USE THIS COMPANY! Beware of fraud in this sector. Many companies offer a low fee, non-refundable 48 hours from pick-up hour. So they have you hostage. They turn up and start jacking the price - wrong sized boxes, van too small, awkward parking, items too heavy, item not on manifest etc etc. YOU WILL PAY £100’s and £100’s OF POUNDS MORE, or what? Cancel the non-refundable contract? Not move on the day you planned. YOU WILL PAY!! YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!

Add to this that other companies do not give a fu*k. ‘Do not stack’ boxes get stacked. ‘Fragile’ means nothing. ‘Leave in x room’ - means everything piled in room closest to front door. If anything is damaged in the move you will never, never see any compensation.

GO CHEAP ON MOVERS AND YOU WILL PAY MUCH MORE FOR MUCH LESS - and god only help you if anything gets broken!

The cheap end of the sector operates a bait-and-switch business model. The quoted price will be a fraction of the final price. They will have you by the balls and they know it. This is their business model. They don’t care if you will be a repeat customer. People don’t move houses often. For them, there are enough new mugs moving houses each day that retention is not a priority. Wringing you dry is their only priority.

DONT MAKE MOVING DAY WORSE. It’s stressful enough. USE OCTOPUS FOR A SECURE, HASSLE FREE, PROFESSIONAL SERVICE.

I am in no way affiliated with Octopus movers. I am a victim of a cheaper company. My simple city to city, ground floor to ground floor, basic 2 bed house, straightforward as fu*k move eventually took 48 hours and 3 times the original quote.

If you fall for a quote that looks too good to be true - it is. Don’t be a mark! If you want to join the revolution against sh*tty business practices, pass this on. Save yourself, safe your mates and fu*k the cu*ts over.

We hired Octopus Moving company to bring a piano for our kids and the experience was quite great. They had to be creative as the house had been remodeled and it was close to impossible to get it out. Reasonable pricing and excellent service.

From the very moment i called their office my questions were answered, clear quote was done and we could easily schedule the move for the upcoming week. Pretty short notice , but Alex could accommodate it fast.
They do know how to handle things the right way. Everything was wrapped in pads and plastic wrap like museum art pieces . Will definitely come back
