Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 235 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently struggled with the mobile application, reporting endless loading errors, frustrating login failures, and verification codes that never arrived. Many people experienced severe difficulties trying to process payments, because credit cards were repeatedly rejected and unexpected convenience fees added substantial frustration. However, some customers also noted that poor network signals in remote parking areas made accessing the digital platform nearly impossible. Reviewers additionally complained about receiving expensive parking fines after experiencing system failures or being unable to complete transactions successfully. Visitors mentioned that physical cash alternatives were frequently unavailable or broken, leaving them stranded without viable payment options.

Problems paying

Tried to pay online. It kept saying it had failed. Tried calling 2 numbers. One cut off; the other could not understand the name 'Vauxhall'. Wasted 30 minutes trying to pay. SO frustrating 😡

Registering with Ringo

Registering with the app is a nightmare.
Request a code 10 times Change your password 10 times Password not recognised
Code already requested
Less pain getting a ticket 😡

Coincidence - yes ok!!

No concerns about the use of the app etc and ease of use but: I rarely use the app and park in one of their sites but within an hour of me getting home I receive a text (scam obviously) telling me I had parked in wrong place and owed Govt site a fine! Contacted RingGo help and was assured it was just a coincidence that somebody knew I had parked earlier and they just happened to have my phone number!! Somehow I doubt that.

This is a hideous site to use

This is a hideous site to use, and in a parking situation, the company has you over a barrel. There is no phone help if you need to download and use the app. I struggled - and gave up - downloading it from my phone on site, as when registering, it automatically assigns a random password, and you have no idea what that password is. I tried downloading it later from my laptop and found the password can only be accessed via the google password saver, which requires you to carry all the google passwords with you. Of all the rotten parking apps, this is the worst.

Just awful

Just awful. I had the app on my phone but it didn't recognise me so I had to re-register. After standing in the rain for 3 minutes I gave up and just paid by GooglePay. Then I come home to a notice saying I haven't used my account for some time so it will be closed if I don't re-register. Too late, I've deleted it. Easily the worst parking app.

This App just doesn't work

I can't understand why any carpark would use this company. I recently went to Scotland and downloaded the app but couldn't get it to work so had to go to another carpark. Then a couple of weeks later in London
I had the same issue even though I re registered made a new password etc but was still unsuccessful. I then went home and in the calm of my house made sure I could log into the app which I did. Today in Cornwall we parked and I tried to use the app, I managed to add the location but it would not accept our number plate whichever format I tried to enter it, fortunately there was also the option on the ticket machine to pay by card which I did. I honestly don't get the point of RingGo, I have no problem with my other parking apps. The bad reviews here say it all, I shall avoid parking in RingGo location carparks as much as possible.

We parked in a car park in Pitlochry…

We parked in a car park in Pitlochry earlier today, a RingGo car park. As is common these days, we had no cash so we resorted to downloading their app. In trying to use the app, we spent a full 20 minutes trying to Register/Login. We went around in circles with incorrect error messages, waiting for system codes. This was by far the most infuriating and error prone app. Needless to say, we left the carpark and went somewhere else having wasted half an hour.

Frustrating experience with payment system

My husband and I recently used the RingGo parking lot, and our experience was extremely frustrating. Despite attempting to pay for parking multiple times, the on-site payment machine repeatedly declined our credit and debit card details - even after trying TREE DIFFERENT CARDS (2 from my husband and one from me). With no alternative payment method available at the machine, we decided to pay through their website instead.
On the website, we registered our vehicle's number plate and payment card. The instruction clearly stated to notify the RingGo app or call them to STOP. When we returned to pick up the car, we were shocked to find TWO PARKING TICKETS issued to us.
We immediately contacted the company upon arriving home, explained the situation, and provided evidence of payment, which was received via text message. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive - they refused to acknowledge the issue.
This experience has left us feeling unfairly treated. A company should not penalise customers for the system failures that are beyond its control. At the very least, they should investigate the issue and show some flexibility in resolving it. Instead, we were met with indifference and an unwillingness to take responsibility.
RECOMMENDATION:
Fix the payment machines to ensure they accept valid cards.
Improve customer service to handle such cases with empathy and fairness.
Review the fine system to avoid penalising customers for technical issues.

First time I've used the app and wish I…

First time I've used the app and wish I hadn't! Friend and I went to see Peter Kay and didnt want to risk the last train home so I drove. Got to Arena carpark, logged in and it wouldn't accept my card details even though at home it registered me using Google Pay. Used my friend's card details, went through fine....OR SO WE THOUGHT! Checked for receipt on app on return home nothing...no record in history....my friend checked her bank account and no money taken. I then receives a parking fine for £100 today, £60 if paid now! (Big of them !) What's the point of appeal when we have no record we "paid" Ring Go....yet my friends bank account details are recorded on my app!
I blame myself for not treble checking it had gone through.
In future at the Arena I WILL get the damned train home.
BEWARE!

Failed SMS system cost me a ticket!

Been using this app for 8 months for a multi storey by my house. Heavily reliant on the text notification to remind me when to renew my parking, one day it just failed to notify me and I got a ticket. Notifications were still on and received another text once I paid for the parking! Very frustrating especially when fees are paid to use SMS service.

1 is being kind

There should be, by law, a 24 hour human answering telephone line for this travesty of a parking app.

👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

NOTE: It wasn't easy writing this, but a terrible experience that could have been avoided, just by talking to someone.I tried chatbot, it was a disaster in this situation.

Caution with START-STOP system.

Most recent experience: Despite instructions to click on "STOP" when leaving car park, this was not available. Tried to log in but forgot password. Verify code text to mobile took some three hours to arrive. After contacting so-called help centre, which was automated and useless, a stop facility eventually appeared and I stopped the session about three to four hours after I had left. Not impressed at all.

Having to stop your parking session is a scam

Having to stop your parking session sucks. The only reason this would exist is for you to forget and end up paying max prices. Scam. Having to stop, download an app on one bar of signal, register, login, add payment details - THIS IS NOT SAVING TIME. It's a joke. An easy way for car park owners to pass on responsibilities and maximise profit from simply leaving your car on the ground somewhere.

There are so many problems with this…

There are so many problems with this app. I have had more tickets with using this. I tried to extend my stay, but the app wouldn't load. I tried to pay for parking and again, it wouldn't load. Yesterday, I got onto the app, went through the motions, and it said it had gone through, but I had a ticket when I got back to my car. When I looked at my phone,, it said there was an error. I think I will go pay to cash payment.
