Nexmo offers SMS and Voice APIs through REST and SMPP. We offer unparalleled message and voice call deliverability at an optimum price point. Currently seven of the top ten messaging platforms rely on Nexmo to route SMS and Voice calls to over 200 countries globally. The Nexmo platform handles over 250 million messages a month, with 20 percent growth monthly. Nexmo's difference comes with its unique understanding of the telecoms industry. By connecting as directly to carriers as possible (0-1 hop connection anywhere in the world), Nexmo ensures optimum deliverability with less latency. The Nexmo platform also has many redundant routes to destinations globally. If any route is failing, Nexmo can simply re-route messages to more reliable paths of delivery.

Nexmo took 12000€ from us on hacked auto-reload

Our account was hacked Nexmo cannot explain how. Nexmo sent 89000 sms without our consent. We even tried to stop the credit card reload and Nexmo keep re-swithing on the auto-reload and spend over 12000 euros on our bank account. They have no idea how to serve you securely. We willstop using them as they are expensive and totally useless. Going from 1000 SMS per day to 89000 and they just don't even react. All they do is to auto-reload your bank card till your bank account is empty. This is exactly what happened to us. It stopped when we had no money left. We believe a legal action is required at this stage. Avoid as much as you can. Nexmo is not recommended.

We have just been hacked for the second…

We have just been hacked for the second time with Nexmo. On each time we have provided evidence of the breach, we are redirected to there policies. We will be taking our business elsewhere, and raising the consistent breaches with the ICO.

As Senior Fullstack developer and founder…

Senior Fullstack developer and multiple-times founder here... I have been using many CPaaS platforms in my time and different companies, but Nexmo (now Vonage) has always been the snappiest in response times and actually caring about their customers. It seems they are also willing to invest time in small to medium companies, which I cannot say about any other players in this space like Twilio, Sinch or Messagebird, who only care about accounts that make them a lot of money...
So thanks Vonage for actually showing some genuine interest in your accounts and being very supportive with pricing as well as technical topics.

Probably the worst SMS API provider

Probably the worst SMS API provider.

I've tried signing up with Nexmo. They're asking for phone confirmation but the conformation code never arrived on my phone. As another mentioned, tried contact Nexmo via their contact form, their reply is that I would have to add 200 Euros worth of credits to signup.

It's preposterous! Worst service ever. Off to Twilio!

Very Bad

Very Bad. Their OTP does not get delivered and we lost app users because of them. I would not recommend them. They have bad customer support, they blame something irrelevant and have no answers when they don't deliver as promised.

Not recommended

After our business ceased I asked Nexmo to refund me the account balance. This was possible, but instead of sending it to any of the accounts I requested they sent it, they instead send it to exactly the account I asked them not to send it to.

NOT RECOMMENDING

We do run a legit business for more than a year. We wanted to use nexmo service in order to send transactional sms to our customers, letting them know in what state is their order. After paying for your service i suddenly get the message that there is an issue with our account, and it was deactivated.

Also Alex from your support dept. sent me a copy/paste email: Your Nexmo Account has been suspended due to a violation of our terms and conditions.

Your TOS does not state anything regarding NOT TO send transactional sms to our customers.

Fraudulent API about delivery status

We have been a major customer of Nexmo for 2 years and come across a major problem with the reliability of their service. Our customers have reported that many of the SMSs are not being delivered. Our records show that Nexmo's API responded with success. Further investigation found that Nexmo were not delivering the SMSs and then removing all logs of these SMS sends from our dashboard. Fortunately we kept a record ourselves. We were still charged for the failed attempts!

Now, Nexmo aren't responding to our customer support requests.

Do not trust them!

Hidden limitations to their service that aren't documented anywhere

I was evaluating Nexmo for a client that needed to send and receive about 5,000 text messages, and 1,000 voice calls per month.

Nexmo appeared to tick all the boxes and we have now spent about $10,000 on Nexmo.

Now, they’re blocking incoming SMSs. After repeated attempts to work out why they’re doing this, they refuse to give a refund, and simply point to their “acceptable use” policy for the reasoning.

There’s nothing in their terms and conditions, or on their website about restrictions / blocks that may be put in place.

We’ve wasted huge amount of money on Nexmo, received an incomplete SMS API service, and now they want to keep all our money as well.

Tried to create an account with Nexmo

Tried to create an account with Nexmo, which wouldn't send conformation code. Tried contact Nexmo via their contact form, 10 days later stil no response.

OK, let's try to call them. The only number published on their website that works is the one for the EMEA. But you'll get no meaningful response from there.

For a company looking to provide a communications platform, their communication is poor at best.

Off to TWILIO.
