They Deleted My Account and Refused the Refund

I subscribed to NordVPN with an annual plan and requested cancellation and a refund well within the 30-day money-back guarantee period.

Due to what appears to be an internal process error on their side, my account was cancelled, but my refund was never processed. Now their support team claims they cannot track my case or issue the refund because the account has already been deleted and they no longer have access to it.

This is extremely disappointing and unprofessional customer service. A company should be able to track payments and refund requests regardless of account status.

Very poor experience overall. I absolutely do not recommend this service.

Title: Fraudulent Billing Practices, Hidden Overcharges, and Broken Services Loyal Customer Since 2022 Done

I am writing this to expose the completely deceptive, non-transparent, and fraudulent billing practices of NordVPN. I have been a loyal customer since 2022, but my recent billing cycle is an absolute scam.I was hit with two separate, unannounced charges totaling nearly $232 for a single year of service. When checking my billing history, I was shocked to see my 1-year standard VPN plan was charged at an outrageous $149.88. When looking at their public pricing, a standard year averages between $60 and $100. NordVPN has secretly bundled unauthorized extensions like "Threat Protection" and "Dark Web Monitor" into my account without my permission to inflate my bill by an extra $50–$90. I never signed up for these, nor was I ever sent a notification email regarding this massive price hike. To make it worse, they split my billing and charged me a separate $81.48 for a single year of a Dedicated IP. My previous Dedicated IP plan was $78.96 for TWO YEARS. They cut my plan duration in half and doubled the price without warning.Paying nearly $232 a year for a VPN is insane, especially when the service is completely broken. The Dedicated IP I am being overcharged for was constantly detected by websites, defeating its entire purpose. It continuously clashed with my network settings to the point that it knocked out my internet entirely, forcing me to take my computer to a professional technician to repair the damage NordVPN caused.When I contacted customer service to do their due diligence and rectify this by adding credit or a free year to my account to compensate for this broken service, the lazy support staff told me to "just cancel." They do not care about customer retention at all.Consider this a formal notice: If a senior manager does not immediately look into this account and rectify these fraudulent overcharges by issuing a free year of both the standard VPN and the Dedicated IP, I am canceling immediately. Furthermore, I will be filing a formal complaint for fraudulent and deceptive business practices with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and initiating a total chargeback with my bank. Consumers beware: NordVPN will quietly manipulate your billing tiers and rob you blind upon renewal.

Response time good

It is great that the response time is quite quick. As my issue was not urgent I was happy to do this over email, and appreciate the ability for the 24*7 chat option.

However, some of the respondents didn't seem to bother to read the ticket and only respond to the latest response that I had added, which meant, I had to restate the issue and I lost time due to the person's response not being relevant to the issue.

Used to be great now it's total garbage.

This VPN was decent for the first two years, but now it's absolute garbage. Despite multiple reinstalls and endless troubleshooting, the connection is extremely unstable and constantly drops or slows to a crawl. I pay for 300 Mbps with my ISP, yet this thing delivers pathetic speeds that make basic browsing painful. YouTube buffers nonstop, videos freeze constantly, and it's infuriating to use. My PC is fast this issue is 100% on them, I have tried changing settings and servers same result. Their chat support is useless and barely helps with anything. Worst of all, they hide behind their 30-day guarantee and refuse to do anything after that. Complete waste of money. I'm extremely disappointed and pissed off. Will never use this service again. It may work fine on my phone, however, no amount of troubleshooting allowed it to work on my desktop properly. Just very frustrating, maybe it works fine for some.

Unexpected and excessive renewal price increase

Very disappointed. In 2024 I paid £80.35 for a two-year subscription. Then on 7 May this year £133.78 was taken from my account for a one-year renewal.

Paying significantly more for one year than I previously paid for two years feels unreasonable and was an unpleasant surprise. I have requested a refund and cancellation of my subscription.

The product itself may be fine, but this pricing and renewal experience has left me very unhappy.

Can't load meet.google.com

I requested technical help to access meet.google.com, which is, by default, not available with the browser extension enabled.

After 7 emails with people who had no idea what kind of commands they were asking me to execute in my terminals, I finally got someone from Tech support who was capable of helping me.

If you mainly use the extension, and don't use the CLI/GUI, most of the first-aid support is completely useless.
