Leather sofas, fixed seat cushions

2 leather sofas. Fixed seat cushions. Unable to plump them up due to being fixed. Leather has stretched and has revealed the fabric backing to the cushions. EXPERT opinion suggested no manufacturing fault from a couple of photos submitted. Not happy, requested on site inspection. Report suggested that I was sitting on the sofa wrongly? Work that one out. Again said no manufacturing fault. Finished up going to arbitration. Next offered to ATTEMPT repair. Castelan chap came, dismantled the sofa to try to realign the cushions. Suggested that the repair was the best they could do and to expect the problem to reoccurs.
Arbitrator found in favour of Next due to the time scale from when the sofas were purchased and the time I raised the issue, approx 9 months. This falls outside of the consumer act time frame for making a complaint, nothing to do with the fitness for purpose of the product.
So, if you do go down the arbitration route, check before hand whether your claim would be accepted given time scales. If the arbitrator finds against you, Next will drop you like a hot potatoe 🥔.

I brought a Ashford chunky weave two…

I brought a Ashford chunky weave two seater sofa firm fit .
I had it over a year now the material is so worn flattened and has bits of fabric sticking out on the cushions and have lost the support on seats
I have always turned all the cushions and it been vacuum with soft brush attachment.
I had my concerns when it was delivered over the fabric seems it seems I was right .
It’s not durable and fit for the purpose intended. I called next and complained their own function specialist came .
He agreed with me about the fabric and cushions but seems changed his mind in his report saying it general wear and tear . There only myself and my husband in the house . I been a customer for years and always considered this company to have excellent customer service and value their customers . Seems this is not case as there seems to be a lot of unhappy customer on this site complaining about their sofas.

Terrible smell from foam Garlic/German sausage

I have the same issue as others on here with the terrible smell that comes from my chunky tweed Ashford settee and snuggle chair.
Especially first thing in a morning when opening the living room door.
After reading on here it’s the foam that was used. I will be getting in touch with Next. Furniture just 2years old.

We ordered and received two Stamford…

We ordered and received two Stamford sofas. Within a few weeks the base cushions started to collapse. The small sofa when used for the first time collapsed into the middle of the two cushions, which made two guests roll against each other. We complained to Next and they sent an assessor who claimed this type of cushion was as it should be. We continued to complain that that is not right and nobody would expect that with such little use. They sent another assessor who agreed that there was no problem even though they were collapsing on the edges (we did regularly turn the cushions but it didn’t improve anything). Therefore Next would not accept that there was a problem. We now have two sofas which are only usable if you’re not concerned about comfort. I’m sure the company’s executives would not accept this quality -or lack of it. It would be interesting to hear other people’s experiences regarding this issue. VERY POOR QUALITY AND SERVICE. Do not buy. We were warned not to buy from Next but were drawn by the style. Have regretted it ever since. Date shown below was 2024 but can’t remember exact date without looking through numerous receipts and I’m furious enough. Hopefully Next will see this! but I doubt they will care. Customer satisfaction means nothing to them. Be aware.

DONT GIVE YOUR DETAILS

Do not give your details out. They'll ask u at the checkout and on line. I got text messages every day. That part didn't bother me it's the part where I would have to pay to opt out and had to go through the complaints procedure to stop these messages. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS.

Appalling customer service

Would gavw rated 0 stars if possible.
I have been trying to get a tin of paint since 25 August . They keep cancelling my order without telling me and then reordering it . Getting nowhere with customer service despite converting enquiry to a complaint. Have happily used Next for years but not for much longer as customer service is appalling.

We ordered 2x 3 seater chunky weave…

We ordered 2x 3 seater chunky weave sofas. Ordered on a Saturday excellent delivery options, we were able to have them delivered the following Tuesday. The staff serving at the Maidstone branch were extremely helpful and the 2 guys delivering were also very obliging checking we were happy with the sofas, fitting the legs and removing all packaging. We were able to see when delivery would be arriving and they phoned prior to their previous drop off. I don’t normally leave reviews but this was certainly worth a mention. Thanks Next we are really pleased with Ashford Sofas

Strong Smell

Just read the reviews for the Next Chunky weave Stamford sofa. We've had the same issue with the room smelling of Garlic/Onions. Absolutely awful. I can smell it as soon as I open the bedroom door in a morning. Contacting Next yet again as we'd only had them a few months & had bobbling issues. Expensive sofas very disappointed.

Smelly sofa

We purchased a 3 seater next sofa in a chunky weave style fabric back in November 2024 for around £1400. Soon after it was delivered we began to smell garlic/onions in the living room. This has gradually got worse and worse since delivery to the point that nobody wants to sit in this room anymore. Very disappointing from next, we will be returning the sofa soon and buying elsewhere.

Not what it used to be

I always trusted Next and it was my "go-to" shop but not anymore! I have had nothing but trouble with Next this year and will not shop here anymore. Their systems don't work, the accounts department have messed up twice with my account this year which is very worrying. They also use Evri for deliveries so I need say no more about that!!

World's worst customer service

OMG! Worst possible customer service in the world!!! What a nightmare trying to return an item when they forgot to put a return slip in the package. Expensive clothes, no help, rubbish people in the customer service. Really really crappy experience.
Also sent back an item several weeks ago, and they claim "they haven't gotten it".. so that's a whol lot of money that I have to pay for nothing. Don't get money back for returned items and also suddenly can't return items. Crappy crappy crappy. Don't buy.

THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY

Avoid like the plague, and don’t believe the delivery date they give you. The drivers are woefully understaffed and will refuse delivery for the stupidest of reasons. Your delivery will be a minimum of 3 months late.

As of writing this, they have failed to deliver our sofa 3 times. Now they are saying they have lost track of it in their warehouse and cannot give us an update.

They have also refused to refund us, and the delivery is now 5 months late.

I’m writing this so that others will not have their money stolen, please do not buy furniture through them.

Delivery is haphazard

The quality of the side tables I purchased were good how ever delivery was ridiculous. I’d ordered 2 which arrived at different times as they were put through on a different order despite being ordered and paid for together. Not eco friendly I assume! I contacted the courier company and was given a £15 voucher for my inconvenience.

Next sell items for one price then add…

Next sell items for one price then add a new sticker with a higher price.
For example my mum bought a lamp and the sticky label said £190 once home I noticed another lable underneath that one and that one said £170.
Next customer services said they can legally do that.
This is so wrong. No notices to advise of this.
I am waiting a call back from trading standards.
If u buy something and it has 2 labels on it. I would definitely check.
Very underhand move by next

Bought a premium leather sofa

Bought a premium leather sofa, the arm collapsed after 9 months. Next are refusing to repair stating it is accidental damage, despite only having a technician look at it, no damage has occurred! Avoid! Poor quality.

Sagging cushions on chaise sofa

Last year I bought a large sofa with a chaise fron Next. Within only a few months the chaise cushion was sagging and it is now very uncomfortable. Next have recently replaced the cushion which I haven't put on yet mainly because I'm not convinced it will last. The quality is very poor for a sofa costing £2,200 and I won't buy from them again.

Bronx Dressing Table

I’ve bought several items of bronx furniture but the most recent one was the mirrored dressing table. It has had very little use but the veneer has started to peel off. And the veneer is paper thin. The next technician examined it and said it was water damage, which I dispute. Nothing further to add other than to say… don’t buy as cheaply made!
I would have added photos if it were possible.

Bought a large 3 seater and an other…

Bought a large 3 seater and an other smaller sofa.i have them out to it as the arm cusions are flat was told they need plumping everyday which they are but does not make a difference. The seat cusions don't sit properly and it's the most uncomfortable sofa I have ever had .DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY .
