Today I had a meeting with John Shermin regarding my retirement plan. John made me feel at ease straight away. He is very knowledgeable about pensions and has helped me work out when I can retire, which has been a huge weight off my shoulders. If I have any further financial concerns, I would definitely consult with John again.

I moved my pension funds and investments to Wealth at Work just over a year ago. Liam Bonny became my personal financial advisor and helped me to put in place a robust and flexible financial strategy for the future tailored to my risk appetite. For us, as I imagine for many, the prospect of embarking on a voyage into the unknown and considering placing a large (to us) sum of money into something we'd no previous experience of, was a little daunting.

We had of course carried out our due diligence and satisfied ourselves that all was in order, however, anxiety lingered, and we wondered whether it would 'feel right' to place the required amount of trust in an organisation, but, specifically, the individual representing that organisation.

Our meetings with Alistair started reassuringly - we were in his hands, but the emphasis on listening, both to our situation, and our aspirations and concerns, offered great confidence.

The process is clearly a considered and thorough one, but Alistair's patience, methodical recording of detail, and, ultimately, the recommendations he made (which accorded exactly with all that had been discussed) left us feeling informed, positive and wholly comfortable with the entire process.

We were particularly struck by the various stages that are involved, all of which Alistair explained in advance, as well as the illustrations and forecasts pertinent to our situation. We of course realised it wouldn't be an immediate process, but understanding the meeting schedule, the timescale for transfer of monies and then investment, meant we felt in control and had all of the required detail and information to fully comprehend, despite the obvious complexities.

The investment process, the risks and any charges were explained thoroughly. All my questions were answered in detail to my satisfaction. I am quite satisfied with my choice of using My Wealth for investing.

The advisor was extremely personable and my husband and I felt she was trustworthy. She explained everything as basically as possible and was patient and clear with responses to our questions.

They give back advice, purely so they could get control of my savings and charge me for the pressure of them losing my savings. To get out I would still have tax to pay...even though I'm still down on my initial investment!
