I would like to leave a great review on national homebuyers, they dealt with a property very professionally especially Malo over the phone

I recently had an unsolicited letter from National Homebuyers stating " making me a cash offer hopefully achieving the price i require " and after many attempts to get hold of them their Georgia has just called me ....... She very politely and quickly said that they would provisionally offer me 85% of my asking price etc ..... She did not respond when i said that NH denied the rigid 85% figure when people complained about it on this site ...... but regardless of what they say on this site NH very clearly are fixated on buying properties for 85% max of there value ...... or possibly less i guess if they can ..... 85% might suit a minority of desperate homeowners but not the majority of people who are looking to move for the usual reasons .... but NH know the price people want for there properties and perhaps NH should just be up front about it in their letters before people waste time chasing them !!! The latest on 15/11/2024 Following NHs response ..... well of course BH " see no point in responding to my review " because its totally true ..... like the other similar reviews on this site !!!!

Spoke with Ciaran today and a couple of times over the past few weeks. Very helpful, explains the process simply and doesn't rush the conversation.

We were seeking quick sale on a rental property and from the start we aware that the proposed offer would be below market price and agreed to proceed because we were assured that the sale would be completed quickly by the 7th of September which was a few days after our tenants vacated. As of the 1st of November facing a lack of adequate communication regarding when the sale will complete and numerous excuses from the company regarding returning calls, we have still not exchanged. We have constantly been the party trying to engage with them on a daily basis to get an answer. This is not the quick and easy process promoted on their website. My belief is that they don’t have the funds to complete sale. To date this has cost us a substantial amount of time and money as well as losing good tenants. I would honestly avoid dealing with this company. It’s not clear what their business model is other than to waste your time and money. As of Jan 2025 We have now put this property for sale at a price just above what we originally going to get from this company at the proviso it’s for cash and a quick exchange. A follow up to my first post , the end of the story with this company ,I was contacted with in 10 minutes after my post by Elizabeth who we were dealing with. after a very heated discussion I said I would take the post down if they contacted my solicitor with an exchange date by the end of the day , (Friday ) she said she had to wait for the underwriters meeting but would let me know by the end of the day , she did phone but said there was no decision . So another weekend of stress , On Monday morning I was called by Elizabeth with out come that they would buy the house at a price below 400k , so this is the game !!! . Just for transparency We had the house valued by 3 agents at £550 k , that is the price for the street , we agreed a quick sale price at £456 k In July with them and to make the property vacant, for an exchange at the begin of September , it didn't happen ,it was still going on when I posted this review and after that the price dropped again to sub £400 k but no firm price , I leave it to you the reader to make up your mind about this company . As a up date on there last posting Today yes we have dropped the price with our new agent as we want a quick sale and it’s being marketed as such so no difference to what they originally were offering , but its nice to know it might go to a real person

Briefly spoke with Georgia as I revived a letter today in regards to my property. Georgia was extremely helpful ,also very knowledgeable in her role as answered every question I had. All is looking promising! They contribute up to £1000 towards legal fees too.

Simple straight forward service, I’ve been trying to sell my mother’s property for a year now and national homebuyers have helped me out a lot. Georgia in their team has really reassured me and got me the initial I needed to get me that step forward. Life savers, keep up the good work!

*Edited to add: DO NOT BELIEVE their reply to this review - the delays were entirely down to their solicitor, and they were lowering the offer in no uncertain terms, not because I wished to rush the sale through or because my solicitor hadn't provided documents. Total liars, appalling company.*

Accepted to an offer (80% of market value) from National Homebuyers in June 2024 and took the property off the open market. I agreed to this offer for a rapid, guaranteed cash sale which is what NHB promises (their website states that completion can take as little as 7 days). More than 18 weeks later, they've still not finalised legal matters & have just LOWERED THE OFFER.

NHB and their solicitors repeatedly delayed the process, taking weeks to complete the most simple conveyancing tasks or read/respond to documents, without any explanation and despite me chasing them countless times. They just string you along and then lower the offer at the last minute.

Exceptional customer service from Georgia. I called national homebuyers being very hesitant but I was reassured after Georgia answered all of my questions promptly. If you’re looking for a quick hassle free sale I’d certainly recommend this service.

I'm editing this review because national homebuyers are very quick at flagging any genuine reviews that aren't positive. My first contact with the company was after I received unsolicited junk mail through the post. This is true. I did not consent to receiving direct marketing and I have been registered on the Mail Preference service for many years. This is true. This was clearly not checked and the unwanted, unsolicited communications were still sent. This is true.

Regarding the marketing I received, my opinion is that the information contained within it was intentionally misleading.

My understanding is that the company are using fake reviews on TrustPilot and trying to get any negative reviews removed. This is purely my opinion based on my experience of having contact with the company and the incredibly quick turnaround of having my previous review flagged.

I have nothing to gain from this review, I just wanted to share my personal experience and opinions, which seem to be the exact opposite of all the 5 star reviews here. My house is still for sale, they are welcome to make an offer on it through my estate agent.

Friendly, helpful staff, explaining their process in a concise and easily understood manner.
Listened to what I had to say and responded appropriately.

Ciaran was very polite, he made the process clear and confirmed on numerous occasions that I was happy to proceed.

Spoke to Ciaran this morning about selling my bungalow. Awaiting a further telephone call this afternoon from another person who has researched my property in greater depth, with a view to upping the purchase price offered to me hopefully.
I have given 5 stars for answering all my questions and the professional attitude of Ciaran towards me this morning. I have nothing to loose as there is no pressure to sell.

Received a letter from this company stating the asking price for my home and they can hopefully achieve the price we require
Made a call to their agent and within a minute he told me the maximum he would offer was 15% lower than asking price , what a waste of time - if your not looking to offload a property quickly a lot lower than your asking price save yourself some time and don't bother with this company
