Company stopped replying to emails and failed to refund me
I bought a corner LED line lamp from My Lumo LTD on their website , after initially discovering them via an ad on Instagram. Initially my interactions with the company were positive: they answered my queries about whether the lamp had Warm White and Cold White LEDs (it did, they said) and helped with an ordering issue and offered a discount code.
The lamp itself was disappointing; a generic mass-produced product with a Lumo logo sticker stuck to the box. There was no 3 pin power adapter and used USB power only. The poorly printed single sheet of instructions didn't entirely match the product and totally omitted how to connect the lamp to WiFi to control via a generic Tuya app. It also didn't have the warm white and cold white LEDs I'd enquired about. As such, I contacted Lumo politely advising them of my disappointment, the issues I'd had connecting it to the app, and requested a refund. They accepted and provided a return address.
That was the last I ever heard from My Lumo. I received no further replies to my emails querying the status of my refund, no acknowledgement that my return was received by them (it was, as confirmed by the courier), no reply to direct messages on Instagram and crucially, no refund was ever received.
After submitting a Visa debit dispute claim via my bank, they were eventually able to successfully retrieve my funds from My Lumo and I now have my money back.
