Avoid at all cost. By far and away the worst accountants I have dealt with.

Consistently missed HMRC deadlines to file confirmation statement, despite being chased multiple times. In the end I had to file confirmation statement myself (and Nicholson & Co. still tried to charge me £100 for the service!)

Incorrectly calculated my self assessment, which left me having to recalculate my own self assessment when HMRC asked me for an additional £2,000~.

Extremely difficult to get in contact with. I'd often send 3-5 emails over the course of a month before getting confusing and often factually incorrect replies.

In the end I found a more professional accountant and even after formally disengaging, Nicholson and Co. attempted to charge me an extra £500.

Friendly, efficient service at affordable prices. Paying monthy by direct debit at no extra cost helps further. Really feels like my accountant is working with my best interst at heart.

Since starting my position as Manager at Darnall Forum last July, both Sam and Dawn have been on hand to guide me through what to me, has been a minefield. Clearly and honestly explaining things in basic terms so that I can grasp what they are saying. They are both fantastic in what they do and I cannot recommend them enough

We have used Samantha Nicholson and her team at Nicholson and Co. Accountants for a good few years now to produce our annual accounts, Director Tax returns, salaries etc. They are extremely proactive, provide a great service (with no extra hidden costs).

After 17 years in business, trying other accountants over the years, accounting software ourselves, our annual accounts are processed swiftly, due to having an efficient process developed over the last few years with Samantha at Nicholson and Co. to suit our requirements, which assists with time management and our budget.

Nicholson and Co. are extremely competitively priced for the services they deliver for us, and have been providing us with invaluable updates regarding finances throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

We use Nicholson and Co. for our wages, and tax returns. If we have any queries regarding anything financial, Sam is always there to offer advice to us and explains in plain English what we need to know/do.

Thanks to Sam and team for your continued great work and being a great assistance to us and our business. If there was 6 stars, we would rate as that, because they go the extra mile for us and we have been happy to refer them into several other businesses of all professions and sizes.

I have been dealing with Sam for several years now. She does my corporate and personal taxes. Both are very complicated. I am Canadian and my personal taxes involve a few special tax considerations that require very good guidance and understanding. I am also retired and that involves having to deal with two pension retirement schemes. I have complete confidence in the advice she has provided and both the UK and Canadian tax offices are content with my filings. Corporately as a start up with the need to spin off small non profits in Toronto as well as keep my corporate headquarters in the UK Sam has been able to answer many questions regarding Directorship and tax/accounting responsibilities.
As my accountant she is very patient, effective and efficient.

Sam has been my accountant since I became self employed in 2009 and I hadn't a clue what I needed to do to keep financial records! She has always been reliable, trustworthy and a joy to work with. She has a wealth of knowledge about taxation, systems and budgeting and very quietly but surely gets the work done. As a working Mum, Sam is an inspiration to her children and many of her clients as she balances her roles between work and home.
