Great part-time work!
I've worked on MyTutor as a tutor for around 4-5 years and it has been a great experience! The process to work for them is really positive, and is a brilliant part time job. I especially liked working on the private side and worked with some great students. The booking process is on the whole easy to navigate. The only downside is new tutoring slots get taken very quickly!!

Too pushy for the wrong reasons
This service is really annoying. Since I joined online, they called me 3-4 times and sent numerous emails to match my need with junior students with mediocre grades and no experience. They are currently more of a liability than an asset.

I’m sorry to hear you haven’t had a positive experience and feel that the team have been pushy and haven’t met your expectations and needs.
We have a near-peer model, so that our customers can get support and tutoring from those who have recently been studying and will have recent experience with the curriculum and exam boards.
In order to tutor on our platform, all of our tutors have to have obtained an A* A or B in their chosen subject; otherwise, we don’t allow them to tutor it, and we can assure you that a high number of our tutors have been on the platform for years and have extensive experience.
Our dedicated tutor-matching team strives to find the best match for our customers, but we can understand if that came across as overbearing, and I will feed this back to the team to ensure we look at our process and make the necessary changes to ensure that doesn’t happen in the future.

Great Tutors
The platform was extremely helpful and involved with helping my child look for a tutor, and his current tutor is really nice. The lessons are really relaxed but useful, he really enjoys the lessons, and thinks that he’s improving a lot. I would definitely recommend My Tutor to other people looking for tutors.
