Photo contest smoke and mirrors

I recently received a honorary mention as a photographer from NDawards and was curious as to know how many contestants there were besides me. I originally joined the competition and paid the entry fee, because it was listed on an award recommendations website. My investigations now revealed, it is all a scam. This is not a prestigious award, it is just one of several such websites created to get money from contestants. I found a report from Inside Magazine "Photo contest smoke and mirrors" (sadly it came out after I joined ND awards) that explains how the scam works.
