If I could give Next Auto MINUS stars I totally would. I rented a car from them and they played the usual passive-aggressive intimidation game to get me to pay for the extra insurance which I didn't. When I brought back the car (after washing it and making sure it was as EMPTY as I got it as this is their other scam - to take advantage of the fact that people cannot take the fuel out of the tank to match the level it was when you got it). The agent managed to find the tiniest scratch on the front bumper for which I got charged 200 EUR. The car was brand new so I will not say the scratch was not there but it was the spot where a stone bounced off the paint so it was unavoidable damage and barely visible. They also CHARGED the 1200 EUR deposit on my card (instead of blocking it) and I am still disputing this with the bank.
Last but not least their rental contract is very basic and confusing and it does not mention anything about rental excess which makes it very difficult to claim the amount from your insurance company.
All in all DO NOT RENT from this company.

I recommend do not use this car rental company.
The off airport shuttle transfer took an hour with several phone calls, the paperwork then took another hour.
The specific drop off address was not provided; it was stressful to find the exact drop off location.
I was charged 300 euro for a scratch on the black plastic fender protector which probably was there before.
The agent was aware of the damage as went directly to that point. He then denied taking photos on the day of pick up; I watched him take the photos.
The end of rental carwash actual cost was 60 RON but I was charged 100 RON.
This is the worst car rental experience I have had.

I will recommend to keep the distance from this scammers . They charge my 400€ for a scratch under the car which probably was there before.

The agent was aware of the damage and gone direct to that point.

I recommend to highlight the business to you bank and the bank have the responsibility to claim and highlight this business as scammers after the investigation.

Be aware are running under multiple names , probably 4 and all in the same location.

In first place, the agent who was taking care of my rent was trying to scare me with all kind of invented data (e.g. 95% of the cars come back with damages) in order to make me pay their insurance which is 3x higher than the price of the rent price. He didn’t present the former damage report of the care and asked me to asses the current damages. Even if i just kept the car for 3 days, most of the time in a private garage when i returned the car he immediately found a small scratch which could have easily been there before and charged me 300€. These kind of companies are purely abusive if you don’t buy their insurance

Even 1 star is too much, they deserve to be closed. On 30th of October I picked a car from Otopeni Brunch in the evening. The staff delivered the car was very brief in deliver the car, they did not present and give me copies of the contract that i signed, they did not present the car in light condition as was night outside. They deliver the car to you at night without a light with a mini flashlight, then they force you to deliver it professionally clean inside and out but they still always take something away. If you don't take the extra expensive insurance you are lost. He pushed me to take a separate insurance for £400 /week( absolut shambolic) , after they take me deposit of £1600, even I already have an insurance premium. On returning the car , somebody else came and inspect the car in very unprofessional manner, he did not said anything in front of me , just the car is full of chips , but he did not showed them to me. Many of them were dirt point , I wiped them myself , go to staff say are not chips , and he came and point to some other false chips , only one was there which was present before, but under 0.5mm. They become very very aggressive when I did not want to sign the paper for 500 Euro for 1x small chips on screen under 1mm , they address bad words to me in romanian language like ( futu-ti gura matii/ date-n mortii matii , iesi dracului de aici ) and many others in front of customers and in front of my small kid and my wife) . 3 members of staff they aggress me , pushed me, attack me, so I need to call emergency police to 112 to come and sort the issue. I did not receive a trip back to airport as per contract , so we need to call Uber in order to not loose the flight. I was about to fill complain for aggresing to police but i was on risk to loose flight so i did not do it, but I will continue complain s on insurance and Ryan Air as we are very disappointed with staff behaviour. They call 3 men, from car wash and rental office plus few other carwash guys to surround us and we were afraid to walk to airport as our safety was affected , kid was crying in front of offices because of that and is very traumatised , my wife same feel very bad after this experience. Not even on stone age something like this happened, absolutely horrified

This people charge costumers for alleged damages, problem is that damages are to small and to many to be noticed when you collect the car , and when you return the car they find small damages( they already know about hidden small damages like a chip and a small dent) they take advantage of this hidden damages to robbed clients.
They don't record previous damages like they should.

Don't recommend to use this company.👎

Next Auto Rent is a professional car rental service in Bucharest Airport OTP. Best prices and awesome customer service.

I booked a small car from Exer via Discovercars.com. Exer doesn’t have an office in Bucharest, their franchisee is Nextauto which also represents Surprice and some other car rental companies.
I chose an option without full insurance. I had to sign the list of prices for breaks, dents and scratches independent of their size. I had also to sign the obligation to clean the car outside and inside just before the return. I preauthorized the excess 1000 Euro from my credit card.
The guy claimed the car was completely new and without any damage. Actually, the car was dirty which made it difficult to inspect. By close inspection I discovered three scratches smaller than 2 mm and a stain on the driver seat. I did not inspect the car underneath which probably was a mistake. The guy marked the four damages on the pick-up inspection sheet.
Upon the drop-off, the same guy claimed there was a new stain on the back seat (although nobody used it during the rent) and a new scratch on the bottom side of the front bumper (under the car). He took photos where none of the damages can be seen and wrote in the report that I will be charged 520 Euros. I refused to pay and he refused to give me the report as a proof of returning the car. After my attempt to call the police, he gave me a copy of the report but not the photos. He has charged 520 Euros from my credit card anyway.
This company attracts customers by the low base rent prices and then charges them for high additional insurance or for nonexistent new damages. Don’t believe you can discover all scratches and stains upon the pick-up. And if you do, the guy will claim there are new damages anyway and charge you for them.

Classic scam. I did not take out their expensive insurance, but covered the excess with my own policy. I've done this many times before in lots of different countries.

I was told to inspect the car on pick up and fill in a blank damages form. No pre-exsiting damage was marked, despite obvious damage on the car. On dropping off the car, I was charged 350 euros for a faint scratch which the guy had to kneel and hold his nose to the car to see - no way I would have found it at pick-up. No rental agreement or check-in report was provided, so I'm unable to claim back off my insurance - currently chasing this up through my broker, VIPcars.com.

I had paid 25 euros for early drop-off (9.30am on a saturday), the guy was 10 minutes late arriving before he started his forensic inspection so arguing the toss with him would have meant missing my flight - he seemed well aware of this.

Also a 20 euros cleaning fee, I'm glad I didn't bother trying to clean their car as well because I would have inevitably ended up paying twice for it.

Stay away
They are Crooks and thieves
Their main business in not service and renting cars
But charging for overall full insurance
and if you don't buy it
They will search for all small scratches that you couldn't see during the pick up
there will be failures that they already know like plastics loosely attached with broken clips that will fail during the rental period
they will claim that the car is very very dirty and charge you for the cleaning
and they will charge hundreds of Euros for each failure

Absolutely abysmal experience. The cowboys working there try to push their excess insurance using intimidating practices then the small scratches and dents which have been already recorded on previous rental contracts are not automatically mentioned in the file of the car. So everything starts again with the customer who may not pick all of them up and they charge for the same dents over and over again. Avoid unless happy to pay for their insurance which doubles up the overall cost.

Hi! I have seen a lot of negative reviews.
I rented a car from this company (one Skoda Rapid) for 8 days straight. The price was ok (definitely not the lowest, but not the most expensive either).
My rental agent was a guy named Catalin - good person, nice attitude.
I hit them with a 3* review as the car wasn't cared for, but the agent was cool, thus medium stars review.

PRO:
Nice attitude;
Fast delivery service (the car was brought to my address);
Good prices;
Interesting assurance (e.g. Full CASCO).

COUNTER:
* The car was delivered with a lot of scratches (almost anywhere on the body, there was a little scratch);
The engine + wheels were very dirty (as I took pictures of the car's body, I looked at the engine too...full of dirt - probably the former client drove the car on country roads - the rental company wasn't nice enough to clean it at all.
* The cabin filter had to be cleaned by me as it was clogged - definitely was never changed since the car's date of production - and when AC was first started, a lot of dust came inside the cabin (the most annoying thing);
* The engine had a strange noise when it was cold...but was working fine;
* The floor mat on the driver's side had a big crack in it, disturbing when driving as the shoe heel was caught in it (had to remove the floor mat to be able to drive safely);
* After stating on the website that "there is no need to pay a guarantee if you choose the full insurance", and after I choose to pay the insurance, they still asked for 100 EUR guarantee (for fuel, etc.) - strange thing, as the furl range at pick-up was 40 Km and at drop-off 170 Km (they should have reimbursed me for 130 Km worth of furl range).

All-in-all, NEXT AUTO Rent is a good company, but for your sake:

-> CHECK the car when you go to pick it up (take pictures and a video of the outside and the inside).

Money scam. They will think someway somehow to make claims against your insurance. Keep away from these thieves!

Cheap to rent but later they will hit you with awful exchange rates and claim your insurance so you will be paying the excess! Find somewhere else!

1. On arrival the man was unhappy I did not take out his insurance
2. He wanted to charge 150 euros for a border fee (usually costs approx. 15 euros)
3. He told me I needed to have the car cleaned inside and out (this was not in the terms and conditions/contract)
4. The car was full of scratches so it was hard to get all evidence, especially as it was dusk
5. When checking the car, it was dusk so hard to inspect but I still took pictures the best I could and the man was restless about how much time I was taking. He said I did not need to worry about looking at the car in as much detail as he had already marked off everything damaged onto the sheet. (I called him back after he left to mark an additional 3 items that were not on the sheet)
6. In the end as we didn’t want to pay 150 Euros for the border crossing fee I drove the car to my underground garage (10km away) parked it and took a different car.
7. On return he seemed to walk straight towards a tiny, almost invisible scratch and charged me 300 euros for it. It seemed like he knew exactly where to look for. It also seemed weird that before he found the scratch, he mentioned that if he found anything to ‘just claim back on your insurance’
8. The whole process seemed premeditated and a scam to take money

Do not rent form this company!!!This is the most important advise I can give you.It seems that this is a business created to fraud no matter how correct you will try to be.
If it would have been possible I would put much less that one star.It will be a long review but if you have the patience to read it it would save your money and a lot of stress.

Our experience with this company is one of the worst in our entire life of travelers and we use to rent cars in very different countries.
In fact there is one person in this company, the owner ,whom I can describe as an arrogant,self sufficient and very bad mannered person.
The experience was bad from the beginning as he did not expected us at the airport as marked on the renting confirmation paper so we called him and finally we arrived at his office where he proposed us an extremely expensive insurance (our rental was 150 euros and the insurance 490 euros). As we had the VISA card insurance we did not take it.The car was very carefully inspected by my husband, we took photos and this seemed to annoy the owner who replied "let me do my job".
We took extremely care of the car during our trip as he warned us that any scratch is at least 400 euros and this kind of limited our mobility.
When we returned the car,the owner imposed us,as for all other clients and for the first my experience of rentals, to wash it in order to see if any new scratch appeared.The car was 124 000 km and it had alreday several scratches.
This is the moment when the fraud appears and it seems that this is a very profitable affair and a rehearsed scene.He invented a bump on one of the doors that DID NOT EXISTED but any other argument was not accepted.As we had already a 1200 euros guarantee blocked ,we had to accept the 400 that he asked us for this INVENTED bump.
Plus:
-he was very bad mannered and on the entire discussion, very rude and impolite.For ex he told me that we have had to wake up earlier !(we leaved at 6.30 am form the hotel for a 1 pm plane and for a 2 h road travel as we knew that we had to wash the car before) ;
-he implied that anyway we did not paid much for the rental so we can afford the 400!!!;
-he did not cared about us telling him that our reviews will be negative 'I do not care".

I wonder how the romanian reviews can be so positive and I suspect that his friends are helping him to raise the note.

Please DO NOT RENT it will save you stress and money.This company is organize to fraud any foreign client by any manner offering low prices on internet.I also think that an antifraud organization should be contacted as this,as I said,is a very organized type of bussines.

This is not a rental company, but an organized criminal group that deals with extorting money for alleged damage to a car. Their cars are completely scratched, and on the windows they have micro damage that can not be seen, but they know perfectly well that they are there. When returning the car, we received our copy of the contract, where it was confirmed by a Next Car employee that our car was all right (no damage). Two days after leaving Romania, we received an e-mail from Next Car with forged documents, where it was written that we damaged the car window. They forged the documents we signed, which is a crime. They did it specially after we left Romania so that we wouldn't be able to report it to the police.
