The founder and head of product directly reached out to me and had calls with me, helping me onboard. They just gave a great offer. It seems like a very engaged team that really cares about your problem and helps de-bureaucratize German accounting, and makes taxes very easy for small businesses and entrepreneurs starting out.

It's just a really awesome team, really caring for their customers and making sure they achieve high quality. They've just been shipping update after update with really good impact that's just helping, each time making life easier. You're just not having to worry about your accounting and taxes and some tax submissions, etc.

I have always looked for a tool to make bookkeeping easy for me in Germany. And I stumbled upon Norman through Caude. Norman has made me not hate bookkeeping today. An English finance tool that makes my business easier to manage. This is my genuine experience as an entrepreneur.

As someone new to freelancing, Norman has helped me understand accounting requirements (you can just ask the AI which has all your context) and made the process itself really easy.

I have a pretty simple use case - just a few incomings and outgoings - so for my purposes the free plan is sufficient. I would consider the paid plan for tax filings but I haven't quite got there yet.

The invoice creation tool is great and creates professional looking invoices with all the necessary legal wording. I also like that I can sync my bank, so all I need to do is check and 'finalise' transactions. Though I have found that the auto categorisation of transactions and auto invoice linking doesn't always work. It's a minor issue though as these can be easily be done manually.

What was more frustrating is that at one point my bank account stopped syncing properly, which required some fiddling around to make it work again. Support were very fast to assist here though.

Norman seems pretty new so I guess these are just teething problems which they'll sort out soon. Overall I think it's got a lot of promise and I'll be sticking with the platform for now.

I would give 3.5 if I could.

Its a good service and very easily handles your VAT returns and corrections etc.

The tech itself though can be a little wonky but the support is A class, they respond to you in less than 5 minutes and you can have a detailed conversation with them about your issue.

The app is great, and the integrations are really helpful. AI automations are also really good, and would even be better if they could also suggest ways to improve tax efficiency or to optimize tax returns. But overall is a great app already!

I love that i don't have to go looking for someone to help with my tax and vat especially as it can be tiring.
Although I would love that Norman improve on the way it assigns categories using bank transactions because some categories tend to be assigned in the wrong one

I've been filing my VAT returns with Norman for a couple of years now, and it's become an essential part of how I run my business. Invoicing feeds ZM filings, Qonto sync works seamlessly, so my transactions flow in without any manual effort. The AI helps with bookkeeping a lot and the pricing is very reasonable for what I get.

In general I have a good experience. Being a technical person I value companies that focus on modern solutions and think outside of the box.

Their API and MCP make my experience using their software top because I can connect it to my AI workflows.

From time to time there are some technical issues (which is normal), but they do their best to solve them and their support responds instantly.

Started using Norman for my regular annoying invoicing. It’s fast, easy and the invoices are beautiful (much better than my Word ones:))! Super friendly design and navigation! Now doing VAT filings with them. Maybe will do annuals as well, will see. Thank you for saving my time and nerves😄

I moved to Germany a few years ago and had basically no idea how local accounting and taxes work. As a small business owner, that was pretty stressful in the beginning. Norman helped a lot with getting things under control.
The tool is easy to use and doesn’t feel overwhelming, even if you don’t have an accounting background. I use it for invoicing, VAT, and quarterly reporting for my Gewerbe, and I can do all of that on my own now.
Support has also been very good. Whenever I had questions (especially about German tax details), I got quick and clear answers. Overall, it’s made accounting in Germany much less painful for me.

Nice tax service. I’ve been a client of Norman since last year. Initially they started as a service to simplify taxes for small entrepreneurs in Germany, Kleinunternehmer or Freiberufler. The key feature is focusing on expats like myself. As a foreigner in Germany, it’s pretty hard for me to understand the process of registering, invoicing, and correct reporting of taxes and VAT. Norman helped me to get the things in order and keep track of my income and expenses, which is crucial to get the deductible from the tax office. Recently the developers started including new features targeting people who are both self-employed and have been regular employees. Norman incorporates the AI features too, which helps with parsing expense invoices. I find their prices reasonable.
