Our History

Zing Health was founded in 2019 by two African American physician entrepreneurs, Eric E. Whitaker, MD, MPH, and Kenneth Alleyne, MD, along with co-founders Health2047 and healthcare executive Garfield Collins, to address inadequacies in the healthcare system by creating collaborative, community-based Medicare Advantage plans.

By extending 21st century health service solutions built around community, Zing Health seeks to drastically improve health outcomes in diverse populations that have been chronically underserved. Given that 80 percent of clinical outcomes are attributable to social determinants of health, Zing Health’s unique approach acknowledges the importance of understanding a patient’s circumstances outside of a clinical setting and offers a strategic, tech-enabled model that can scale to match the size of the problem.

In 2020, Zing Health served Medicare beneficiaries in Cook County, Illinois. Today, Zing serves an expanded service area encompassing counties in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. In 2024, Zing Health will begin offering new plan types as well as enhancements to existing plans.

Our Mission

Zing Health has a singular mission: Providing managed care Medicare Advantage plans that address social determinants of health to reduce healthcare disparities among historically underserved populations. Zing’s plans integrate Medicare Parts A and B benefits with Part D prescription drug coverage, along with providing robust extra benefits.

I have had to get a case manager…

I have had to get a case manager assigned to work with me on my account because the many times I've called you, people don't have answers, transfer me back and forth, often to the place where I was transferred from, been given lists of suppliers that don't carry any of what I was looking for, and it goes on. I've spent hours on the phone with your reps and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing there.
Since getting the case manager, Veronica, things have gone much more smoothly, but if every case is like this, you won't have any more customers.

I couldn't get through to him i did go…

I couldn't get through to him i did go to my pcp same office I have been going to fo 20 plus years they had a temporary Dr and now have a permanent Dr but you're company States I have to pay office call when I have a zero pcp vist

My Zing Experience

My Zing Experience. 4/10/2026
1) Prior to signing up for Zing, I was told that various of my doctors were in the program, who were not.
2) I have been told my office visit was canceled and rescheduled. Yet, no one called me to reschedule.
3) Referrals are sent to me instead of the physician/staff.
4) I was told to call and schedule an appointment with a physician who's not a provider.
5) No one update and or removes providers from roster. I was assigned to a physician as my primary who was no longer in the program.
