Big price budget product

We purchased what we were led to believe at the time two LUXURY Natuzzi ' Editions' sofas with a price tag to match. Unfortunately one of the sofas failed shortly after purchase, Cookes assured us that any further issues would be dealt with within the warranty period, so therefore we made the decision to have the sofa repaired as opposed to rejecting the sofas for a refund.

Just prior to the end of the 2 year warranty period, we requested an inspection as the foams had failed , making the sofa vey uncomfortable to sit on and we expected a repair paid for by the manufacturer. We are very disappointed, the technician who inspected the sofa on behalf of and employed by Natuzzi , informed us verbally at the time of inspection that he would be recommending remedial works to the manufacturer to correct failed areas, but we were then informed by Cookes that the inspection company advised that it was natural wear over time and Natuzzi were not willing to carry out any remedial works.

In hindsight we should of rejected both sofa's when the original fault occurred shortly after purchase and requested a full refund at that point. The Natuzzi 'Editions' products are produced in Romania and are of a poor quality. We have appointed our own independent specialist /sofa repair company who advised us that the foams/cushioning which have failed were of a budget type and not made to last and the company would need to carry out remedial works to replace the cushioning with more robust /quality materials at a cost of £750 and this is the minimum required to make the sofa comfortable to use.

A quote from the last email from Cookes:

' If you would prefer a firmer seating interior, we would be happy to recommend an independent upholsterer who could make this adjustment for you, although this would be at your own cost.'

Just about sums it up.

It's too late for us ,but hopefully this review will help others make an informed decision when purchasing so called high end luxury furniture (price tag to match), from a reputable retailer?

Be cautious

We were so excited to receive our grey leather couch after looking for about 6 months. We got a really good deal from Natuzzi, even though it was still over 5 thousand pounds and ignored the warnings online because there's only 2 of us in the house and we work full time so our couch wouldn't be used a lot as we also have an area off the kitchen we use more.
After a few months we noticed the seat's not bouncing back as they should and the leather wrinkling. We followed the advice given to " dress the seats" basically smooth them out after we sit on them. It helped for a while but its now a year later and the seat's don't bounce back and we have a dip. We called Natuzzi, who sent a technician out to review it. He tested the area by placing a 10 kg weight on the areas for about 5 minutes and told us Natuzzi would be in touch. Now I am 70 kg and my husband is 80, so I don't feel a 10kg weight is much of a representation. Not surprisingly , we got an abrupt reply to say there was no manufacturing issue. We only want a bit of additional foam (which can be added easily according to the technician) but have been denied this. So now the battle continues. I don't know what my next move is but I'm not giving up. I know everything now days is always poorer quality than before but what's the point of paying for these covers when they don't cover much... the fight goes on, just be cautious about any purchase you make.

Even a one is too high

Even a one is too high. I purchased a suite from them and paid £7500 and when it arrived it was badly wrinkled. I
contacted NATUZZI Uddingston to advise that I was not happy with the suite. They told me I would need to wait 30 days to allow it to settle, something I have never heard before. I then had to contact them after the 30 days as they had failed to contact me. They then sent out a technician to inspect the suite. He said that packing was insufficient and would put in a report. When questioned about the state of the suite his reply was I can’t say anything. Since then I had to get an independent assessor’s report which clearly stated there were manufacturing faults. NATUZZI said as I had signed a delivery note that I had accepted the goods as being fine. According to Trading Standards this delivery note is exactly what it is a delivery note and not a note of condition
It now seems the only way I am going to get my money back is by taking them to court which I am fully prepared to do.
Do not deal with this company as the goods are of a poor quality for the price you pay. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Faulty Goods, Refused Refund, Nightmare Service - Avoid Designer Sofas Group (Natuzzi Edinburgh)

The first part of the sales was ok but the after sales poor and you will never see any prices on anything.

Purchased a sofa from Natuzzi Edinburgh (Designer Sofas Group) which was delivered faulty from day one (significant alignment issues with recliner). This was noted immediately upon delivery. Despite two visits from their technicians who could not fix the issue and even acknowledged the problem, the company, specifically Regional Manager Wesley Ward, repeatedly denied there was a fault, claiming it was within 'tolerance'.

We exercised our statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to reject the faulty goods within the 30-day period. Designer Sofas Group refused the refund. We were left with no choice but to initiate a chargeback through our card provider, which was thankfully successful.

Even after receiving the refund via chargeback, the company has been incredibly slow to collect their faulty goods, causing further inconvenience. We informed them in November 2024 that collection was required, and it is still pending months later (now April 2025). We were forced to pay for an independent report to prove the obvious fault (3 faults where found) and have had to threaten storage charges due to their delays.

The entire experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing. For a supposedly high-end brand, the product quality was poor, and the customer service and aftercare were abysmal.

Save yourself the headache and potential costs – buy elsewhere.

Faulty goods and poor customer service

Would not recommend buying from this company as leather sofa had a twisted frame and not fit for purpose. Have contacted them on numerous occasions to request that they collect the suite and give us a refund as we are not happy with the overall quality of the product. This has been going on for 2 months now and still we are waiting for confirmation. They don't reply to emails either. I only get a response via phone. That way there is no record. I am severely disappointed with what is supposed to be a top end company selling a top end product.

When shopping for a new sofa we did the usual trip round the stores and when we got to Natuzzi Uddingston there was a luxury feel about the shop and the sofas. We picked one and waited for it's arrival. Unfortunately when it arrives it didn't feel how I remember it, it has now been re-cushioned several times and every time it turns out a different shape and that shape gives in after a couple of months. I believe the sofas in the store may be different from the ones they deliver!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, THE WORST CUSTOMER CARE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

Being influenced by the 4.8 out of 5 Trustpilot rating, we placed an order paying a deposit. The next day I noticed from the indecipherable part codes on the hand written Order Form that the wrong sofa was on it. Natuzzi wanted hundreds more to get what we asked the salesperson to order so I cancelled the order when they refused to refund our deposit. I raised a Section 75 claim against them using our card provider who upheld our case and refunded our deposit.

Don’t let this manipulated TrustPilot rating influence your decision. As part of the pre-sales process, Natuzzi makes a big thing about this rating to instil confidence in prospective clients that they are the right company to place their order with.

What happens is immediately after the order is signed, the salesperson asks, “if you are happy with the service I’ve offered, please post a review while I attend to paperwork”, asking you to scan a Trustpilot QR code on a card. You’ll see the 5 star ratings are very short and are obviously written in store, just after placing the order, when they will of course be happy with the service provided.

The reviews posted in store are not representative of Post Order reviews, if you edit the Trustpilot search to 1 and 2 star reviews, you’ll see “real world” reviews based on customers post sale/delivery experiences which are shocking. Shocking quality and poor service

Purchased a corner sofa and footstool beginning of April , told delivery would be July. Cost £5500 .After several lies about delivery this was eventually delivered last week (3 October) just as an aside we had a phone call weeks ago to say item ready for delivery pay full balance. Then there was another delay because the sofa was not actually ready for delivery after all.
When it arrived I was horrified to find leather wrinkled all over and every seat puddled like it had been sat on for years.
Delivery guys took pics and it was signed as not happy with the sofa. We went to the Uddingston store that very same day with pictures of the sofa and we’re told by Tom,Asst. Manager to wait a month to let the leather settle. We have now found out you only have 30 days to reject an item if it is faulty.
We have now emailed and written to them advising them we are rejecting the sofa but have had no response so far.

Terrible company with expensive, poor quality products

Further to the undernoted reviews from bill mccowie and EyesWideOpen I thought I would share my own review of Natuzzi, which follows.
"If you want very poor quality, expensive furniture with terrible customer service please buy from Natuzzi. Do not buy anywhere else as all the above criteria will be met and more.
A very brief summary of my issues with Natuzzi with regards to furniture purchased at a cost of £4600.
Sofa and chairs purchased on 27 Feb 2020, delivered Sept 2020 : faults reported on Nov 2020.
Reluctantly agreed on replacement sofa in Oct 2021 after many emails and technician visits.
Replacement delivered Feb 2022: faults reported May 2022
Faults on both sofas: Creaking noises (rectified by technician on last visit). Loud fabric rubbing noises when operating the recliner on both sides. Unable to be repaired according to technicians.
Numerous technician visits, 32 emails sent by me (many without reply from Natuzzi) and a visit from the Area Manager.
As a last resort I have written to Roger Mynett, Director, Natuzzi UK Retail Ltd and copied Annunziata Natuzzi, Natuzzi Director based in Italy stating that, to avoid taking court action to recover full cost, I am willing to use Alternative Dispute Resolution to resolve this problem."

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased two sofas for £5,500 and one arrived damaged. Despite, continually complaining that this was not good enough and that they should consider some form of recompense, they just point blank refuse to answer my emails. Don't bother writing to their head office and they also don't reply. I wish I had seen the reviews on here before buying. Definitely, worst the decision I ever made! I plan to share this bad experience in every social media platform I can as a warning to others and possibly even stand outside their shop and warn everyone.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, If this review stops anyone from buying from these people it’s done its job. DO NOT be drawn in to how beautiful the furniture is. Which I cannot deny. But, It’s awful quality and will break, they will sell you a story of how bad other brands are, but ultimately people like DFS etc sell in much higher volume, so will have a higher number of complaints. The replacements will break, they will promise the earth and deliver you hell on a plate with years of stress, worry and hassle. First of all, one star is 100 too many! So here’s the story. I purchased £6000 worth of furniture from Natuzzi and have been battling for them to fulfil their contract since 2020. Over two years on and four replacement later, I would like to make you all aware that you should be very very careful spending your money here. The fourth replacement has just broken down and I am at the end of my tether. The quality control is shocking, you will be spun empty promises of things being “perfect” or even “better than perfect” next time. It’s all smoke and mirrors. Your expensive furniture, yes it will look beautiful, but its only any good if all you want to do is look at it. Don’t expect to get much value out of it. So having rejected the goods and given ample opportunity to put it right, I have now invoked my legal right to return and requested a full refund. Guess what, they’ve refused. I can’t say I’m shocked. They’ve offered a mere woeful amount of compensation given the time put into this in an attempt to resolve. Do yourself a favour, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Uddingston store- Quite simply Tired, upset & Outraged.

Uddingston store- Would give 0 stars if possible! Absolute shocking standard of customer service! Firstly we were promised the world by their sales associate Kate (sorry not sorry, Im naming and shaming at this point as I am sickened by how poorly we have been treated.) We ordered our gorgeous sofa end of February & were promised to have it by May/June, however were told by Kate that she would push for May.. It is now end of July and I've just received a call that it won't be in their warehouse until July 29th so basically we won't have it until August. Now this would NOT have been too much of an issue (I can appreciate delays in our current state of affairs the world is facing) BUT Its the Lies, the sheer lack - 0 communication & quite frankly shocking customer care! After buying our sofa end of feb & Kate assuring us she would be calling us frequently to keep us updated throughout the full process, I have received a total of 2 calls (which by the way was after I had sent 2 emails & called asking for updates and to be contacted by Kate (she did try calling me in May when she realised just how upset I was at the zero communication & how much I had tried to contact her but was in fact in an airport flying as I travel a lot with my job, just incase they try justify with that ONE time she called 4 times over 10 mins.) I have a total of 3 emails ( 1 being the receipt & the other 2 from myself initiating communication) since feb. I have called the showroom in Uddingston numerous times & got different sales associates telling me different things, FINALLY Got Kate & she said that it should be in by end of June & they would be in touch end of June (shock she didn't call, no one did, & I had to call them 2 days into July to again ask what is going on??!!!) I then was told by another associate that it would be in in 2 weeks... I call again as no one bothered to contact me, yet again! But finally was told that it should be in on the 20th & they would call me 21st... They finally called me this morning & told me that it would be in on 29TH.... honestly I can't explain how upset and stressful this has been for us!! We are first time home owners & have had no issues with any other furniture company we have dealt with, & a lot of our furniture has been made to order & truthfully came from or coming from Italy as I used to live there! However Natuzzi are the only sofa company We have bought from & still have no furniture in our living area to sit on since we moved in mid April, yet another lie told by Kate "we can help you with temp furniture while you wait your new sofa"! All in all DO NOT SHOP HERE!! I wish I had listened to my parents who also bought a Natuzzi sofa, but bought from the Store in Paisley as they too experienced shocking treatment from the Uddingstone store!!! Quite simply Tired, upset & Outraged.

Chair is fabulous quality and a great price, always a bonus. Will be delivered next week but very happy with service and impressed by staff and shop experience. Hopefully delivery will be equally as easy as the shopping was!! Would definitely recommend.

In simple terms this Company are awful

In simple terms this Company are awful. We purchased 2 sofas in August and were told delivery would be the end of November. The end of November came and no Sofas' but on reviewing the paperwork is was clear that the sales rep had given then an 8 week buffer by writing Nov/Dec (so please read the paperwork before signing). We had no contact from Natuzzi at all so I called to be told it was delayed and that it would now be the 6th of Jan, therefore, missing the promised Xmas delivery. I asked for a call from their Head Office as I wanted to cancel my order given the delays and the infuriating lack of contact from them. It took them until the 24th of Jan for one of their Area Managers to contact me by which time we had another 2 delays and now the order was due in on the 2nd of Feb - so 22 weeks!!!! Worst customer service ever as the initial 8-week buffer they gave themselves allegedly covered them and again read the paperwork as they claim delays are not their fault and the contract is binding. I would like to recognise that while the employee's in the Branch are doing their best they are being let down by the dismal aftersales customer service that is supposed to be provided. To add to this even though the order was quoted as being in it's not due to be delivered until the 8th of Feb so in essence, it has taken them nearly 24 weeks !!!!!
