Lack of transparency in pricing and…

Lack of transparency in pricing and volumetric weight calculation

My main issue with this company is lack of transparency before payment.

I was invoiced based on a chargeable (volumetric) weight that was more than 50 kg higher than the actual weight. While I later received an explanation about volumetric weight and CBM calculation, this information was not clearly disclosed in advance.

In the quotation and invoice I received, there was:
• no clear explanation of volumetric (chargeable) weight,
• no mention of the CBM formula,
• and no clear warning about the significant financial impact of volumetric pricing.

The invoice simply stated a chargeable weight figure, without explaining how or why this number was calculated. As a customer, this made it impossible to make an informed decision before paying.

The calculation itself may follow industry standards, but transparent communication is essential, especially when the difference in cost is substantial.

I am sharing this review to increase customer awareness and to encourage clearer, more transparent communication for future customers.

It is simply not correct we have several time explained you how chargeable weight is calculated. It is not a calculation made by our company, but an international standard mathematical way of doing this. We tried many time to explain how this calculation is done. I will here try once more. Every transport method has it's own volume breakpoints; seafreight is 1 cbm = 1.000 kg, road transport 1 cbm = 333 kgs (internationally) and airfreight 1 cbm = 167 kgs. So chargeable weight will be the highest of either actual gross weight or the calculated cbm weight.
This has been explained several times in our email correspondence which was accepted you.
I am very sorry if we haven't been clear enough and that you have not understood it. But again since you accepted our written quotation where it is very clear what was actual weight and chargeable weight we did not have any comprehension that it was not understood correctly. Again I am really sorry that you have had that experience, because we always try to pin out and explain everything as simple as possible.
Sincerely
