Good solid advice - as a small charity we do not have in-house HR. Ciaron really listened and guided me through each step with practical advice. With his help we were able to resolve the situation.

Not so Neat House

Used Neathouse and regretted it from day one. Received excuses of staff absence for delayed requests for documentation. The contract of employment I did get was generic and something I could have downloaded for free from the internet ! I notified Neathouse that because of their poor performance I did not want to extend beyond the first year. Was told that I had been required to give 90 days notice of termination and have been threatened with legal action ever since.Think twice before signing up with this lot and read the small print.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with the service. I understand that your dedicated relationship manager had been in touch with you to discuss the situation on many occasions, but you refused to engage.

As you are aware, you signed a 3-year agreement for Employment Law and HR support with a 12-month break clause. For the break clause to be effective, you were required to give 90 days’ notice prior to the expiry of the initial 12-month term. During the sales process, you were given a written proposal outlining the service offering and thereafter were issued with a service agreement detailing all the terms conditions for you to sign. Before signing the Service Agreement you had every opportunity to review those terms and ask any questions from your Account Manager. You did not do so.

Your agreement commenced on 6 August 2020. You were provided with the first drafts of the Employment Contracts and Staff Handbook on 25 August 2020. Final drafts were subsequently agreed in September 2020.

As such, the Contacts/Handbook were completed in a timely manner. Moreover, the contracts provided to you were bespoke and drafted by a qualified solicitor. Having reviewed the emails between yourself and your allocated lawyer, it is noted that not once during that period did you raise any complaints or concerns regarding the quality of the documentation provided to you. Therefore, we are satisfied that any services/documentation provided to you were of the highest quality and legally compliant.

As you failed to exercise the 12-month break clause, you were then liable for the remaining two years of the agreement, making payment on an annual basis. We have been very patient with you in this regard and sent numerous reminders for payment, but you have continually ignored our correspondence.

We reiterate that we are open to resolving this matter amicably and would welcome the opportunity to resolve matters with you.

- James Rowland, Commercial Director.

Hard-working, customer focussed HR law firm..Breath of freshair in an otherwise crowded marketplace

We have been working with Neathouse Partners, (in particular Bobby) for a number of years now. As the HR contact at the company, I am often contacting Bobby for advice, which is always readily available along with a plethora of documents and templates.

The team at Neathouse have a ‘no-nonsense’ approach and always give a number of solutions based on risk, which I personally find very useful. They offer a brilliant service and are overall a hard-working, customer focussed HR law firm. Oh and they turn things around very quickly, I often have a response or a call within a few hours of contacting them.
