Worst experience. When time came for my move, their phone number had been disconnected and website vanished. After days of emails, finally got a response from a person who was rude and obnoxious.
When I realized I couldn’t trust them, no response and kept my deposit. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DONT BELIEVE THE FEW POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE.

This company is the worst ever. It was a nightmare from beginning to end. Master RIP off artist/salesman, James disappeared when we got closer to the move date. The estimated cost doubled and then they proceeded to do everything wrong.
Items were packed haphazardly and boxes weren't labeled. Lamps and TVs were just thrown into big boxes with everything else. All lampshades were ruined. We are missing all our good pots and pans.
Delivery was late and they didn't help unpack or take empty boxes.
It cost $10,000 to move from NJ to FL and it was a terrible experience. We moved from HI to NJ a year and a half ago for under $7000 and it went perfectly.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

BEWARE!!! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I could go on, and on, but I am not going to waste anymore time with these scammers. We had to get an attorney involved, and found out what this company has done is completely illegal. We will be filing with the attorney general to make sure they cannot do what they have done to anyone else. Please be warned.

I called and spoke with Tyler at Northern Star Moving Systems and he was great from start to finish. I explained to him I needed to relocate for work purposes and needed to move as quickly as possible. He was able to get all of my items picked up just a few days later with no extra charges. We went over all of the items I would be bringing and he gave me a fair price compared to the other companies I had been speaking with. He explained everything, and what to expect perfectly. I was given the customer service phone number, which is 24 hours and that was so relieving to know someone would always be there to answer my questions.

As a current college student, I needed assistance in moving my furniture and collectibles to my apartment. I found Northern Star Moving Systems, and they did an outstanding job in helping me move in. They picked up everything from my original home and made it much more convenient to move in. It was my first time moving out and using a moving service and I could not have been happier.
Typically my family and I would always be skeptical of using a moving company, but their services and organization were undeniably impressive. Their prices are below average compared to competitors. With Northern Star Moving Systems I didn't feel cheated and very respected as a new customer.
I called them and got a quote within 30 minutes. On the moving day, a bunch of movers arrived right on time with all equipment necessary for the job. Nothing was broken, nothing was out of place or missing.
I thought it would be a hassle but with Northern Star Moving Systems customer service and prompt and punctual pick up and drop off times, I was surprised. I definitely recommend this for anyone who needs a reliable moving experience.

Northern Star Moving Systems is nothing short of amazing! I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. I had originally booked another local moving company but they never showed up. I was in utter panic and gave Northern Star Moving Systems a call and they were more than willing to help me out in a desperate time. They took care of all my moving needs from extra boxes, packing supplies and a huge moving truck. Their customer service is fantastic from the people on the phones to the movers. All very friendly and knowledgeable. I wont hesitate to call them back again for my next move. In my opinion this is the best moving company around. You don't have to worry about hidden fees (like you do with other companies or when you do it yourself) and they just put your mind at ease which is great because moving is usually such a hectic and stressful situation. If you are looking for the best moving company in town call Northern Star you wont be disappointed.

Absolutely the worst moving company!! Lost my husband's entire toolbox, my kitchenaid mixer and many kitchen items, a patio chair .... etc etc. Plus damaged multiple items. They change to another company for delivery .... a total rip off company
BEWARE!!!

A week ago my major headache is how I would move my family and all our belongings. This company singlehandedly moved me without dropping a pin from my old home to my new home as I watched and did nothing else. They have shown me that they can be trusted with people’s properties without the slightest fears. If anyone can be able to access such reliable relocation services from them, then I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I don't want to say this will be your experience with them but here are some facts from my move.
As for me, if I could, I would give negative stars. My specialist was James Pearce, the office representative was Lynn, and manager was Chris.
Here are answers to some of my questions I had for James prior to the contract, what actually happened, and my interaction with the manager.
-James said I would be able to contact him whenever throughout the move until I was happy with my belongings in my new place.
After signing the contract, he was nowhere to be found. I did speak to him one time after signing when he said he never received my emails and that the extension stamped in his email signature wasn't correct. He gave me his cell phone number - never answered or called back.
-James said no, they do not hire third party contractors to move our belongings. From pickup to drop off, it would be their movers in their Northern Star Moving trucks.
Upon pickup, yes, it was their movers and truck but upon drop off it was a third party mover.
-James said our belongings would not be mixed with other people's belongings on the truck. Our belongings were stickered with pink tags upon pickup to avoid the mixing of other people's belongings. Upon drop off, our things were mixed with another person's belongings who also had pink stickers, so at one point the movers were giving us another person's bike and boxes. We totally could have taken them. Also, we are missing a bin.
-James said the quote given to me would not change unless I requested that they hold my belongings longer than the free 30 days or if I added way more to my belongings. When going over the contract, he said the long haul and elevator fees would not apply to me because my things were being picked up from a storage unit on the 2nd floor and those fees were more for people in tall high-rise buildings.
For pickup, I was charged $300 for the long haul fee ($75/50ft). So for dropoff I had to move my belongings myself to avoid the fees again, even though it was being moved into another storage unit.

My interaction with Chris (the manager) about this $300 fee - These are some of his responses.
"$300 is not a surprise, I could understand if it was over $1000 but it's only $300. Just pay it." - (when telling him that James said there would be no surprise fees)
"I am not going to argue with a customer over a small job" - (guess we were considered a small job since we were only moving a 1 bedroom apt).
"I am the manager. I am not in customer service so I do not need to speak to you in any kind of way so either pay the $300 or remove your things from our truck yourself" - (when I mentioned how stressful moving is and asked why he was speaking to me aggressively)

Note: Insurance is a third party so if you are missing anything or it's damaged you do not contact Northern Star Moving Company and apparently this third party company is not great. Still waiting to hear back about our missing bin.

If you still want to move forward with them, be sure to get everything in writing, in DETAIL and do not sign the contract if you do not agree with something. Even though I did all of that and it didn’t help much, maybe it'll help you somehow. Also, take your own DETAILED inventory of your belongings. Their version of inventory is writing "some boxes, some bins" and when dropping off asking YOU if you think that's everything.

We moved 4200 lbs of stuff, a lot of it easy to scratch, break and destroy Ikea furniture. Not one thing arrived broken or even blemished. Seriously! Further, EVERYTHING came. We had tons of individual, non-boxed items that I thought for sure would get lost. Nope)) Every single thing, from guitars to individual ski poles arrived. Also, both the guys who picked up our stuff and the guys who dropped our stuff off were awesome. Hard workers, fast and considerate. Thanks!

This has been the worst experience of my life & we were sold a pack of lies! Everything was perfect until they got the deposit & then all turned to crap...paid almost 5k to move from PA to Miami & here I sit on a beach chair in my livingroom because my stuff still hasn't even left PA! Our stuff was promised prior to deposit to be here by 7/22 but still get the same "NO ETA" everytime we call. Now they are saying if we pay another $3500 they can have it here in 3 days! Cannot even talk to the sales guy who sold me this batch of lies...guess we will be getting the news & a lawyer involved...SMH you should be ashamed of yourself

WORST COMPANY EVER. DO NOT USE THEM. Salesman, Sam, lied to us about the company having their own van line, they drastically underestimated the cost (original quote was under $7k), they didn't show up for pickup on time nor with their own trucks (they rented 2 Enterprise 26ft trucks) or the number of movers they promised, they couldn't finish loading in one day so they had to return next day which greatly inconvenienced our travel plans, the movers left some of our belongings behind, left their trash and cigarette butts all over, and just overall no respect for our stuff. Then when it came time for delivery, they didn't show up on the promised day, wouldn't call us back or give us an ETA on when we could expect it, charged over double of their quote because they unloaded the 2 rental trucks to put on a semi even though we told them not to so they upcharged for shuttling, our items sat in a warehouse for TWO WEEKS. We were forced to spend over $1500 on furniture and household items just so we could live in our new house until the trucks were delivered. When the trucks finally arrived there was EXTENSIVE DAMAGE to nearly everything. Boxes crushed and broken, all furniture was scratched and/or dented, items missing, many things broken and tossed around into different boxes when they broke them. The movers hired were so lazy that one of them quit halfway through because he wouldn't walk up a small flight of stairs. Everything about this experience with NorthernStar Moving Systems has been horrible, costly, frustrating, and downright unprofessional. I could go on about even more things that were wrong, but this post is already exhaustive. We will be filing an insurance claim and possibly a lawsuit. This company is a SCAM.

If it wasn't for Roman, I'd still be freaking out about where my stuff is. I've tried for over a week to get in touch with management or the sales team to find nothing but a voice mailbox that I've left countless messages on.. but Roman.. he answered his phone.

He's the guy who packed up and loaded up my stuff to begin with. He was nothing but professional and is by far the most professional person you have employed. Your management sucks. Your sales team sucks, you suck.

You tell me you'll be here on Friday, but tell your movers to come on Saturday.

You estimated WAY lower price wise compared to everyone else, but once I read the fine print (after I paid the deposit, dumb me) I realized you estimated the sq ft WAAY lower than anyone else.. same item list, way underpriced.

The only reason you got the job was because of your estimated $ amount. Dumb me.. I should have read the fine print.

Once you had sold me, communication was non existent. After your crews picked up my stuff, nothing. I had no idea when I would get it. Time and time again, I tried to call.. nothing. Message after message I left.. nothing. Finally, desperately I called the foreman who picked up my stuff, and he was professional and kept in contact.

Good thing is, I don't take my frustrations out on your employees.. who I imagine have a hell of a time trying to do their job. Constantly faced with irritated and angry customers because of the crappy job your sales and management teams do.

Anyways, if I ever need to move again, I'll call Roman. But DEFINITELY will NEVER use your service ever again.

I used Northern Star Moving Systems during my moving. It was an utterly smooth process and I cannot complain about anything. I have to thank these guys for their professionalism and greatly affordable service. They were fast and handled everything properly and were in good control of the entire process. My sister is also moving soon and I have already recommended Northern Star Moving Systems to her.

I did not have an idea that it could be that adorable. All along, I have thought that moving was so much involving and hectic. Based on the experiences of my friends, I knew that relocating was not so interesting. When I hired out Northern Star Moving Systems, that was my expectation. Ideally, I was ready for disappointment. You could have imagined the look on my face when the crew was able to manage the entire relocation without any sign of inconvenience. They were perfect all way. I must admit that they proved me wrong. I loved everything they did. Given another chance, I would relocate using their services.

No one likes associating with failures. I am no exception. I love diligence, perfection, and awesomeness. I am glad when service providers offer me their best. That explains my uttermost joy last week when Northern Star Moving Systems crew was able to relocate me so peacefully. They were hearty in the service deliveries. I am so happy I hired them out.

The move from Alabama to New York was indeed so amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it. From the moment I spoke to their agent until the last minute they were leaving, the relocations remained awesome. I loved how they handled me throughout the experience. They were so respectful and knew how to handle every part of the relocation. I was so glad at the end of everything.

That was a perfect relocation. I had moved before but never received anything to what I had last week. All my properties; from furniture to utensils were relocated safely without any damage being evident. What inspired me, even more, is the fact that they were able to move me without charging extra charge or pricing higher quotes. I am grateful.

If you have problems relocating, you should try Northern Star Moving Systems. I am very sure they will not disappoint. In fact, you will come back smiling and full of testimonies. I involved them in my recent move to Georgia from North Carolina. They did in such a professional way. They were able to maintain their composure from the start until the end.
