After using Near & Near for my mothers funeral 18 years ago, their exceptional attention to detail is as evident as ever.
What was a traumatic experience and time for me, was transformed into a beautiful seamless day forever held in my heart.

The service from start to finish was given with care, time and empathy. Nothing was too much trouble and time was never an issue. We felt cared for on both occasions of having to use their services, both losing my daughter and my mother. I cannot praise them enough. With such an emotional and traumatic time, I would not trust anyone else to help and support one of the most painful times anyone can go through.

After organising my Mothers funeral so well in 1998, Near & Near were our “go to” choice following my Fathers death in January. Mark and his team displayed a caring and sympathetic approach to us at our time of need and were respectful and compassionate at all times.

They were quick to respond to our initial contact and were always there if we had any questions regarding the whole process. They were even able to arrange our choice of venue for the funeral at very short notice.

Throughout, they acted professionally and were supportive to the family at a difficult time. I cannot thank them enough and would highly recommend their services to all.

Near and Near Independent Funeral Directors in Grimsby were recently asked to assist our family to locate a 50+ years unmarked grandparents grave, and prepare and place a memorial to mark this grave.

This was above and beyond the call as funeral directors but that’s the kind of service Near and Near have been providing our families for over 20 years.

They have assisted us to provide a dignified final chapter in the laying to rest of 7 of our cherished relatives since 2001 and allowing us to focus on coming to terms with the loss and to pay our last respects.

They are sincerely respectful to the deceased in every way, dark suit, white gloves, sedate pace, bowing head at every opportunity etc, which is an endearing element to the service they provide and has never faltered over the years, and they have always been thoughtfully empathic to our family throughout the process on every occasion.

Being members of the S.A.I.F. merely endorses their standard practices and provides us as customers with confidence in the high standards of service we can expect from them as trusting Funeral Directors.

We have dealt with near and near a few times in the past, and had used them twice this year already. The team are wonderful, very caring and show so much compassion and respect for both the family and above all the deceased held in their care.
We have always been made to feel welcome when visiting the home or telephoning for anything, nothing is to much trouble.
They cater to every budget and taste, we never got pushed to upsell on things. you are treated with love and respect from start to finish and even after the funeral has taken place.

Near and near arrange the funeral for my grandmother last year and we were happy with their service, so when my mum died recently we decided to use them again.

They provided a very friendly and sympathetic service, while also being efficient and professional. All of our requests where met, and nothing was too much trouble. For example, they were able to get the local paper to include the Grimsby Town logo on my mum's death notice, despite the fact that we had been told it would not be possible.

The celebrant was also very friendly and professional. She sat and chatted with several members of the family to and wrote the eulogy with all of us to ensure we had the perfect tone for the funeral.

I cannot thank Near and Near enough for making a very difficult time a little easier, and for their service. I will definitely recomend them.

My sister and I chose Near & Near Independent Funeral as they had provided an excellent service some 25 yrs earlier for our father; so for a local funeral provider, who had obviously stood the test of time was a "no-brainer".
We were pleasantly surprised to recognise some faces, as we feel a sure sign of a reliable business is one that retains their staff. The staff went above and beyond to provide our family with the "Celebration of Life" we wanted for our Mother, rather than the more usual formal funeral, and for this we cannot thank them enough. The whole family were treated with the utmost respect and consideration at what was naturally for us a very distressing time.
