No archives of local newspapers they own.

They do not keep archives of the local newspapers they own. How stupid is that? How can people research local/family history? Stupid.

Hi Gareth,
Whether or not a digitised archive is available, depends on the title you are seeking?
A physical archive is however unlikely to be available due to storage costs associated with the up keep of this.
All our tiles should be available through the British Library, so feel free to visit their website for more information. Kind regards, Sarah

FRAUDSTERS!

Took money out of my account on an automatic renewal when did not agree to it and gave me no notification of this being imminent like all other companies do.
Took £40 for something I don’t use and don’t want and never signed up for.
Also somebody called April was very rude and very unhelpful and refused any refund.
Do not sign up for or give this company any bank details as others have said and 79% giving them a one star rating tells you everything you need to know!

Don’t do it

Don’t do it - absolute thieves - they will steal money from your bank account - do not give them card details - only pay for advertising on invoice by bank transfer

They took £3690 from my bank account in 5 payments on one day instead of £425 and I have been fighting for months to get the money back
Now I have to go legal
Do not trust this group not to rob you

Dear Mr Wilmott,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.
Can I ask if you are referring to a digital subscription in relation to your comment concerning advertisements? If yes, repetitive advertisements appearing suggests that you may not be signed into your subscription and thus not getting the full Ad-lite experience provided to our subscribers.
I'm happy to investigate this further, however to do this I will need the e-mail address that you use to sign into your subscription, you can e-mail this to me direct using sarah.berry@newsquest.co.uk
Once received 'll be happy to look into this further for you,
Kind regards,

Avoid like the plague .

If I could have given 0 stars I would have .Having taken out a subscription as a gift for a Christmas present the recipient was having issues with none receipt of magazines never .
Having advised Newsquest ,what should have been an easy fix has turned into a nightmare and waste of time .
The customer service is abysmal ,I was advised that emails had been sent to the recipient when they hadn't ,then given incorrect instructions to receive the missing magazines and then the had the cheek to say the recipient could access them online even though monthly receipt of the physical magazines was purchased and required.
Their feedback says it all.

Just lousy

Just lousy. Rubbish articles. Ads for gambling and scams. Spelling mistakes that a 10 year old wouldn't make. Endless nonsense about cafes and restaurants, always praising every new place to the sky. Polly Filler artciles ("I am one of those rare people who actually like sunny days!!!!!") and "local man lists coin on Ebay for ten million pounds." Refuse to moderate comment pages, which are a sewer of bigotry. Basically the rotten corpse of local journalism.

interview with Newsquest

I Had an interview with this company about a week and a half ago with Jermaine Cayenne and Tanya Hurley. I thought the interview was okay, Didn’t really get the opportunity to show off my skill set so i wasn’t mad i didn’t get the job. I asked for feedback to take with me to my next interview and the feedback i got back was ALL LIES. instead of being honest, Jermaine claimed I called him bro several times and was speaking in slang which absolutely isn’t true. Also said i was dressed unprofessionally which is also false as i was in a 1/4 zip and a shirt.
So instead of saying - maybe i lack experience or i’m not a culture fit, he conjured up a bunch of lies.

Very Very weird

Questionable company

The company doesn’t like exposure pages and groups that do anything to spread the word on crimes. They have repeatedly gone for a specific groups that simply quote and even share the links they they post publicly already. They get the posts and groups removed (i have seen evidence of this) Sharing these criminals means that anyone and everyone will have access to information on dangerous individuals. But if this company here is more bothered about “copyright” how will this benefit communities? I personally have seen the posts from the group that this company is trying to close down. If they share anything, they have always posted the links so people can see the information from the original source (in this case, this company)
My question is, why are these groups being reported for “copyright” when they are doing the same thing people clicking share are doing? The group is still sharing the source and spreading the word (like someone clicking share would be doing)
What is the motive behind this?
Do you not want people to be aware of dangerous individuals?
Are you actually against exposure?
Are you just for clicks and likes and pounds in the back pocket?

Due to the Oxford Mail not being delivered frequently Agreed to cancel the home delivery due to if a paper is not delivered you have no way of delivery the next day which seems petty laughable But despite cancelling from May 4 paper still being delivered I presume you don’t expect me to pay for this ? Also on correspondence by email they couldn’t even spell my name right Which for a media organisation is obviously a major concern

Dear David Duke,
Thank you for getting in touch, I'm sorry to hear of the service issues that you have experienced, this certainly is not the standard that we aspire to here at the Oxford Mail - please accept my sincere apologies.
In relation to deliveries made after your cancellation, you certainly will not be expected to pay for these, a clear case of the delivery agent not referring to the round card, but delivering from memory.
I'd like the opportunity to check the account fully for you, to do this I will need the door number and post code of the delivery address or your Newsquest account number.
Please contact me direct with this information via sarah.berry@newsquest.co.uk.

Amateur journalism

Low-grade journalism, constant mistakes, bias censorship of comments, (which now seem to have been deactivated on the national news articles) and the website functioning itself is a nightmare.

Contacting their company is pointless.

Even the basics don't work

I've been a subscriber to a service for a reasonably long time. My debit card expired and I had to update my payment method. The newsquest web-app produced vague errors that meant I had to contact support over it.
Long story short, I have not been able to update my payment method, so I no longer have a subscription.
What should have been simple, turned into complex. I was left with no option or advice, and ultimately no more subscription.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Attempted to renew my subscription almost 20 times but Newsquest wouldn't accept, over a dozen other companies accepted, so why not Newsquest?
As an aside. Why was I banned from making comments when I just used 100% FACTS open to absolutely everyone in the country via the 2021 National Census.
I just make a comment based on TRUTH, something the Bolton News can't grasp.
Other people can spout evil, vile, bigoted anti Muslim comments, vile homophobia, use appalling language on a daily basis but are still allowed to comment, plus their comments aren't taken down. Next day they are there again spouting their bile bigotry 99% of the time aimed at Muslims. A family newspaper? What a joke.

Avoid subscriptions to Cotswold Life…

I received an email from Newsquest requesting me to place a review on Trust-pilot. How could I refuse? It would be rude not to. My experience of trying to cancel my subscription and autorenewal payments (which I never asked for in the first place) to Cotswold Life is probably the worst abuse of a payment auto-renewal scheme I have ever experienced. Believe me, this company has told fibs, not played by the rules and attempted to force me into coughing up for one more annual subscription, despite me being a loyal and supportive customer over many years. The customer service has been shockingly bad. It’s only after I asked several times for the case to be escalated that I was able to bring an end to it. As a result I’m not going to do business with them again - and I suggest you would be wise to stay clear of their pressure techniques too. They appear to be a company desperate to squeeze every last penny out of their genuine customers. The problem is that the quality of the product has also hugely deteriorated, to a point - in my view - that it’s no longer worth reading. It’s the same old style of content repeated month after month. How about some fresh and inventive editorial ideas for our money?! Shame really!
