Very useful when you are learning to…

Very useful when you are learning to type for the first time. I started my account almost 2 years ago, starting from 30 WPM and now I am at 95 WPM average. It records you high speeds, and puts them into statistics, so you can find out your patterns. The only con with this website is that I doesn't have a practice mode in which you can learn typing without racing time and time again.

Absolutely amazing

Absolutely amazing! It's fun, competitive, and makes you actually interested in typing for once. The leagues and money are enjoyable. 5 stars.

Great Concept, Poor Execution – Especially if You Play Seriously

On the surface, Nitrotype is a fun and flashy way to practice typing—especially for kids. It’s got bright colors, virtual cars, and the thrill of racing others at your own speed. I’ve played for over two years, and I’ll admit: the core idea works. But dig even slightly deeper, and you’ll run into slow progression, questionable monetization, and a cheating problem that’s about as subtle as a car alarm at 3 a.m.

What Works:

You race in WPM brackets against players of similar skill.

You can earn “nitro cash” for cosmetics and upgrades.

The races are sprinkled with interesting little text snippets to type.

Friends and teams keep it social, and there are occasional free rewards during events.

What Doesn’t:

Nitro cash now trickles in at a snail’s pace. Just a year ago, “seasons” would net a 100k bonus every 40 races; that’s gone. Now, it’s about 2.5k per race unless you pay for Nitro Gold.

Nitro Gold costs $10/year and doubles your earnings, plus offers minor cosmetic perks—but here’s the twist: cheaters love it. They rack up massive amounts of nitro cash with bots and scripts, and the game’s moderation barely dents the problem.

The car shop is pure FOMO design—items vanish after 24 hours or a week—so with low earnings, you almost have to buy Nitro Gold to keep up. This is a predatory setup for a young audience.

Reporting cheaters? Prepare to be ghosted. Weeks later, you’ll get a copy-paste “Our anti-cheat handles it” reply, yet the same cheaters keep showing up. Some run 1,000+ races a day or hit 100% accuracy for thousands of races straight. For legit players, it’s like carefully writing a letter while hearing an army of machines roaring next to you—and the staff just smiles and waves as if nothing’s wrong.

For casual play, it’s harmless fun. But if you’re serious about typing, competition, or fair play, it quickly becomes more frustration than enjoyment.

Closing thought: If you want pure typing practice without the dark patterns and bot parade, check out monkeytype.com instead.

This is the best tying "program"…

This is the best tying "program" around, i'm 49 years old i learnt to type in school and man its good fun and very challenging - especially the Leagues! Some very fast typists out there - over 100 WPM - my highest at the moment was 94 but I average 70 quiet easily...

Ok man

I had 31 wpm and 90 accuracy. How did i get beat by a 29 wpm with 80 accuracy. Nitro type would be good if it actually let me race. It just keeps loading and this is total racism.

Nitro Type is one of if not the best

Nitro Type is one of if not the best typing practice game out there. It is fun, the membership is lowkey, and the main game is free! There are no game features locked behind Nitro Gold, unlike Prodigy, and all of the things Nitro Gold users get are just cosmetic.

Nitro Type is easily top 5 typing websites.

Astonishing Experience

It is a great game overall with features that help you get faster at typing. I know that when I first found Nitro Type, my WPM was around 40 to 45. Thanks to the tips and the amount of encouragement Nitro Type gives, my WPM is now approaching 80. Also, its way of funding ties in massively with enjoyment of the game. In conclusion, Nitro Type is an amazing program and you should definitely try playing it.

Nitro type needs serious updates

I really love nitro type and its truly amazing and all but, I wish they add a practice system where you can challenge bots and choose if their hackers, masters, pros, normal or noobs. I can only type with two fingers I tried to use all but I couldn't so I wish I could practice because I am way too competitive, and I cannot focus on typing, I would love it if you could add this feature thank you for reading this.

I LOVE nitrotype

I LOVE nitrotype, it is an awesome way to practice your typing. Now I type with all 10 fingers and i type god dam 70-80 WPM. The one not so good thing is the lag, even on a good device. Otherwise, great game!

Nitro type!

Hello everyone, I like how nitro type helps me type fast! My average is 100 wpm. (Rounding) And my top speed is 115! (I am not lying!) Sadly, I do not have nitro-type gold, so I do not have some of the neat cars, but I do have a lot of neat cars. The only thing I don't like is that you can't sell your cars anymore because of the shop:( But other than that, I LOVE nitro type!
My username is: plzsendmemoney My team is: ..PQ.. You can also find me by searching DeltaForever or Deltaairlines. Check me out!

P.S. I also have another account: DeltaMN and my team is Dlair so if you want to join a team, join my team! Thanks!

Poor experience

I honestly enjoyed nitrotype in the beginning. But during and after the 2020 election, I had seen increased team names and descriptions that lean towards trump or Biden and they call insults in neither candidates and even spread false/fake news and information. I always loved the leaderboards and now it is reduced to teams leaderboards. I send a support and they barely replied. Another reason is now there are many toxic actions such as hacking, cheating ( especially using bots to race for you ) and account sharing/stealing. Never use this site, there are much better and friendlier alternatives to nitrotype.
