I originally booked the NEBOSH certificate course for the middle of March but sadly my father passed away 2 days before the course was to start. Martin the training manager was more than generous and allowed me to re-book from a choice of other dates. I took the course in May and sat my exam in June.
The course was excellent pitched at the right level, it's hard work but Martin takes you through it with many exercises, group sessions, videos and many real world stories and examples (you won't get any of this as distance or e-learning).
There is a lot of homework but it is worth it as it really sets you up for the exam.
All aspects of the course are first rate, venue, course materials and tutor. All you supply is the time.
If you can take a month out to do this 2 weeks for the course then a further 2 weeks to study for the exam. Then 2 further weeks to prepare your final report. You really need the time to do this properly. But I could not suggest a better way to do it.
Last point and I can't stress this enough, I financed this myself, not through my employer and this is the best value for money way to study for this qualification out there and I spent a number of months prior to booking researching this. Be reassured this is the real deal and you won't regret booking with NC Skills.

A heavy two week course but was made enjoyable by Martins delivery of the material.

Two weeks of hard work, very intensive but excellent course. Good materials/books topped up with excersises and homework which helped to memorise the content. I would recommend Martin as an instructor to those looking to take this course.

The course was well structured and very well timed. No part seemed rushed and questions were always welcomed. Martin is very good at explaining things in layman's terms as some of the course work can be a bit daunting if you have no prior experience. I wasn't expecting to have homework every night, but I'm glad I did as I feel that having to do the questions set by Martin meant the course work stayed fresh in my head all the way through to the exams. The additional study aids provided and guidance provided were invaluable. The venue itself is adequate and there's plenty parking and lots of places to eat close by at lunchtime.

All in all I would highly recommend this company if you were looking to do your NEBOSH certificate and other associated training.

I booked my NEBOSH course with NC Skills following the cancellation of another course with a different provider, due to insufficient numbers. Having spoken to another provider who according to their website had a course starting a couple of days later, I was advised that they had also cancelled the course due to insufficient numbers and that this was quite often the case in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

Following a quick search online, I came across NC Skills who advertised in big bold letters 'WE DO NOT CANCEL NEBOSH COURSES EVEN IF WE HAVE LOW NUMBERS'. Due to the nature of my work and family life, taking two weeks out to attend a course took quite a bit of organising, so I was understandably annoyed when my last course was cancelled at fairly short notice without even so much as an apology - this from a well known provider too.......

I have to admit, I was initially sceptical over the low cost of the course as it was literally less than half what I had paid for the other course and thought that this was probably reflective of the quality of the training etc.

However, having taken the plunge and booked with NC Skills, I was not disappointed in any way whatsoever; quite the opposite actually.

Martin is a very competent and knowledgeable trainer with a lot of actual real life experience in health and safety, which, as a group we were able to draw experience from. He's also an unconscious comedian which helped keep the course more lighthearted and less intense than your typical classroom situation.

Don't be under any illusions though, if you want to pass this course you need to put the hours in. Don't expect to learn everything you need to know just by turning up. If you're not willing to put the hours in at nights and weekends, then this course isn't for you.

I would happily recommend NC Skills (and have done already to colleagues and clients) to anyone thinking about sitting the NEBOSH qualification.

A pure brain frier of a course but i expected that.....Martin from NC Skills made it go alot smoother than i thought and made it interesting.
I booked the whole H&S package and i dont regret a single bit of it and look fwd to my next few courses with Martin.
The hours have deffo got to be put in though!!! but NC Skills will put you well on your way!

Many thanks to Martin and his methods for delivering the NEBOSH GC course. Really engaging and easy to learn. Martin managed to eat a few of us a pass after taking the exam straight after a two week course... I would suggest a few extra days of studying for people taking the course in the future. Highly recommended!

I would have no hesitation in recomending NC Skills and Martin to anyone who wished to take this course. If you are prepared to put the extra effort in at home completing the questions set out for you then you will have an excellent chance of passing the exam. We had 3 individuals who took the exam 24 hours after completing the course and gained credit and distinction passes. I would however recommend taking a week or two for home study before sitting the exam to give yourself a better understanding of the course content and increase your knowledge and chance of gaining a good pass grade.

Excellent venue and value. Martins approach to teaching makes it an enjoyable experience with excellent results cannot thank him enough for providing a professional NEBOSH course and also sharing his wealth of experience. Would recommend NC Skills as a first class training provider.

Would highly recommend NC Skills and particularly Martin and his teaching style. The course content is pretty complex but Martin uses a good mix of styles and media to suit the audience.
Also, the text book, homework and additional reading and study material was great and went above and beyond.

Martin Crankshaw provided a highly professional course through his wealth of Health and Safety knowledge and Industry experience.
A very friendly learning environment with classroom interaction only added to the learning experience.

NC skills is also ideally located close to Glasgow city centre via bus and underground links, the M8 motorway and Glasgow Airport approx 20 mins by Car.

I enjoyed this course more than i expected to and this was down to the way in which the course was delivered and how the content was structured by Martin at NC Skills.
He showed a keen interest in everyone's jobs/experience and managed to relate the course content to several industries which made it easier to relate to for all the candidates.
The practical sessions and videos broke up the day nicely and allowed the candidates to share views.
I would gladly recommend NC Skills to others.

Martin is a congenial tutor with a broad knowledge base on matters related to health and safety. The classes were delivered in a clear and concise manner with many group based exercises, ensuring all participants gained an understanding of any given topic.

The NEBOSH General Certificate course run by NC Skills was excellent. In addition to delivering a highly effective mix of slides, video clips, white-board exercises and discussions, Martin reinforced the learning material with a wealth of examples from his previous career experience.

Martin’s style of training and story-telling was very engaging and he took time to give feedback and test the group members' understanding. The course booklets and course materials provided on USB stick were very clear and comprehensive.

The venue (Bellahouston Business Centre) was easy to reach by public transport and by car, and the course timings allowed a lot of the rush-hour traffic to be avoided.

The course was not only very worthwhile and enjoyable, it was also tremendous value for money.

Great venue..the coarse material was presented in an understandable way which helped me achieve a credit pass mark..our instructor (martin) had excellent and wide ranging health and safety experience which helped to make references with the coarse material.I would recommend NC Skills to anyone.

Excellent course and venue. I had attempted this course previously with another provider and I found NC skills was far better constructed and was easier to take in the information. Martin was a great help putting the course to the students and was always on hand for any questions needing answered when I was doing homework etc! Can't recommend it enough and the price is great also compared to other providers! Keep up the good work NC skills

Can't recommend NC Skills highly enough. Anyone looking to do the NEBOSH course will have a hard job finding a better provider or price. Excellent value for money
Very well taught and explained in great detail by Martin. Course material was delivered professionaly and set out to involve the students and not just endless PowerPoints like many other courses. Martin is very knowledgeable and experienced in his field and takes the time to ensure the students are understanding the information.
Very friendly atmosphere in great location with off street parking.
Will definitely be booking further courses in the future 👍

I really enjoyed my training at NC Skills. Martin was a great trainer as he involved us a lot and made the learning a lot more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend the NEBOSH General Certificate training to others.

The venue itself is very spacious and is in a great location.
