I booked a wildlife tour with Naturetrek from Canada, and it was truly extraordinary. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, and every day was filled with amazing wildlife encounters. The itinerary was well-planned, and the accommodations were comfortable. I highly recommend Naturetrek for anyone who loves nature and adventure.

Our first Naturetrek holiday and it wont be our last. The trip was extremely well organised from beginning to end.
We went on The Tiger Marathon and it didnt disappoint. Personally I saw 22 tigers over 26 sightings, not to mention leopard and sloth bears and many many more and plenty of birds.
Unfortunately we got stuck in India due to the Middle East crisis and ended up having to stay an extra 9 days, Naturetrek were in constant contact either from the UK or Indian office, to keep us informed of flights and cancellations, assist us with new flights, transfers to hotels and airports , they were on hand when we needed them
Thankyou Rajan

As a nature photographer from Alberta, my trip to Svalbard with Naturetrek was phenomenal. Their 40 years of experience truly shows. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable, spotting wildlife we would have never found on our own. The entire expedition was flawlessly organized, from the pre-trip info to the comfortable lodging. Worth every penny for the incredible access and expertise.

My wife and I recently went on an eight-day wildlife festival in the French Pyrenees. This was our seventh holiday with Naturetrek.
The itineraries are well-chosen and they are flexed according to the weather and other variables. For example, the walk to the Cirque de Troumouse was longer and steeper than usual because the road was closed after damage in a catastrophic storm last autumn, but our guides knew that in advance and offered an alternative option to those who didn’t relish the climb. In my case, the jaw-dropping scenery was well worth the aching thighs.
One of the things about a wildlife holiday is that you can’t guarantee that a particular creature is going to be in a specific place on a specific day, but the guides knew the best places to look, which enabled us to find Wallcreeper not once but twice. They covered birds, mammals, insects and plants, even an endemic salamander. It was very well-rounded: we had meadows full of butterflies and good views of many birds; the botanist seemed to know to the nearest metre where some plants are to be found. The guides worked as a team, which allowed people to follow their specific interests, and there was usually at least one variation offered on each day to suit different capabilities.
The hotel used on the holiday was typical of the kind that we have had on previous Naturetrek holidays. It is family-run, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were superb examples of local cuisine. While I’m on the subject of meals, lunches were picnics with plenty of choice of fresh tasty food, eaten somewhere along our route for the day, usually in a place with a great view.

First.. our guides were exceptional. Hugely knowledgeable, Tino and Alfonso inspired confidence at every point. They know every inch of this remarkable Cantabrian mountain range and its extraordinary flora and fauna.
Next…the hotel in Salinas de Pisuerga was a late decision by Naturetrek; we were the first clients of the family who had just taken over and they could not have done more for us. Begonia’s cooking was inspired. The situation, astride a tributary of the river in a quiet hamlet surrounded by groves of poplar, with so many opportunities for evening walks, was perfect. Great birds, great orchids and great food. Well done, Naturetrek !
We have been on 2 holidays with Naturetrek to Slovenia and the Extremadura. The office team were friendly and efficient, answering queries thoroughly and making relevant suggestions. The accommodations were extremely comfortable with excellent home cooked food. In Spain the Finca was beautifully equipped and the hostess was warm and welcoming. On both trips our guides were enthusiastic and informative and more than eager to share their knowledge. We learnt so much and saw so much wildlife we would never have found without their experience. We definitely intend to travel with this company again.

I have used this company a few times for day trips and it is brilliant. The admin staff are great - they are so professional but also care about the customers as individuals and give a very personal service, Lesley in particular.
This was our first guided bird watching holiday and I have to say it was exceptional. From start to finish it was very well organised. The guides were very knowledgeable ,friendly, helpful and we got to see over 130+ different species of birds. The accommodation, food and the host were wonderful. We would definitely recommend Naturetrek and return for future holidays.
We recently enjoyed a days birdwatching in the Forest of Dean organised with Naturetrek. The group was limited to 8 people which was perfect and led by the excellent Marcus. We never felt rushed and he took us to key areas to spot species some of us had never seen before. Indeed we actually went over time as Marcus managed to track down the elusive Firecrest! A fantastic day and great value for money. We are already planning our next trip!

Just back from 7 days in Gambia with Naturetrek. This was a superb trip with 200 bird species seen by the group. Simon, the Naturetrek guide who accompanied us from the UK, and all the local guides who took us out twice a day either by bus, canoe or on foot, did a great job - all were very knowledgeable of the local bird species and the whole trip was not just productive but also great fun. This is my second trip with Naturetrek and I have 3 more booked for this year. If you've not been with Naturetrek before I'd highly recommend them.
Our first ever Safari ( Namibia, Botswana and Zambia ) and Naturetrek ticked all the boxes. Their countless years of experience shone through and their guides ( Neil and Hano ) knowledge, dedication and ability to make the whole trip fun made it a truly memorable experience. Lions, Cheetahs, Elephants, Hippos and a host of other mammals and the small matter of over 320 birds!!

Just had a weekend Naturetrek course in Norfolk - brilliant! All extremely well organised and smooth running. Very comfortable and convenient accommodation.
Best of all, our leader was just ace! Friendly, humorous and attentive, but most of all, an outstanding birder, able to spot-& hear- birds miles off and so keen to share them with us. Knew the area exceedingly well and was flexible too. We will be back with Naturetrek which has never given us less than a great time with superb wildlife. Thank you!

This was our first holiday with Naturetrek which was well organised. We spent 5 enjoyable days birding in the Camargue and surrounding area including a visit to Pont du Gard (largest Roman aqua duct in Western Europe) with sighting of the elusive Wallcreeper. Our birding guide enabled our group to catch sight of a wide range of birds in a variety of habitats. Comfortable hotel with 3-course evening meals. Would certainly recommend this break.
This was the third time we had travelled with Naturetrek. Pre-holiday they are incredibly well organised with prompt and clear responses from their office staff. This particular holiday was brilliant - the guides were superb (pretty sure Naturetrek use these guides for several holidays in the area around Gibraltar), the hotel was lovely and to have different vegan/vegetarian meals of excellent quality every night was a real plus. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company for anyone thinking of going on a wildlife holiday

We have just returned from a great holiday to The Gambia. Lovely, peaceful hotel where, as advertised, bee-eaters & kingfishers came to dip in the swimming pool in the heat of the afternoons & plenty of birds could be spotted from the bar! The canoe trips are particularly worth a mention, as are the excellent and very knowledgeable guides. We can thoroughly recommend this holiday

This was our first time using Naturetrek, having been on many previous wildlife holidays, and we would definitely use them again. We prefer Tailor Made holidays and hadn't known that Nauturetrek could also organise these sort of trips as well as their group tours.
The booking was effortless, being able to speak to a consultant who quickly picked up exactly what we wanted and knew the area well.
We received a lot of information about the trip pre-departure and everything went smoothly while we were away.
The ground agent and guide was excellent, with a vast knowledge of birds, and organised some stunning experiences for us which will stay in our memories for a long time.
The accomodation at the Asa Wright Centre was a brilliant place to stay.

Another excellent trip with Naturetrek despite the cold and windy weather. Accommodation very good and the guide was excellent, taking us to a variety of sites and amassing over 100 species in the 4 day trip. As usual, all of the arrangements were efficiently managed and communicated by Naturetrek. Naturetrek are my 'go-to' for both day trips and longer tours.

Just finished my first trip as a solo traveller with Naturetrek. Can't rate my experience highly enough. If you want to experience wildlife close up with experienced and friendly guides this is a perfect place to start. Small groups, lovely people and amazing places. I've seen humpback whales breaching right next to the boat, ridden horses ro the top of mountains to see the Monarch butterflies overwintering in their tens of thousands, and wandered down hillsides and valleys rich in birds and butterflies. The finale was an evening boat ride through the mangroves. What a thrill!
Naturetrek Humpbacks, Monarchs and birds of Mexico trip. Highly recommend.
