware of using these people! They just take your money.

I love using myGermany, but there could be some improvements

I love using myGermany, and I've shipped over 15 boxes, but recently, their service has started to decline. Whenever I email with questions or need help resolving issues (like missing pictures, further instructions, missing packages etc), it takes a week to get a response that is incomplete or not helpful. I think communication could be better, such as providing notice that a major shipping carrier like UPS is no longer an option or that shipping rates are increasing or decreasing.

I hope myGermany will add more employees to their customer service and consolidation team to improve the experience.

Work On Your Business Processes & Staff Training

UPDATE:
After scouring the internet, we managed to get in touch with the CEO via email who finally made things start moving again. Christian has been great in pushing the team to expedite the delivery and we have received our items in time for our second child’s arrival. The process is indeed easy but the initial experience was unfortunately soured.

This is a legitimate company with some great potential but they require some revamping in procedures and/or staff training to prevent these incidents and experiences.

Christian, thank you for following up with us. You are the sole reason I am adding 3 stars to my original review in hopes that there is a change in the business flows. I hope and wish you and your company the very best of success. I do hope to do business again with you in future, with much less trouble of course. Cheers & thank you.

INITIAL:

I used MyGermany to purchase and forward a bed back in December. It has now been over a month, and there is still NO update on the status of the bed on my account page or anywhere else.

I emailed the merchant and they managed to confirm that there was an order by myGermany Concierge and that it was delivered to them on Jan 10th. I understand Christmas is just over, but how many weeks does it take to reply emails and calls? We are okay with delays but some replies are required to manage expectations (i.e. we are busy with backlogs, or customs are delayed)

This level of service is completely baffling. This experience, which started out great with prompt replies on inquiries, has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing after payment has been made.

And now, with a newborn on the way in a few months, we are in limbo wondering if we should look for another bed for our toddler who is eagerly awaiting her new bed, or do we wait for this one. Or do we end up with 2?

Highly recommended

Highly recommended. I've used them on multiple occasions, was always satisfied with their professionalism. They saved me a lot of money.

I am only giving them 4 stars for the last shipment I did through them, previous interactions are all 5 stars. My last order was 2 weeks before December and they where too busy to forward it in time before Christmas. But they got back to my emails the next day, apolgized and assured me everything was OK and moving ahead, just it will take a bit more than usual.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs! Email responses are mostly non existent. As others have said, they ignore half if not most of the email and respond with just a few worlds. I've been waiting 6 days for a shipment I PAID FOR which has still not been shippped. Emails since have gone unanswered, both my goods and payment for shipping is in limbo.

thanks for submitting the data in TrustPilot.

Your package value was over 1000 EUR, so we are forced by German customs to draft an export declaration wherefore we need your Power of Atorney and some data for the shipment. This has takesn some while. Customs has to release your package, wherefore we had to wait. Between holidays they didnt work properly, just as we dont.

Can you let me know where we should have acted differently in order to avoid your 1star review?

Can't go wrong with myGermany

myGermany is the perfect package forwarding service from Germany! myGermany checks so many boxes (pun intended): Multiple carriers are offered, they work with typically restricted items, and they offer consolidation and other services.
