Consider Alternatives Before Purchasing a Nixplay Frame

Disappointed with Nixplay as they have now introduced an expensive subscription based requirement to use, which now renders the photo frame practically useless without paying the full amount. If this had been in place when I purchased the frame several years ago then I would have no complaint but to do it after all these years is not justifiable. I shall not be paying the subscription and will be looking to purchase an alternative preferably with some additional memory storage.

Bait and switch

Bait and switch. My frames, sold as unlimited storage and one of which I bought as a gift only 4 months ago, now require a subscription for them to be anything more than basic. At the very least they could have uphold the promises to customers when they bought their frames.

Cannot trust brand, avoid and buy a different (and probably cheaper) frame.

Avoid

Avoid - do not trust this company. Bait and switch marketing.

I purchased two frames as gifts for relatives. These were at a premium cost, but included unlimited free photo storage. That has now been revoked, and downgraded to 0.5gb, rendering the frame effectively useless unless an annual subscription is paid. Other advertised features have also been removed.

Don't trust Nixplay: it's a scam!

Don't trust Nixplay and don't buy their products. Until today, I was their biggest fan and loved my frame, but I have just been informed by Nixplay that, in a week's time, my frame will only display photos with a maximum size of 3MB (which is smaller than the average size of photos taken by a smartphone these days), with a total storage limit of 0.5GB. In addition, it will no longer be possible to connect Google Photos to the frame going forward. The solution? Pay £24 per year to retain the same features I already paid for when I purchased the frame!

Nixplay is turning a premium product—originally sold with unlimited photo storage—into a useless piece of junk unless you pay £24 a year to regain the features it initially included. Dodgy.

As much as I love my frame, I will not allow this unethical company to force me into paying a subscription.

Not trustworthy

Nixplay recently decided to start charging for a service that was previously and at the time of my purchase free of charge. Not to be trusted.

Not an honourable business

As already stated in another review. Purchased several of these frames and supplied them to family members based on the service at the time. They were more expensive than other digital frames but I considered the storage and ability to share picture remotely to be worth the extra expense. HOWEVER, Nixplay have now changed their service and have NOT honoured the previous one for existing customers. So I now have to pay an annual fee in perpetuity to continue receiving the service that I believe was factored in to the original purchase price. Nixplay are not a company you can trust not to move the goalposts once you have invested in their product in the future. My advice would be to spend your money elsewhere or be prepared to be held hostage once they decide they want more profit from you. Nixplay customer service have not answered my questions about the low morals of this change for existing customers.

Not to be trusted

Not to be trusted! Bought a couple of these overpriced frames, one for my parents, due to their offer of unlimited storage. We've now been told we have to pay a subscription fee or be limited to 500mb. A total bait and switch tactic, to get more money out of their captive user base.

BEWARE!

BEWARE!
Looks like proper company but service is ZERO!
I ordered a digital frame for £350 a month ago, and still didn’t get it!
Phone number on website: out of service! I have been trying that number ever since but it simply doesn’t work.
Email: no reply. I have emailed them at least 20 times, but not a single reply to date.

Great picture frame - poor delivery

I recently purchased a Nixplay frame which was delivered promptly by Amazon. However, this very expensive item was left on my doorstep in full view of passers-by and hence potentially liable to theft. Neighbours were available to leave the parcel with and also there’s a plastic garden box at the side of the house in which the parcel could’ve been left.

Prompt delivery, great frame

Read great reviews about the Nixplay frame elsewhere and decided to purchase direct from the manufacturer as a Christmas gift. Arrived within a few days and wife is absolutely delighted with the product and ease of use.
