Bad customer service on phone
Customer service on phone takes over 1 hour when other banks are faster. i preferred on 100% online and not phone service

CBA are pathetic.
After the passing of my mother the way in which the deceased estate, loan discharge, and complaints teams have treated my efforts to close her accounts and recieve her funds back as Executor has been nothing short of disgraceful at time of this review it has been over two months and I have recieved nothing but promises to escalate the the process yet nothing happens, even after closure of the account no funds have been transfered ?? I have now lodged written complaints to CBA and AFCA, the CBA complaints person told me they are escalating the problem so now it must be in orbit somewhere I've been told that so many times. CBA is nothing short of a disgrace in the way they treat people with nothing but irrelevance. CBA don't even deserve a one star rating.

This useless greedy bank is absolutely hopeless. Nearly every other day they are updating the online phone app and you can't use it or check your account balances. Other issues are they hold payments to other people for 24hrs which has caused me to loose out on purchases when buying a vehicle and another time buying a caravan. I transferred 1000 into my dads account the other day and then it wouldn't let me pay my car and cvan registration or buy anything on line and when I phoned them and was on the phone with them for 45 minutes they had no idea why and didn't even apologize..as soon as I get back from my holidays I'm closing my accounts and changing to the nab ..thanks for nothing crap bank

Atrocious behaviour by this bank, if you are late with even a small payment, say $25 credit card bill they harrass you by calling you from different numbers multiple times a day. I doubt they are following what is legally allowed with this behaviour. Absolute harrassment and no regard for your customer loyalty. Absolutely stay away from this bank this behaviour is disgusting!

Call wait times are astronomically high average time being 2 hrs wait.
Also to mention they aren't having a 24/7 phone service to a human like other big banks like ING many many others nowadays.
Can't imagine someone having a credit card with them (there's no point in having a CC with this bank)they cannot even manage to talk to you over phone.
I had a credit card with them, had a combank rewards, I ACTIVATED THE OFFER of ampol 10% back, called support 5 times (because of their long waits i can't wait 2 hrs on every time). Get told by them i didnt activate the reward (WHEN I DID)
Will close up all of my commbank accounts as soon as I get my $200 cashback from their CC signup offer. This bank doesn't deserve my credit or money.
There bank branches are always overcrowded and long waits there always as well. So yeah a truly overcrowded bank. Its time to move on guys and girls. Jump to a better bank, if you dont like a digital bank other 3 big banks are way way better, i.e. Nab, Westpac etc.

Seems everyone else agrees this bank is only making money 4 itself off all of us. I been with this bank 33 years never once have I been offered or given 1 reward nothing just substantial fees. Go anywhere else but here loyalty means nothing to these people high interest rates when u owe them low when u have savings poor customer service never had a good experience be shutting all my accounts with them next business day had enough of your bull commonwealth i think not ur wealth more like it

20 plus years I’ve been banking with cba. You close the Diamond creek branch and take the atm out, the only other one in Diamond creek is normally out of order. How about you nuggets upgrade what’s left!!! Then my card gets scammed and it’s a hour plus wait to report it just pathetic. Spend some money and look after your customers
Annoying Frustrating and Terrible Customer Service
They have constantly charge me "monthly account fee" despite being a student which was entitled to a zero monthly account fee.
I had to constantly go in each month wasting hours waiting in line to be served and to get that fee reimbursed. Further, the customer service provided in the area was appalling and unfriendly.
It was to a point I got fed up and closed my accounts with commonwealth.

Most corrupt bank out there.
Everything about the Commonwealth bank is corrupt. They have charged me in the past for a long time for depositing money into my own account?! When I spent so much of my own time every day off querying it, I would get a different answer every time as to why(which was obviously made up on the fly) They’ve recently informed me that over 10 years ago they “accidentally” took a chunk of money from my personal account and are now wanting to pay it back with a meagre amount as added interest which did not equate to the time taken. Every single time I call, and I mean EVERY TIME I will have to wait at least an hr or so… get more staff!!! You owe it to your customers!!!! I could go on and on.
Do yourself a favour and NEVER join the Commonwealth Bank.

CBA just closed early all branches in my area. Unbeliveble! As if their record annual profits were not enough so the look for further savings.
3 of my clients will not received their money (amounts over $100k each) because CBA cuts essential services. Shame CBA
CBA is the worst bank I have ever dealt with
I have used 4 banks / lending institutions now for various home loans, and recently I was with CBA - they make every single thing harder than it needs to be. Eg to open an online account you need to go into a branch, another one is they kept shutting down my banking app over suspicious activity and would not reactivate my account until I went into a branch, when I went into the branch they did exactly as I suggested which should have been done on the phone - that incident alone took 3 hours out of my day.
When you try to call - expect to wait at least an hour, and on multiple occasions (I only ever speak kindly and politely to people), I was hung up on before even asking a question. Mostly when you can reach someone - the people on the phone are nice enough, but it depends who you get, another made it hard to decipher what he was trying to explain (while speaking perfect English mind you) and when I couldn't follow him, he told me to get my husband to call back.
I recently moved my home loan to another bank due to all of the above, and they still have not released my surplus funds, the loan was drawn down a month ago. They say you need to allow 30 BUSINESS DAYS for this to happen. Never has this happened with another bank I have been with. I have tried calling a couple of times to see where this is at, or if I can hurry it up and the hold time is either too long, or the one time I got through after she verified me, she hung up.
My experience with CBA home loans, and online banking is do not use them. They just make everything much much harder than it needs to be. Unless you are absolutely desperate and cannot get a home loan elsewhere - don't bother with CBA.
Never answer calls
Whenever you call the bank via the app they never answer at all. It has happenned to me on number of occasions. Since, they got my details from the app, they never call back too even if I waited for 25min unsuccessfully. Maybe, its time to change banks, got rid of one mortgage, one to go with saving acc.
Worst Bank This Century
I have been with this bank all my life and yet it seems to make up their own rules when it suites them. customer service usually is good but atm they don't seem to want to care or want to understand.
And yet when I have to cancel a card, they still allow the transaction to go through no matter what I have told them. Starting to loose faith in them.
Come on Commonwealth Bank pull your head out of your ass.
